Thank's spizzak, now my bluetooth is working, but my network controller still not working, I think that is wireless wifi, I can not find that driver, because my network adapter (Marvell Yukon and 1394 net Adapter) work properly, but I already download Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG, WiFi Link 4965AGN Network Connection but still not working

The only way I know of is described in a M1330 thread, but I'm assuming you've tried that, beyond that I dont realy know sorry.

    Nanang
I have the same hardware as you and the driver I used this one:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/149778

    Davisa
I'm using R168180, try that one. I'm assuming it worked fine before the xp install though correct?

no, that driver doesnt change the image.

yeah, the screen looked perfect before i reformatted xp onto it.

how exactly do i uninstall the previously installed driver to install the correct one? maybe im doing something wrong.

Is your resolution in windows set to the native resolution of the LCD panel?
Are those pictures from screenshots (printscreen) or taken with a camera?

Pretty odd issue, never seen that before. If games are running well (and you've tried so many drivers), it makes me think it might not be a video driver issue.

Edit - After you uninstall and reinstall a new driver, go to display properties > settings > advanced > geforce tab, and look at ForceWare version to make sure the new driver has been installed properly.

yeah thats exactly how i did the uninstalls.

resolution is set to native 1680 x 1050
pictures are from screenshots but thats just how i see them.
the forceware shown is 156.65 using the same R168180 driver that spizzak is using.

    am i missing something here?

That's really odd, sorry but I don't know what else it could be. The fact that your drivers are known good ones, and they are working for other people seems to suggest that the problem must be elsewhere though.

    I FOUND IT!!!!!

well i got so frustrated that i reformatted again and installed all the drivers in the same order that was posted earlier in this thread. blah blah blah i go to load up google and same fricken thing. the image looks like junk.

i get mad and look through all the other settings and in Dell QuickSet under Display Settings theres something saying Internet Explorer Scaling. under that theres a tick on a box saying IE Scaling - valid only for IE and when DPI is set to 120.

well i unticked it to see what would happen and what do you know?!? everything looks like it should. my last headache with putting XP on this thing is over with.

Just did a clean format, install of Vista HP. I decided to run a checkdisk error check at the next boot up.

Doing a full checkdisk, it goes thru all 5 steps but at about 77% of step 5 it locks up and I have to do a hard start to get out. I have let it set for over 3 hours and no movement, no HD activity.

Is this something that Vista is doing? Is there somethinig I need to disable? Or a driver conflict somewhere? Or .... is it the dreaded BAD HD?

I had something like that happen with my 1720, but managed to get checkdisk to finish by booting off the Vista DVD and running chkdsk /r /v C:
It didn't find any errors, but the /v let me know its progress. It took a loooong time. But then I discovered my hard drive was all full of restore points and shadow copies and didn't have much more than 20 GB left free.

OK so I tried the Dell Vista Disk, Booted from it using F12 at the Bios screen, but now do I get just to a C:/ prompt? It went to the install Vista Screen.

Thanks, Busted thru and did the whole bang.

Had to run it from Drive X: though, which was the drive that first appeared in the prompt window when I started it. I switched to C: and it would not run ChkDsk.

Only thing it errored on was at the end it could not write the log onto drive C: But no biggie.

Right after reading about your upgrades to xp Ive decided that I actually dont think its worth it any more. With service pack one and a nice overclock (with no temperature change) of 700 core and 825 memory im getting 3dmark06 scores of almost 6000 let alone the scores I have seen mentioned of 5000 on 3dmark 05. Also I would strongly say go for the drivers on this site www.tweakforce.com for your graphics card whether your using XP or Vista as they are tweaked for better performance. Thanks for listening! :)

    thanks for the help.

mrmarkwalker if youre used to xp and dont like the looks or feel of vista, as i did, then going to xp isnt that bad. if you have any questions about anything email me.

Anyone got an idea why I am being told that Nvidia 174.93 and .31 when I try to install either cannot find applicable hardware on my system.

I uppack the downloaded file, go to the new folder with the driver, double click setup file and a splash screen loads that looks like all is well. It checks for the hardware and reports it is not there.

Device manager says it is, and that it is using 156.69. I tried to uninstall that one and restarted, it then reinstalled 156.69.

I am guessing you mean the dell modded one.

Where on the drive would the modded one be? Windows folder or the location of the original driver unpack?

Where do I put it when I find it? In the new folder that is now containing the new drivers set up?

Actually I was working on the same thing. Look mate, if you are successful any time soon, email me and let me know. I know some people have problems with sites like rapidS and megaU, so if we can come up with such pack, I'll upload it to my server to make it easier for future users.

That's great to hear, my server won't hold up to the bandwidth use and those sites you mentioned are a pain.

I'm not sure if this will be preferred by users, but I've tried to get most of my drivers down to their raw state (so that they can be installed via inf)... to avoid driver induced bloatware when you install via exe. It will take more time via the have-disk driver install method, but will probably result in a cleaner final installation.

Anyway, PM me your email address if you want, and after the end of this week I'll shoot you an email with a version list of drivers (for ones that work anyway), and maybe some questions for you if my install doesn't go perfectly (if you don't mind).

I'm sure we can compile a perfect pack with a little bit of work. :)

So now I have xp loaded and all of the other drivers but cant get the sata driver to work. I have tried the sata drivers from this site and another site and cant get them to work they say my computer doesnt meet the minium requirements. Can someone please help me out. I really want to get this finished so I can use both xp and vista.

Well I did the install using a DVD made with nLite and slip streaming all the drivers into it.

