I downloaded magician. It recognized my drive said a fw update was available. I then updated the fw and restarted and when I opened magician again it said not genuine etc. Then I downloaded the nvme driver from Samsung and installed and it recognized the drive again and said on latest fw etc.

This is such a joke, I uninstalled all Samsung drivers, ie switched to Microsoft drivers and tada...now Samsung Magician can find my Samsung SSD again and now it is genuine and supported. Can we really trust a company that make such crappy software to produce good hardward?

I don't have a 960 Pro, I have a PM961. I also have never had a use for Samsung Magician or any other SSD utilities out there.

Tried undervolting today and took the cpu down to -125mv. Been runing prime95 and seems stable enough but i notice that the cpu clock is only 3.4ghz. Any reason why this could be? I have enabled speedshift in throttlestop too.

Same for me on 3.4ghz speeds - I think it's a thermal thing, it's on one of the threads on this group.

Did you try running the above on power? I managed to get mine to -100 stable and no BSOD when pulling the power cable out running p95. If I go -120 and run p95 and unplug I get instant laptop shut down.

Again I think I read somewhere on here that it's to do with a limitation in how the components regulate power. Might not be a big deal but probably something you want to test for!

I was fairly certain that was the max turbo boost with all 4 cores active. If you do one core it'll go up to 3.8, two cores will go up to 3.6...

I've been running the windows 10 creators update for a few days now and I haven't had a single graphics glitch on my 4k model. Looks like the issue is resolved for me.

Driver 21.20.16.4574. With same driver it was regularly glitching previously

    Max performance probably requires:

    * EPP=0
    * Windows Power Options "high performance"
    * Dell Command-Power Manager "ultra performance"

My first HA130PM130 marked 1612 (dec 2016?) is a bit noisy, then battled with tech support for a new one. At the end they sent me another without requesting the other back.
It's still HA130RM130 marked 1611 (nov 2016?) and IS silent.

If I wanted to buy an XPS w/ the following:

    1080p
    97 battery
    7700hq
    512 SSD
    fingerprint reader

Where would be the best place, pricewise? I'm willing to wait. Any good coupons pop up?

I tried to get this in the UK, they would not customise CNX9606 to include the fingerprint because its ready to ship, They suggested the business model which would have been ~£300 more, so I ended up using double discount codes and going for the CNX9604 and having them add the fingerprint and 10 Pro for about £1530.

EC updated to 1.0.5 (from 1.0.2)
IME updateed to 11.6.12.1212 (from 11.6.101..1142, this is a big update)
TI port controller 9.0.0.8 (from 7.0.8.D)
Sys board map 1.0.1 (from? may not be an update)
PCR0 XML 0.0.0.1 so I doubt this is an update either

Substantial changes to the BIOS so this is not just a thunderbolt stability, lots of ninja fixes they didn't want to let the public know so we don't go looking for problems.

    Going in....

Did they fix the fan issue? I've held off updating to the latest BIOS because people here reported the fan spins up beyond what is reasonable at startup. Also, that's a lot of changes to a system that is mostly working fine as it is (my main complaints are the screen flickering and sound issues, but both are quite rare).

Funnily enough this was the 1st thing I checked, during the 3rd part of the update where the EC controller gets updated it didn't surge, instead ramped up normally. When it rebooted it just hung on the BIOS logo for a few minutes, dunno if I should have waited but it did it again until I forced it off, then a 3rd time so I rebooted and kept my finger on the fn key, it then rebooted itself and worked.

No fan surge rebooting the system with the fans already running, fingers crossed that's fixed then :)

The system may have been doing a thorough check due to the major updates so it may be best to go make a drink or spend 10 minutes surfing on he phone rather than force reboots.

Same happened to me - it hunged on Dell logo each boot, couldn't enter the BIOS.
Thanks for a Fn key tip :) Now it works fine.

Heres an idea, ditch that benchmark :p

Ok get DDU from guru3d's site and wipe out intel and nvidia graphics as you may have the issue I had and made note of in my ISO thread, after it's cleaned both drivers instal intel, reboot then nvidia and try again.

