Where are you located?

 

IDK, when I was first building my 1530 with the Penryn on 3/14 it had an estimated shipdate of 3/18 so I don't know I still hope it will ship early but if they meet the 3/24 date then I'll be happy.

 

california and its shipping from reno nevada.

someone said they are built in asia i dont think they are. My friend got a latitude over the summer and it was shipped from nevada as well. I think they have different plants around the us most likely and they send from the closest one.

 

The Penryns has to be the delays because I got mine 10 days earlier than they projected if you see my review in my sig.

It is like the m1330 when they had trouble keeping up with the demand. The m1530 is extremely popular. The latest review in the April LAPTOP magazine that just hit the newsstand yesterday is not going to help anything. They gave it a GREAT review!

 

You should get yours quick as mine was shipped from Reno, NV too. And shipped FedEX instead of DHL.
I didn't know they had a warehouse or build center there? Anybody know about that one?

 

Oh dear - I can't seem to make up my mind if I shall order the M1530 or the M1330. But from what I can read in here it seems the M1530 is pretty good - so I will probably go for that alternative.. decisions.. decisions.. decisions..

 

I'd stick with it, I'm very happy with my decision I'm just an impatient person so I'm just again hoping they at least make the 3/24 date.

 

I ordered mine on 3/10 was suppose to be shipped yesterday but didn't. Gave dell CS some headache, called customer care and they told me it was a "shortage on paint" LOL. well it has a ship date of 3/24 and a deliv date of 3/26 . Dell is BS. All lies lies lies and more lies.... I cant believe this company. With business practices like this i can't believe they sell so much.... I got the delay status email on the date it was suppose to be shipped!!!.... outrageous..... its not like its a couple hundred dollar item its over a grand.... wow..... btw my color is alpine white and the cpu is T8300...... so anyone else get delays like this?

 

Not yet, I picked Tuxedo Black so let's hope not.

 

I picked Black, w/T9300, WXGA+, and nothing else special. Ordered on 3/11, original ship date was 3/18, and on 3/19 (today) I got the delay email stating new estimated ship date is 3/24.

 

the new T9300 cpu is what is holding up the orders... Dell can't keep up with the demand. I'm glad I didn't wait for it. I'll get one when the prices comes down in a few months.

 

Well i got black, and the T9300 and mine shipped today and was due to ship today. Maybe it would help if you guys said where you were from. Also it might depend on the screen resolution you asked for as well.

You have to think about the possible system changes that might cause it to be delayed.

 

Jacksonville NC and I picked the 16something x 1050 screen though mine hasn't been delayed.

im such a forum junkie in general and i never even look over there hahaha, i just read the stuff people put. I got my service tag # and i posted in the grainy screen thread. I will update you guys with what lcd i got. I am not 100% sure what i got yet but from what "i" saw its the newwer LG V2 panel but i could be wrong so dont quote me yet.

 

Just a quick note. I posted earlier, 3/10 got my delay notice 3/18 for esd 3/21.

i wonder if the NC guy and you have it coming from the same place and thats why it was delayed.

 

Mine wasn't delayed yet unless there's another NC guy. Mine was originally scheduled for 3/24 and so far it hasn't changed.

well i dunno if its widespread or not but i can say i ordered 3/11 and i got the 1680x1050 reso and mine is an LG panel.

 

Hello all,

I ordered mine on 3/10 and it was suppose to ship on 3/18. On the 18th I got an email form Dell saying it was delayed and the new ship date was 3/21. Today I got a confirmation from Dell that the order shipped with DHL and Delivery date 3/20.

I checked the tracking number and it is also being shipped from Nevada. I live in Arizona.

How do I check for the Tag number??? I had Dell email me my invoice but can't seem to find the tag number on it.

Anyway excited for it to come tomorrow.

 

All right just figured the tag number out.

I was reading some of the problems you where having with your 1530. I'm glad you got them worked out and ended up keeping one. Your posts are a big help to new people like me.

I have a good story about grainy samsung 1680 screen on xps m1530. I got a good one, so there's still hope i guess to get a good screen.

It came today.
The screen looks great and everything seems to be fine.
I'm having a bit of problem with the dvd/cd player. The first time I used it it made all kinds of racket, like something was in there with the disk. It wouldnt install the program and had to retry it twice. Seems to be working now.

SWD, how did you find your service tag information?

 

you have to call dell and ask for it

 

Once your order has shipped, you can request a copy of your invoice which will contain your service tag.

 

if you request an invoice it will take just as much time for you to get the service tag as getting the system itself. when it ships just call and ask them to give you the service tag # for your system

lol, dont ask I don't even think Dell knows what is going on with my order. I called today to try and get status, and they told me 4/1 was the new ESD.

 

I called today to check and thankfully it's still on for 3/24.

 

You should be getting some major SWAG for this blunder!

Check the tracking to make sure it is in fact on the way before you take the day off.

I know how you feel, I was pretty excited when I was getting mine and I'm not a kid either! LOL
