Delivery dates for new XPS 15 Infinity

Just got an email that my XPS 15 shipped on Friday.. ETA was Jan 15th.. But now that its shipped it should be here in Ontario late this week!

Just got email today that it was Shipped on DEC 12.. Checked Tracking Number and it should be here this week... DEC 16th at the latest it should be at my door.

Still weird how dell ships out systems, I ordered mine the 11th of November.

 

When I called because they wanted to Cancel my Order because of the LCD panel shortage they put the new order in and Expedited the build process.. So I think that is the main reason that it was built very fast.

 

ordered 10/12 received 12/14 after countless hours on the phone and email
spent another 3 hours just to pay for it....couldn't even give them money

Sounds like they are finally shipping some systems, that's a good sign. Maybe mine will arrive before xmas break, that would be awesome.

 

They did ship mine next day. Basically this is the 3rd laptop they built for me. Every time they mess up, I pay the price. They put me at the end of the line every time they mess up. Not just that, production messed up my laptop 3 times, SALES messed it up twice. Each time I go to the end of the time.
Dell unfortunately has the most messed up process.

I ordered from dell website and didn't call or anything, guess they have parts in stock and everyone should have theirs soon.

@TriC @ninja_xxx My order is in the batch of 12.12 too! I just can't track the package from abroad. Supposedly it is to be updated within three days.. I'm waiting for the 24th.

 

Ugh! I'm so frustrated with this entire ordering process. I ordered in early November. My order was one of the ones that got cancelled with no warning then reordered. Now I see people that ordered after me getting theirs shipped before mine. Grrrrr! I just want my dang laptop

 

Yeah I know how it feels... I ordered on October 27 and I will only get my XPS 15 on January 11 if there's no more messing up from Dell

How Long was your Laptop in Linehaul shipping in the USA before it hit Canada? And what part of Canada are you in?

 

Process shows as "In Production" today with delivery time still locked in on the 29th.

For anyone who has a later delivery time, maybe dell got their **** together and got the parts that were on back-ordered and are now pushing out orders. A lot of people are getting there orders before the ETD so just hope for the best. Let me remind you Dell was never good at notifications on changes made to your order. I still tell myself I am an idiot for placing another order lol.

 

So i can finally track the shipment. Apparently it made it in three days from China to germany. Now I have to wait until it gets from germany (where i am actually from) to switzerland where I am at the moment. Now that shouldn't take too long.

 

Specs, order date? I'm from Italy. Ordered 1st of december, ETA 14th january...

 

Just got off the phone with Dell, they said there is nothing they could do to speed up my laptop and not to expect it before 1/6. Not sure how dell chooses to build computers, but I guess it's not chronologically based on order number/date.

I ordered the i7 4k 256gb 16gb on 12/3/15 but had to cancel and re-order on 12/7/15. Estimated delivery date was 1/5/16. It was shipped yesterday and I got it today.

Ordered a Dell XPS 15 9550-4444SLV (i7, 4K, 16GB, 512GB) Signature Edition online from the Microsoft Store at 12:15p and received a tracking number alert from MyUPS at 3:11pm. Not sure when delivery is scheduled yet.

The system was cheaper than what I could have gotten it for from Dell with my employer's member discount, plus the shipping was free.

Delivery scheduled for Monday, 12/21 or 21/12 for you non-Americans.

 

i7/512GB/4K ordered directly from DELL on the 10th of November. Got delivered today (Europe).

 

I ordered the i7, FHD, 512gb, and 16gb on 12/7/15. It was shipped out today on 12/17/15.

Well, Dell is up to their trickery again on certain models. I had an order made on 12/10 for a XPS 15 FHD, i7, 512gb, 16gb...credit card charge pending for a week, delivery date of 1/5.

Yeah, they just canceled it today without any notification. When I called they said it was canceled and immediately remade, but now with a delivery date of 2/4. She said the max she could offer me was a 40$ dollar discount. Well, I pushed the issue and threatened to cancel the order completely and she upped it to 70$.

I could just order a 4k touch model with the same specs. right now from microsoft, but I can't stand the scaling issues on high DPI screens and the battery life isn't looking so good enough for me.

Oh well, may I'll find a better deal between now and then, and maybe the linux functionality will be better by the time it actually arrives.