Hi everyone! I got some questions:
I ordered the fullhd version with the 256gb pcie ssd so is it correct to say that i can add another 2.5 hdd? And if so it's a normal 2.5 not a slim one right?
The Dell confirmation mail tells me that I will receive it on 26 of this month, is it possible that it will arrive first?

Thanks Gonzo. I deleted the drivers and reloaded them, then had to tell Nvidia in the control panel to use the 1050 card as a preference. The benchmark results look a lot better now thanks!

There will be space for it if you have the smaller 5xWh battery, but you'll need a special cable, rubber rails and a mounting frame. Google it up, all posted xx times before. Regularly slim 7mm drive only; some report 9.5mm fits without the rubber rails.

You have no alternative SSD driver for the Liteon
Ha, Dell actually fixed what the BIOS advertised :D

They really have updated a lot looking at the updates it lists, unsure why the decided to keep quiet. Glad the fan issues fixed as well, that was a pita.

New BIOS 1.2.4 is running well for me too. Upgraded this morning, had no problems rebooting the first time, and have not experienced any problems yet. No fan issues either. (I had skipped the early update, thanks to warnings from GoNz0 and others here!)

With the Killer Wifi and Intel driver updates, and now the Bios updates, 9560 seems pretty set and stable ... hopefully Windows 10 Creators update later this month will keep it that way too!

Any other new and useful stuff for our xps 15s--like that pop up message to charge your phone--you've found on the creator edition?

I suggest you do schedule some time to backup your info (even if you do have to partition your drive to store the info) as a major upgrade like this has bugs, I did the upgrade as a test and some things were not quite right until I clean installed.

As for useful things, nah nothing really, just stability such as 2 finger scrolling no longer stops in Chrome with Kaspersky installed, this was the main reason to upgrade for me as I had lived with this known issue for months!

The laptop is come back from Dell.
    MB and wlan module replaced.
Now i want do a fresh installation.
My questions are: the drivers on the Dell's website are the last and are good??
And, about 630 and gtx, what are the best drivers that you can suggest to me to install?
On the dell's web site there is a new 630 driver named 4574_A01. Are they good?
    I hope in a reply

No disrespect but this has all been covered before, install the wireless then leave the laptop to download everything from windows update. Then get the new Nvidia GTX drivers from nvidia and the 4590 drivers from Intel's site.

    @GoNz0
    thank for the reply.
I know that there aren't disrespect. I never say that.
Well, on Dell's website there are the "Killer-Wireless-1435-1535-WiFi-Driver_0YRDT_WIN_1.1.68.1346_A03" driver
but i have also the old "KillerSuite_1.1.67.1760_Win7_Win81_Win10" that work well.
    Are the last good?
And... are good those to put inside the usb drivers
"64bit Intel RSTe AHCI & RAID drivers v15.2.10.1044 WHQL"
I need to install extra NVe driver?

Raid drivers are current, extract to usb and if it can't find the nvme drive load the driver when prompted and point to the inf files.
Killer are up to date on Dells site, no need for the suite, it's crap.

Hi all. A few general questions:

Which Dell software should be uninstalled if you are not going to do a fresh install of Windows 10? Do you think you should remove all the Dell software (Dell connect, digital delivery, foundation services, support assist etc) or would you save any of them like premiere color and Dell Update ?

Also, I read that you can't simply just click for the latest drivers and have them load automatically but you have to manually load them. Which drivers should I manually update right now? Do you have links to those specific drivers? When I went to Intel's graphic driver page there were multiple choices so I got a bit confused. Once I'm at the right place for the driver download, do you have a link you trust that lays out the steps for how to update the driver properly?

Do you recommend Intel Driver Update Utility?

Sorry to ask so many questions at once and I have found tidbits of info on this stuff reading this whole thread but I'm still not exactly sure on the above.

    Thanks!

Remove everything except premier colour in my opinion. All the rest waste resources or tell Dell what you are doing.
Just browse the updates page for your service tag once in a while or keep up to speed on these forums.

Intel drivers 4590 64 bit zip file.
