I just ordered the WXSGA+ screen when configuring the laptop. Took forever to arrive though.
-
does anyone have the dw306 display and think its good? i havent seen much ppl posting about that display
-
its an LG panel probably the newwer or older version of the XK309.
-
I have the dw306 display, and it looks great. Best I've seen.
-
I have the DW306 also and it is outstanding.
-
I just receive my 1530 with the dw306. The screen is amazing. Much better then my dv6500t HP. And I thought that was a very nice screen as well.
-
seems like everyone who ordered about the same time or after me 3/11 has all got the DW306 screen. glad all yours worked though
mine the backlighting was broke. Hopefully tomorrow it will all be settled.
-
Mine was ordered on 03/15, went into production on 03/15 and shipped yesterday with a Samsung RW985.
-
oh well that sucks. your sig says LG.
-
That's because I bought the LG LCD from Dell Parts...
-
All 8600M GT's are DDR3 in the 1530 , download rivatuner as that also confirms it.
-
DW306 looks great here.
-
Yeah......
Mine Came, Its Here, At Last
Its Awesome -
CONGRATS!
Did you get everything that I listed in my review in my sig? -
Yeah, and a little more it came with a 14day trial of Lord of the Rings Online
hey mine is almost exactly like yours except i got it in Alpine White and i got a 200gb hard drive and the 1680x1080 screen -
Sounds like a great one!
Is that a 7200rpm HD?
What screen you get... LG hopefully. -
Yes its 7200 and it is a LG and its beautiful
i just wished i had a nice camera to take pics of it, all i got is a Camera Phone that takes cruddy pics -
Well... I'm happy for ya!
-

Hi all, Im thinking of buying a M1530 just a very basic spec, to use as a portable laptop for my wirless etc. Just so I can take it around the house and use it for basic internet browsing etc.
Is it a wise choice?
I have my M1730 for games and more intensive stuff, which I use as my desktop replacement. Was just looking for something more portable now.... -
ifti, I have both and I am glad I have them. I use my 1730 for gaming and being a desktop and I use the 1530 for everything else. The 1530 is a well built and nice machine.
-
^^^
cool, cheers
What specs did you get? -
Yes it is a very Wise choice, its an excellent laptop
-
Im only looking at basic specs, is there anything I should be aware of? Any known issues to check over? The best deals etc?
-
VISTA is the only issue i can think of
-
nah, Im using Vista with my M1730, and have been using Vista at home for several months now with no problems whatsoever, so Im not concerned about the OS etc. I just meant, are there any hardware errors to look out for? Ive heard of hinges being bent etc? Is that true??
Also, does anyone have any pics of the underside? Where are the vents/intake fans?? I will be using the system on my lap, will that cause any issues?? -
I heard that fan blows directly down so it might not be comfortable using it on the lap
-
well i took the day off for the tech and what do u know samsung screen so dell wants to just replace the system. however i was originally sent an lg and yet if i goto dell parts i can get the LG screen so im on hold now for 30mins waiting to talk to someone to try to resolve this. before i was patient now im just pissed. let you guys know how it goes.
-
Does the laptop get very hot under normal use? What kind of temps would I be looking at??
Im actually deciding on whether to go for the 1530 or the 1330 - since I do like the extra portability of the 1330 TBH...... -
Does the sleeve/case come with the laptop, or is that an extra cost?
-
The fan blows out from the back, not the bottom.
-
Yes it is included. To see all you would get when it comes to YOUR door, check out my review in my sig.
-
Is the intake at the bottom though?
-
Yes, the intake is at the bottom.
-
wow...first post...last 2 months i got 2 m1530 (me and the wife)! anyone ever get that "click" on the left side of the laptop? i get a click which kind of sounds like closing a CD drive...but since its a slot-load...idk what it is...
-
Here's a question.
Is it recommended to buy a laptop bag if you want to transport the M1530 around?
Because I was planning on using the sleeve that dell provides with it and place it inside a regular messenger bag. Good or bad idea? -
u sure its not the HDD clicking? if so you might have a bad hdd.
-
im not sure...but maybe it is...it only happens when i'm idle but haven't really noticed it in a while...
-
I bought a bag anyway but be careful. I bought a Timbuk2 messenger, medium off of ebags.com. It won't fit. It's too big by half and inch. I ordered another from Dell's site, one that you select when configuring the M1530, but it hasn't arrived yet.
-
I have the one from Dell's site, the Belkin black and grey.
Its a great little bag. I really like the power cord holder that comes with it.
Its a small bag, the laptop fits in it perfectly and room for mouse, cord, ect. -
I can officially post here as a 1530 owner, got mine yesterday and man that thing is so cool. I love it. The LG screen is awesome as well. I hate being at work now cause I just want to go home and play with it some more.......the Laptop I mean....I've only had 1 problem but it's very small, I got the bluetooth keyboard and mouse and headset, the headset and keyboard work fine but I can't find or make the passkey for the mouse and often doesn't connect unless I do it manually but when it is connected everything works great!
Oh and I have the Belkin Grey & Green Backpack from Dell, really cool. -
Whats the main difference between the 1530 and the 1330? Just the size?
-
i do hear some clicking sound from left side (hard-drive) I think. mostly when I kind of dropping the laptop suddenly (is this the sound of free fall sensor?)
I also got the dw306 (LPL010F) LG screen, it's really beautiful. Love this laptop. -
My Specs:
Midnight Blue 1440x900
2.4 GHZ Santa Rosa
3GB RAM
200GB 7200 RPM HDD
Intel 4965 AGN
256MB GDDR3 Nvidia 8600M GT
I forgot to get the Bluetooth module when I ordered. Now I am trying to figure out how to get it.
Also, this is a very nice machine, but I regret not considering the M1330 more. But it is a good compromise between portability and DTR. -
Im leaning more towards the 1330, just for portability sake. I dont think I will get the highest spec, since I have the max spec M1730 (in sig). I just want it for basic web browsing etc...

That's my config. Payed 2650. What do you guys think. My estimated ship date is 4/3. Do you think it could end up at my doorstep in New York earlier than that? -
Im pretty sure it will, how'd you pay so much? I got pretty much the same thing with a t9300 and i paid ~$1750. I just cracked the box open and this thing truly is beautiful, I have the LGV2 screen (KR515) and it really is nice. I dont see myself getting to bed in time for work tom. -
At this point, I'm just excited and not sure what to do with this damned thing lol.
