That has been done... but, expect an even longer delay as they have to redo the order.

 

I didnt get crap, even though I asked. Very dissapointed with Dell CS. Admittedly, theres not much to upgrade on my order, but maybe give me the sleeve i ordered for free, or something. Alas, nothing

 

Hello Jack. Yes confirmed with the tracking that it was coming today.

Looks like my dvd drive is bad. Dell support was great and they have a new one coming tomorrow and will be installed onsite here. Got a confirmation call just a minute ago confirming that the part shipped already.

Besides the dvd drive the system is great! The screen is crisp and sharp. And it is fast.

Wow, a hunk of chewed up white plastic just popped out of my dvd drive.

Running smooth and silent now.

 

I am anxious about this process. Does DHL require a signature. I have been home all week and go back to work on Monday. No one will be there to sign if it is delivered then.

 

They required a signature with my delivery. Had to do a pickup since I was at work.

 

Yeah they do cause I had to go in late today at work to wait for DHL so I could sign for my printer that arrived today.

 

Just got off the phone with my rep. She said she thought it would ship tonight. She checked this morning and it arrived from Malaysia. Now they just needed to get it to DHL tonight to get it delivered for tomorrow.

Come on Dell and DHL!!!

 

How do you guys get reps?

 

Was your unit manufactured in Ireland or Malaysia?

 

When I had to cancel my order and reorder I was assigned a rep.

 

Awww I don't want to have to do that but I do want a rep, that'd be cool.

What the heck was it??? The DVD still working???

 

I dont know what it was but it was running fine and about 1/2 hour ago I put a cd in and it started to grind again. Sounds like broken glass in there or something. I will just let them replace it tomorrow.

The piece that came out looks like a plastic version of a feather that would come out of a pillow. I dont know if that makes sense or not.

Plus I just ran 3dmark6 and got a 3900 score!!!! I have 5 year old laptops that score better than that.

 

Im downloading the newest version of 3dmark6 then I will reboot and run it again. Man 3900 for this rig is bad.

 

Yep 3dmark06 score of 3921.

Thats the lowest score in this class computer.

What a dissapointment.

 

Wow just loaded up eve online and it totally choked this system down.

well mine might be going back already. I turned it on and i can barley see anything on the screen if i look really hard i can see the terms and conditions screen for vista but i cant see or find the mouse on the screen to checkout th ethings to get to windows.

ANyone know why everything is so dark? and when i say dark i mean DARK.

 

Do you have it plugged in? or running on battery?

 

Can anyone else with the 1530 tell me what there vista rating is??

 

well im on the phone with dell now i got the LG but faulty lcd screen so hopefully the replacement isint a samsung i talked to the guy and the DW306 or the XK309 arent in the system just some generic code for the lcds. But he added it in the notes so hopefully i get lucky.

looks like since its past 5 they wont ship til tomorrow and no replacement screen til next week. so i guess im bummin.

Well I talked to Dell and got a tech guy who had such a heavy accent I almost couldn't understand him.

Anyway he said after looking at my systems configuration that my computer and video card are really just the minimum requirement for games. So I will not get good game results. LOL

I will just have to keep working on it because I really love this computer!

 

Just got the news my 1530's in the boxing phase so I hope it will be shipped out tomorrow and that way I can get the service tag. Now I call and ask for the tag and then I use it on the website?

 

That's whack. I am replacing my inspiron 9300 which has 2GB ram and 6800 go video card. I played WOW on it at 1920 x 1280 and it played great. Get drivers from laptopvideo2go.com. I'm sure they are better than stock dell drivers.

Bummer, no shipment today means delivery monday if it ships tomorrow. Hopefully soon with no more drama.

 

That really sucks... Tough to wait for a system just to have it arrive and not be able to use it...

I also wonder why the part numbers arent in the system anymore... There has to be replacement P/N's....

 

Your computer is far beyond the min spec for games, including Crysis. If you're getting bad performance, try a system profiling tool like SiSoft Sandra or Everest to test individual components so you can narrow your problem down:

I think it is probably the video card. I tried to update the drivers from nvidia but it said there was no card in my system to match their drivers. Seems these are custom drivers from Dell. I might try laptopvideo2go.com like Rockchok recommended. I would like to know how Jack got such good 3dmark06 scores.

And I agree with timewalk, this system should be good for games, I spent 3k with shipping and warranties to make sure it would run games well.

Again I hope you guys get your systems soon. I would rather deal with these problems than waiting for the system to arrive

 

Your 3dmark06 score is 400-500 lower than jack53's but usually the 3dmark06 score varies too depending on how long you had your computer on for... hotter it is, lower it scores... and try to put all the settings down to the lowest too.. oh and i doubt your 5 year old laptop scored higher in 3dmark06... you are probably talking about 3dmark03 or 3dmark05 but i doubt you scored higher on 3dmark06. dont forget to turn vsync off in nvidia settings!!!

 

Yeah i was super bummed. I was so excited to use it. I just hope to get a LG replacement screen and everything is A-ok.

The P/N they gave me is a generic part number for the lcd the rep said. They only had 3 available part numbers and they depend on which max resolution you get. BUt he put in the notes section of it about the DW306 or XK309 LG Panel.

However im sure that wont mean a thing when they send it off. I think if i end up with a samsung replacement and they hassle me at all about me not being happy I will likely just call them and ask for a new system and send mine back to them. I was shocked to get a system that was DOA. I was so excited to have got an LG panel to only find out it was busted . Goodluck to you guys and I will report back what happens next week once they come to replace it.

 

You know, I really would like to be an official M1530 owner with the unit in my hands and not just on paper. But, I check edthe status this morning to see if it finally shipped and what do I find?

My rep assured me yesterday that it was in from Malayisa and it would ship yesterday or no latter than today. I sure hope the Order status page is screwed up. Has anyone else got this message and it proved to be false?

 

No offense, but it probably means its delayed. Just call to confirm. I don't see how it would be false if you have yet to receive a tracking number or anything...

th3v0!d your right it was 03. What does turning off vsync do?? And I ran the test after running the computer all day, it was very hot.

When I get the dvd player fixed I will load a few non online games and check the performance. Dvd getting replaced tonight between 5-7 can't wait.

djtoodles if you got the lg the first time I would imagine that you should get the same one again. It seems the ones who had samsungs kept getting them.

Yes, if you did not purchase it originally, you can pick them up from Dell, or eBay. I don't think its too hard of an install, might want to take a look at the service manual.

 

Or you can just call Dell and order one. Dell told me they didnt' have a 'new' one but a 'refurbished' one and it was $11 / $20 shipped. Worked fine, just had to plug it in and Vista recognized it and configured it for me. Use mine for my bluetooth mouse. Love it.

cool saw some dell wireless 360 on ebay, supposedly its bluetooth 2.1

 

Dell just shipped mine today the est. ship date was 3/24 but it shipped today 3/21 i will get it by 3/25 and i gave birth to a LG display w00t DW306 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY..., 15.4WSXGA+, TLF, LGP, V2 ..... i dont know why some of yours are getting delayed even more....

I do plan to get a t9300 to replace the T7500 I have now when I get the Vista Ultimate 64bits and one more GB of memory in the next 2-3 months.