It went through the entire install unattended and when I looked at the Device Manager all componenets had drivers installed.

However (of course there had to be one) I cannot get the fingerprint reader to work. It shows in the Device Manager and shows the driver loaded, but is not on the task bar.

Does everyone have it on the task bar? Was there anything you did to get it back?

I was having some issues suspending and after a reboot I was greeted with numerous error messages, one of them pointing at cfgmgr32.dll preventing BtTray to work. I found that cfgmgr32.dll was corrupted and got me a fresh copy. That fixed most of the problems but one.

Now everytime I boot or try to start QuickSet manually I get this error:

    "Quickset has stopped working"

And when I try to reinstall it the setup application says something like "system not supported" and doesn't let me continue

Has anyone had this problem? Should I start a new thread?

    Thanks

So I decided to change from Vista Home Premium into Windows XP Professional x64 on my laptop Dell XPS m1530

    -Guide I use http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread...nstall+xp+m1530
-Windows Professional XP x64 came as an .iso file from Microsoft itself a couple of years ago when I downloaded it from my Engineering school along with a valid CD Key
-Used Nlite to package the drivers listed below into a new DVD of Windows XP Professional x64 (DVD because it was over 800Megs)
    -http://www.mediafire.com/?7hwmn4yfjw2
    -http://www.mediafire.com/?f52jzgdv1ln
    -http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R133015&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=176922
-I kept the RECOVERY partition from Vista and made a 26GB partition for the OS and 150GB+ for storage
-The setup runs through with no problems (including these steps in their entirety: collecting information, dynamic update, preparing installation, installing windows, finalizing installation)
-After it restarts, it goes into bluescreen for a split second and reboots immediately
-I went into Recovery Mode or something with the Windows XP x64 disc on bootup and saw that there were 2 drives with windows, "C:\Windows" and "D:\WINDOWS" is this normal if I kept that RECOVERY partition of the original Windows Vista Home Premium?
-All settings are pretty much default from Dell and everything else. I don't know where I went wrong.

I would prefer to go to Windows XP Professional x64 since Vista has too many router connectivities issues, but I am open to going back to Vista Home Premium if there is no other choice. Help please. I would be extremely grateful.

    Edit
I went and ran the Diagnostics after hitting F12
    Error Code 0148
    Msg: Error Code 2000-0148
    Msg: Hard/Optical Drive 0 - incorrect status: 1E Error register: 0068h
    Sense information: (06-2880).
    Sense data: 70h 00h 06h 00h 00h 00h 00h 0Ah 00h 00h 00h 00h 28h 00h 00h 00h 00h 00h
The given error code and message can be used by Dell Technical Support to help diagnose the problem.
Do you want to continue testing?

I think it might have to do with the SATA driver, according to the guide, I was supposed to select a specific one, but that was for the x32 version. The .exe file for the Serial ATA: Intel Matrix Storage Manager, Driver, Windows XP x64, English, Multi System, v.6.0.1.1002, A05 from Dell only had 2 options which had (Mobile) next to them, one was with RAID one was without. I selected the one without RAID. All of the other options had (Desktop) next to them. Did I make the wrong choice?

Can anyone give me a clue as to why my XP install of on my DEll xp1530 drops the video driver almost every other time that I boot?

I have tried several forceware drivers (with modded infs) and they work for a couple of boots , then suddenly they won't load and I get the really slow screen re-draws which signlas (to me at least) that it has loaded a win xp basic safe video driver.

I then have to delete the display driver ( along with using Driver Sweeper set to remove all Nvidia video drivers) re-boot, and load the inf modded driver again.

I have the GeForce 8600M GT hardware in the XPS and am using the correct driver.

In my vista partition, absolutely no problem at all with video drivers.

I'm not after squeezing maximum framerates, I just need good 2D performance as I rarely play games.

If anybody has any ideas they would be most welcome.

    Cheers,
    bagginz

You still have to install the Touchpad software. Dell has the driver and the application bundled, but when you slip stream, it only does the driver, not the application. Just run the Dell Touchpad software and it should install the application.

    Hi

I've been using these XP drivers for couple of weeks and everything was fine until someday bluetooth stopped working. Tray icon disappeared and all I could see was error "cannot load btrez.dll". I've tried reinstalling drivers but after a few days the problem comes back. Any ideas ?

Are you sure these drivers are for the XPS M1530 by Dell? The file name of the zip file starts with M150.
I NEED xp drivers for this system...if these are not the right ones does anyone know where I can get them?

Unfortunately i've had problems with those drivers, most notably the wireless one. I had to find my own, and still at that once i got it working ive been having problems (see : http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3918674#post3918674)

To kanadianiceman, your wireless driver in that long post of drivers by you is a broken link, as well as the one below it.

yes, you can dual boot XP and Vista, provided u have the drivers for each...

Or my preferred way would be to get in Virual PC or similar, and get in Vista on that...

Are these the most up to date drivers for the M1530?

Surely newer drivers have been released since this post was last updated.

I am about to restore my system using the recovery DVD, and I would like the most up to date drivers for install when I do.

Possibly the OP can update the links for drivers?

Yes, some of them are whats available on Dell but some are bit older - The Intel wireless drivers for example. Newer versions are available now.

Check link in my sig for the latest.

If wireless does not work and you a broadcom wifi minicard BCM 94311mcg, this driver worked for me. Its a Russian site. just type in the code and download it or use goole to translate the url. I think those with a broadcaom wireless are the ones having problems getting xp driver.
see Put in the http and www yourself as I am not allowed to post url yet