 

Hah good old Dell, never a dull moment with those guys. Hopefully you get it sooner than Feb though, that's a long ways away.

 

you can also asked them for next day shipping and expedite request on your order. It will shorten the estimate delivery date a bit.

 

I ordered mine through Dell Small Business if that makes a difference. I see the same configuration now says it ships in 6-8 business days.

 

Hummm, maybe it does. I ordered mine through the military purchase program. One would think all the queues would be the same, however I've heard they treat business customers much better than home users.

 

I ordered mine with a Dell Direct Partner (I think channel is the same as small business) but I'm still waiting for pc...

 

I ordered the exact same config on Nov. 12th. It has already been cancelled once on Dec 4th. After a few calls I was assured that mine was going to be shipped on Dec 18th (yeah...I'll believe it when I see it. It's today after all).

If they pull the cancel/reorder trick on me I think I'll go ballistic.

 

I can't believe they're still doing this. I bought mine from the Microsoft Store on Dec 5 and it showed up on Dec 9th. There shouldn't be any situation where they pull your order and reenter it, that's not acceptible.

On the flip side anyone in US/Canada just order from Microsoft. Although that only helps if you want one of the two configs they sell. (i5/8GB/256GB SSD/QHD or i7/16GB/512GB SSD/QHD). It seems like Dell is filling vendor orders at the expense of direct sales customers.

 

I would gladly order from the MS store, but I don't want a QHD screen. Just a bummer dell didn't forecast better.

 

I'm on hold with them right now...gonna ask for that and ask where the hell my new confirmation/order number is.

I was going to use the military 10% off an the XPS but it didn't subtract anything since the military discount won't apply to it. When I enter the coupon code it says: " Military: Save an additional 10% off on PC's, Tablets & Dell Branded E&A". So apparently they only give a military discount on the things they want to give a discount on....At least they ship to APO/FPO...unless you want to buy server or alienware desktops, because USPS can't handle size (learned that one the hard way!)

Every time I have ordered from Dell, it's always a huge pain in the ass. /sigh

 

I used the code SAVE10%BIZ and it worked on 12/07/15 to get me 10%off. They also had a special that day where they included 1 year of pro support free.

 

I was able to get a dell phone rep to apply the 15% veteran coupon on 11/11 to an XPS. It wouldn't work online but when I called them she gladly did it.

 

Well just got word that my XPS shipped. Looks like it should be here monday just in time for me to finish up my semester. I'm excited now.

Awesome, they must have got a big shipment of FHD screens in.

 

Hopefully fitment on chassis is good and no dead pixels, etc etc..

 

Is the military discount a limited time thing?

they can see if you're a veteran and then it lets you get discounts to numerous places. I don't know if the 10% will apply through the dell website, but you can likely have a sales person add it over the phone/chat.

 

Ordered the XPS 15 - 9550 last Friday 18th, been shipped today 21th, UPS delivery scheduled tomorrow - got 10% as well saying i was working for a bank lol
SPOILER ALERT : i'm in Europe & ordered the 512 gb / 16gb / 4k which was eligible for smart shipping (I guess it was due to all the cancellation muaha)

 

Mine (i7 - 4k - 16Gb - 1Tb), ordered on Oct 27 through the business channel, is now due Jan 11 (I'm also in Europe)... And Dell pretend they can't even change standard delivery into express delivery!
If there was an alternative available right now on the market, I'd just cancel and never come back to Dell, ever. Ever!

 

My XPS 15 finally arrived this morning. Ordered Oct. 30th and shipped Dec. 13th. Now I have to hope that everything works.

 

Damn ! sadly i was in the same situation, ordered it the 28th October, cancelled the 3rd November, ETA was Dec 11th, got postponed, then i cancelled it. Looked for an alternative, but eh, the Dell XPS 15 is unique for now, there are no competitors so far with this infinity type screen .... except the LG Gram 15 which will be announced at the CES in Jan 2016

Oh, in case anyone would wonder, I contacted DellCares on Twitter to see whether they could do something to speed up the process. Well, after 10 days of "we keep you posted", it appears that Dell doesn't care anyway. Standard shipping it is, and just be grateful they did only cancel the order once with no explanation.
