Hi guys,
i used modded bios L702X_A19_Unlocked_Menus_&_updated_cpu_microcode_&_sharadeos_vbioses_version6_beta.rar
when i open Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility my advanced tuning is lock.
In BIOS when i try change clock from 22 to 25 if i back menu the value back to default.
Can someone tell me what can i do to unlock the CPU and change clocks and others...
thx for advice

use driverss that are not from dell, for example for inel gma use intel.com drivers, for nvidia go to nvidia.com, dell xps l702x is not bounded by dell drivers, you can install drivers from intel, realtek, nvidia exc... witch i do altough i use windows 7 not 10
-
in bios but probaly wont have any effect bcuz the cpu fsb is max 1333
-
Could you please clarify the driver I should install? I try so many from intel.com, but still get "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". Maybe link to the correct 8(
Thank you. -
earc with intel orgoogle inte hm67 and intel gma 3000 drver, and for audio realtek hda , thats all, mind you latets realtek driver, itis not that hard, also windows 10 pro works fine with driver anvailable for this laptop, currenty runing it, no "!" marks in there so, and it is not that hard

As I can see, you have different CPU - Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.0Ghz Quad Core Turbo Boost 2.9Ghz
My CPU - 2720QM Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.30 GHz)
Maybe that is the reason...( Intel didn't support it also... -
Just want to update that Dell support didn't help me again for free. Maybe there is a way to disable nVidia 555 and system will try to search for integrated video? Please let me know how to do it if it's possible, because it's impossible to unplug integrated nVidia adapter. Thank you.

Hi everyone, I'm intermediate in my experience with the use of laptops. I have an xps 17 here. Running Skyrim with full textures and about 100 mods. Problem is, it's running. fine. My task manager is showing around 20 percent cpu usage or less, my ram memory at about 50 perent usage. I am still loosing framerate because my stock 550 NVidia graphics card either can't support the graphics fully or its dedicated 56mb of graphics may not be enough. I am attempting to allocate ram to my intel integrated graphics card or my NVidia to try and use some of that leftover ram to reduce loss of framerate. I can't seem to allote this anywhere from my desktop. Also using f2 or f12 in the setup options brings me to my setup just fine but I can't find BIOS editing options. I have seen through my online searches, which brought me here, that this may or may not be possible. or might require a bios hack to access these features. If so I have no idea how to find this bios hack or if there are any risks involved in using it. If someone could give me a basic explanation of how to adust my bios or allocate my ram to my vram on my system or how I could go about hacking my bios to help maximize my gaming performance that would be awesome.

Hi. I will be reinstalling this notebook for a friend, and unlocked BIOS will come handy.
I have one question: is there any more recent version of the mod with newer ROMs, microcodes and such? -
Another question: does the unlocked BIOS allow for faster memory than 1333MHz?
-
Hi All.
I cant find were to download moded bios.
Can any one give me a link
And description how to install it )))) plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz -
It does, however you need proper CPU that supports such memory
capitankasar, Sharadeos
Is it possible to change BIOS on l702x to have XMP (extreme memory profile)?
Does modded BIOS have watchdog function?
ThanksLast edited: May 15, 2017 -
1、Thank you for your hard work so I can install Mac OS Sierra 10.12. There have a new problem cannot use the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, need a nullcpupowermanagement.kext to disable it. So could you please help unlock bios write access to MSR 0xE2 ,Thank you very much.
2、I had use the PhoenixTool to unpack the bios file,and find powermodule F7731B4C-58A2-4DF4-8980-5645D39ECE58_981.ROM replace the text 75 08 0f ba e8 0f 89 44 24 30 to eb 08 0f ba e8 0f 89 44 24 30.Then rebuild a rom file flash it,still not workingLast edited: Jun 17, 2017 -
Anyone know how to clear (or even view) the efi variables WITHOUT being able to boot into anything? Issue I have is that I accidentally zapped all but one entry, but that entry doesn't work to boot into anything. The bios still works, but I can't boot into any OS and there's no shell of course. I'm using the modded A19 bios, but Crisis recovery doesn't work since that just gets me to an older bios but the same entries.

