Tell me what you think. I was also wondering if yall think that it will be made and delivered sooner than that? Also doesnt the M1530 come with the fingerprint reader also? -
I was told that the FP reader was an option (by a trusted source), but I think he may have been wrong. There isn't an option for it AND on the 1330 configurator it is now a free upgrade.
-
the vlog on dells youtube the guy said that its standard so i think it is

I found a great review for the m1530 http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/notebooks/0,39050489,42299395p-3,00.htm. The m1530 got a 4,290 on 3D Mark 06 which is awesome! Just anxiously waiting for a higher res screen to come out..
-
CNET still gave it a Editor's choice though.. Obviously a good choice for a gamer. -
Yeah, that review was with the 6 cell battery though.
I am sure you could squeeze another hour with the 9 cell -
One question that I couldn't figure out from the Dell website:
Is the blu-ray disk drive just a BD ROM (read only) drive or can I "burn" BD's with it? -

How exactly do TV tuners work? I'm wondering if I should have bought one with my m1530...
-
they just make ur laptop a TV with cable pretty much...they hook into like a usb port and then u hook the tuner up to ur analog cable...then basically u can watch TV on ur laptop
-
TV tuners that can be bought with M1530 are external USB TV Tuners. You can always buy them separately. -
Wow, thats kind of cool. So say I had to work and i was going to miss my favorite show, I could record it on my laptop? Would I pay a monthly fee or something?
I'll have to look into this when i get the Dell Giftcard.
Thanks for the responses :] -
ya u could record it on ur laptop and set it to burn to DVD...
No FEE!! -
Now that a lot of you have your own M1530, do tell us about it here. Eagerly waiting for your experiences!

CNET Review leaks upcoming 1440x900 resolution for Dell XPS M1530
"...Dell is currently offering only a 1,280x800 resolution LCD display, but our review unit had a slightly higher native resolution, 1,440x900 screen, which
Dell says will be rolled out as an option in the coming weeks..."

-
I ordered one on Saturday. I hope it has the 1440x900 screen.
-
just ordered mine. really excited but the ESD is in febuary
-
If you need the high resolution screen, you need to call and order. There is no way you can order it over the web for now. It takes a few calls to get it to the right salesperson who can do this for you. Unfortunately the high resolution screen costs more and will be delivered in March 2008.
Update: I heard my friends getting confirmed orders for 1440x900 resolution CCFL to be delivered before end of January 2008. -
Thanks for the info.
I'd like to swap the video card with my E1705 after it arrives as this is my backup computer. (Not used to back up data though) I have external drives for that. -
Hey guys,
Is it true that the power cord plugs into the side? Does it get in the way much?
Thanks. -

I saw something on this forum regarding getting 1GB of ram from dell and then upgrading it cheaper later from newegg or something. I cant find that piece anymore. But I was wondering does anyone know exactly what kind to get? I wouldnt want to get the wrong one. This is for the m1530

-
Ordered mine today.
White, 256MB 8600M GT, 2GB, 160GB 7200 HD, Sound Blaster Audigy, Webcam, N card
How did I do in terms of price?
-
how did you get that much off?!
-
half price 1530?? how did you do that??
i ordered mine on 7 dec, anticipated delivery date 18 dec, got a call saying it was coming on 17 dec, and it didn't arrive on that day. then i get an e-mail saying it's been delayed until 27 dec - so i call dell to ask them what is going on? they said they'd call back, never got a call.
and then the laptop turns up on 18 dec (as originally expected!). a bit annoyed that they give you the runaround, but very happy with the timing overall (since when i ordered it, the website said it'd take 4-5 weeks!).
very happy with it so far - still yet to fully explore it though. -
$669 off then applied an additional $25 OFF 500 Coup. -
