    It seems L502X for UK has the mobile broadband as default spec and for US it's just an option. The shortage of mobile broadband makes ours still "work in progress".

    Isn't the mobile broadband one of those free extra's that came with the set-up like the free McAfee for 15 months, because I would happily ring up and say not to bother with it.

    I contacted Dell (UK) about the delay and they said that the part was due to arrive tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see the change though...

    Good news is, that is was made in Ireland, so hopefully it will come in the next couple of days

    edit: Scrap that. It just went through Chinese customs. :p

    UPS. I misread my tracking information. It went for a world tour, through Korea, Kazakhstan, Poland and its finally now in Germany. Will be in the UK in the early hours of the morning, and hopefully be sent off for Friday or Saturday.

    You should have gotten the 1080p screen. That's the one upgrade you shouldn't skip.

    I would if I could have, but as a student I couldn't afford the extra £100+, but i'm still very happy with the package. All though I know the 1080p screen would have been amazing, i've read a few reviews and some people think the 720p screen is adequate enough.

    So you splurged all your available funds on this computer and didn't even bother saving up another £150 or so for the one most important upgrade? You're better off getting a different computer if the 1080p screen is out of budget.

    I've been using my dell latitude D510, for the last 2 months with an absolutely terrible screen. I'm 100% sure the 720p will be much better than that, and I think that an extra £150 for a nicer screen would be a waste of money when I could be spending money on more important necessities to survive at uni. e.g. alcohol. :p

    So you'd rather spend money on something that messes up your body than something that improves your ability to study by getting a higher resolution screen that lets you fit side-by-side windows?

    That's probably one of the most unwise decisions I've heard on these forums.

    Maybe you'll get lucky and get one of the not-as-bad-quality 720p screens, but you can't make up for the low multitasking-limiting resolution. Maybe it's no worse than what you had before, but you still missed out on the most important upgrade that makes more of a difference than anything else.

    edit. The tracking changed to destination scan, but then decided to change its delivery date to tomorrow. Rather frustrating.

    Dell never gave me a delivery date, just a estimated delivery date when I 1st ordered the laptop. UPS will give a much better date on the tracking service when your package arrives in Germany. My order arrived at the depot to late this morning to send out. Until tomorrow :(

    I was given an expected arrival date of today, the 18th. As far as I can tell it left Poland at five to midnight on the 17th and hasn't been seen since!

    Hope yours is working out Joel118 and am very relieved to hear that you've experienced no heating problems and are happy with the 720p screen (which appears to be getting a very bad rep).

    Yeah, I think at this point I've given up hope that I'll be getting it today. I've been looking at the order progress Joel post a page or so ago, and everything matched up in terms of hours between destinations (give or take) until it left Poland. If that trend had continued as expected, it should have arrived in the early morning in Germany around 3am. It could possibly have arrived there around 11-12 noon German local time if it didn't actually leave Poland until the following morning, which would be fair enough.

    However, it has been sitting in Poland, or in transit between Poland and Germany, for 12+ hours (6+ if it didn't leave Poland until the following morning) and that is kind of odd.

    To be honest, if they don't deliver tomorrow I won't mind waiting until Monday. The way my shifts at work are I'm off today and tomorrow and then back on again until Thursday. Today would be ideal, tomorrow would be good and after that it can come anytime it likes before Thursday and I'll be happy enough.