Hello, this topic is probably a little inactive.
I have the XPS L702X with the modded A19 BIOS.
I found this interesting setting called TOLUD, after a little Googling I find this setting has something to do with the allocation of video memory.
My XPS has 12 GB's of RAM memory and the 2760QM Processor.
My question is if this setting will affect something or if it is changeable in my situation.
The GT 555m is a very ****ty GPU.
I'm hoping to see some reply! -
Hopefully somebody can help me out on this outdated thread and system which I am currently still using.
Since the stock A19 BIOS didn't support my RAM running any higher than 1333MHz with my 1600MHz cards I flashed this modded A19 BIOS so at least that problem is solved. Unfortunately since installing it my cooling fan is running unusual, even at idle. Fan even turning on at random and quite high while there is only 1-3% CPU load, which I didn't have before I flashed the modded BIOS. Also the system has been cleaned and re pasted with thermal paste so personally I don't think that is the problem.
I have been playing around with the processor and thermal settings but I still haven't figured out what setting(s) may cause this problem.
Could anyone maybe elaborate on the processor and thermal settings? or perhaps another setting that has influence on my cooling fan?
Settings on the processor management, everything the same except "Long Power Limit Time" being 0 (not my image):
Couldn't find any images of the actual thermal settings though.Last edited: Feb 21, 2018 -

Hi. Thanks you for the bios!
I wrote Oct 12, 2015 - I found and replaced the picture in the file 0C7F41A9-0A6F-43F6-A0D9-1E2D01DBD7BE_1788.ROM
Tell me, please - How to repack the wph file with the new Rom? What to set and click in the phoenix? I have the wph file ( L702X_A19_Unlocked_Menus_&_updated_cpu_microcode_&_sharadeos_vbioses_version6_beta.rar) and folder with dump ( after start phoenix):
-
I'm trying unsuccessfully to update the microcode of the bios in WPH format, I have already prepared the binary files with the up to date microcodes but I can not merge them in the bios in WPH format please help me
-
Now I'm able to update microcode on this laptop, stock and modded bios both, send me requests
-
Hey bud, have you got the modded A19 BIOS with the 550m GF116 overvolt, along with the updated microde? Also, is 0.92V really the limit
-
Give me the file to update and i will update it to the 2d version
-

I think this is the correct one, I can't remember if this specific file was the modded bios as it's been sat in a folder for a couple years but really want to just push that 550m as far as I can, and obviously the added benefit of Spectre/Meltdown being patched. Cheers bud -
Here you are, BIOS1.WPH updated to patch id 0x2D, so now it's Spectre Variant 2 Proof; try to flash this and let me know

Sorry I never got back, only just flashed the BIOS now, been a busy week, but I can confirm that Inspectre says I am indeed protected, thanks for that!

Hello someone can help me to get at least The bios SETUP page?
I flashed like 5 years ago this http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/l702x-modded-gpu-bios.641688/page-18#post-8933836
but after some months the F2 key to get in the bios does not work neither F12 to get Boot order, no problem until today that my system won't boot anymore
Actually my XPS17 started to show again the capitankasar's bios logo/progressbar (when booting correctly was just skipping it and go directly to W10 bootlogo as UEFI boot) but pressing F2 or F12 will show as i select the option (the words be lighter after f2/f12 press) but have no effect only a blanking cursor.
The only way i have to get something different is to deattach all HDD and put a bootable USB, at least it will boot from USB.
i've also tryed http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/l702x-modded-gpu-bios.641688/page-15#post-8930394 the ISO here with Rufus, but will show me a BSOD.
Taken the BIOS.cap file from this iso and tryed the powercord/end button method, but the progressbar of the BIOS will stop at 75%
Also tryed a CMOS reset (removed CMOS battery)
Any other help?
EDIT: i've finally fixed my issue running a random live ISO of windows (SPVN.86.7.PE torrent) and reflashing the bios via the bat/winflash (that seems will also reset all configs of BIOS that a battery remove seems does notLast edited: Oct 16, 2018 -
Prob safe to say everything is working great? I've been running the stock bios from dell forever.

