I don't mean to be rude but your use of the English language is slightly lacking, where are you from and why living in Adelaide (one of the major 'holes' in AU IMO!)? Either an immigrant or student maybe?

Overall in the big scheme of things I'm sure that the few who worry, complain and stress about the EDD's is a very small portion (of who all prob browse forums like me) - I think it's Dell's lack of honest and upfront communication which is most disspointing for most people, if dell contacted ppl via a mailmerge saying 'we've got parts shortages, there will be delays OR we can change your order to a config that doesnt have these parts...' all would be fine. But no, they continue to baffle, confuse and frustrate people - people write about it, which other prospective customers read! Hmmmm... I still like Dell

But arright, I'll keep you posted on your guess! Wanna bet $5 on it?

 

This is horrible - Dell India has cancelled my XPS 15 order without furnishing any reason.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

 

hi lecia....when did u ordered it and what was the EDD....

 

Had ordered on 11/11 and EDD was 19/11 .Then I was told that it's just a computer generated EDD not the actual one !!! the actual EDD is sometime in the 1st week of Dec, i.e. 3 weeks after placing the order.

Just got a call from the Dell Sales representative and she explained that there was a problem with the factory's computer system, which cancelled ALL the orders. But there's nothing to get alarmed : the actual orders have not been cancelled , just that the factory needs to allocate fresh order numbers to each customers, once again. The laptops are in the process of getting manufactured.

So, what does it tell us about Dell ? A hardware company with some horrible software ? Or, are they simply messy in managing orders and deliveries?

Now, I need pray to some techno-god and cross my fingers that they deliver it on the first week of Dec.

 

sorry Leica01, seems like Dell India had to put their production line on hold in order to accommodate U.S. orders first

j/k you guys should actually have the best turn around time since their is a huge Dell factory in India. heck I'd probably build one online and ask if i could pick it up in person if i lived in India!

When i ordered they said that they will deliver it in a week
But now they showed it as CANCELLED after 2 weeks
When I Inquired they said it was an Internal Problem and they will try to deliver it as soon as possible
They said they will be telling me the exact delivery date by today
I hope they hold the promise at their end

 

[India]I had mailed the guy who helped me with the order and he mentioned some problem with the backend systems which resulted in all orders being cancelled and then reordered. I really hope it doesnt affect my EDD which is supposed to be on 23rd Nov. Waiting desperately

 

No, they don't allow you to pick it up. It has to go through the courier route and you pay Rs 900 extra for that. A nice way to milch some extra dough.

Sorry guys, you will be disappointed when Dell gets back to you.

I got the new order number and EDD: 16/12 - which is more than 1 month from the date of placing the order, and this sucks man, big time.

Wondering why I didn't go with HP Envy 14 (with a Radiance screen).

 

Yipeeeh after 8 long days mine's "in production" now Hopefully they get it done within the weekend and can send it out by monday. EDD is still 30th nov.

well said. i love the result though [or last 2/3 overs!]
i think the steps are going to speed up very soon. about the status, may be the problem comes from their servers or the way they updates! yesterday at the evening their server was down. just after a while i found my status was changed from 'custom clearance in progress' to 'arrive in australia main hub'. 2 hrs later it was back again to the 'custom....'.

'wip' is the most annoying stage. when its done, everything goes very fast. i think you know...

I wish I knew why some ship in like four days then other people are waiting for months. Have any 17s shipped lately? I wish mine would ship by tomorrow so I can get it by Wednesday. Are the 17s all on hold for that palmrest heat issue? I see lots of 15s going out quick now but no 17s.

 

There seems to be some delay for XPS 15 with GT 420

 

How long does it take in Delivery Preparation? My new XPS 17 has been sitting there since the evening of 11/19. I figure it would have shipped today, but no such luck.

 

My order status has been in "delivery preparation" since the 19th also, but when i call the 800 number to check on it the message says it was (not will be) delivered on 12/1. Being that this is only Nov. 22 that seems a little strange.

Have not received any notifications or updates by Dell regards to my order.
Obviously it's going to be delayed since it's been 'In Production' for over 3 weeks and there's 2 days left til EDD, unless Dell is able to ship this within 24 hours.
This will probably be my first and last Dell product I will ever buy - worst customer service ever, for Canada.

Oh and Canadian buyer here. If any other Canadians experiencing this problem then I feel sorry for you.