Are those modified A19 with menus and microcode linked somewhere? I am looking for vanilla no vmod, with extra options and protections. @Dexter1983 are they stable? TIA.

@Dexter1983
or anyone who is listening. Does anyone have anything newer than L702X_A19_generic_Unlocked_Menus_&_updated_cpu_microcode_version6_beta? It would appear they have a fan issue and no Spectre/Meltdown protections. I have a couple of unmodded L702X I would like to unlock menus and add spectre/meltdown/ME updates. Any assistance is appreciated. -
L702X_A19_generic_Unlocked_Menus_&_updated_cpu_microcode_version6_beta
This is the very latest version from capitan kasar, the microcodes can be upgraded and i can help you. What about the fan issue? -
I read in the last ten pages a fan issue exists. It wasn't clear who is affected. I flashed the referenced BIOS and all is well.
If you can provide an updated copy with Spectre/Meltdown that would be awesome. If ME updates are available they too would be appreciated. Right now I have the vanilla + menus and (old) microcode on one system and am preparing to complete v+m+old mc + voltages on another. Thank you for your contributions. -
If you want i can upgrade microcodes on every bios, i can give you latest and previous versions of capitan kasar, with and without sharadeos vbioses, stock bios.
-
If you can offer copies updated with spectre/meltdown protections that would be great. Management Engine updates if available would be cool. Anything you have available is appreciated.

Collection of Bios for L702X updated with microcodes last version 2E July 2018, as regards the update of the MEI I have been working on it for a while with poor results, but I will not give up until I succeed. All bios should work anyway let me know. -
@Dexter1983 No problems are anticipated. The first is working well. Thank you kindly.
-
Has anyone tried to install a third generation "ivi bridge" processor? I would like to install a Core i7-3840QM!
If someone has this processor or similar I can provide him a bios with the microcodes for ivi bridge!
Let Me Know! -
@Dexter1983 I have problems with fans. After firmware
L702X_A19_generic_Unlocked_Menus _ & _ updated_cpu_microcode_version6_beta on my L702X laptop the maximum fan speed dropped to 3900 rpm.
The fan checked a year ago by changing the binary values in the program from this tred.
The maximum rpm with a change in values amounted to 5940rpm. I concluded that the fan itself is in working condition.
The problem is probably in the BIOS firmware for my L702X.
Under heavy loads with a temperature of 95 degrees Celsius, rpm cannot reach even 4000 revolutions.
How I can to return 6000 rpm at high loads?Last edited: Apr 30, 2019 -
I just have to ask you a question before answering: Why do you use version 6? Are you using RAID?
-
No
I use DDR3 1600 only in new features. But not planned to using raid -
Flash the version 5 with 2E Microcodes, let me know
-
@Dexter1983
Flashed the version 5 with 2E Microcodes
I observe microfreezes when loading a browser with 50 tabs (yesterday it worked without complaints)
When checking the Furmark stress test, the fan speed also does not exceed 3 916 rpm(test time 10 minutes, temps 86 C, turboboost off.)Last edited: May 1, 2019 -
What about stock bios? I mean the latest DELL Bios!
-
Flashed oficial bios A19 on L702X
unfortunately, fan steel does not exceed 3 916 rpm
hm.. It`s strange
Sorry for wasting your time -
Microcode 2F....is coming
-
@Dexter1983
Can you provide undervolted bios for l702x with GT555M ?
Sadly this version was ignored by modders ( -
HI Foxxer...
do you have a solution for this Problem? My fan will turn on high rpm at every time.. i testet everything (A19 / A19 Modded / A17 / A17 Modded / Speed Fan / New paste and dust removed) I dont know what to do temps are on 45°C on idle.. -
No
My temps in iddle:
cpu 47
gpu 51
chipset 37
New paste was changed 1.5 year ago
When Furmark running, gpu temp is 95 -
Do you have a long host file?
