I got my XPS M1530 yesterday. I already reformatted and just finishing up some drivers and utilities before I do a disc-image.

I love this machine! It runs really really well.

Ordered through Dell Canada on July 7th (with a reported 18 days delay on 9-Cell batteries), an Estimated Ship Date of August 22nd, and delivered on July 16th.

I got my XPS M1530 today. I ordered it on the 17th and it came on the 22nd. It's got a T8300, 4 GB RAM, 8600 GT, and a four year warranty. I'm still trying to get it optimized and stuff. I think I'm going to follow the instructions for Vista Tweaks.

 

Wow, I ordered an XPS M1530 on the 15th and it's still in the "Production" phase. Starting to lose patience.

How long did it take after it was "Shipped" to reach your door?

Well I got my 1530 a few days ago and I love it!!!! I did a clean install of vista 64 bit and tweaked my system........its super fast!!!! As for the faulty nvidia chips......no signs of it on my laptop

 

Received my 1720 yesterday, ordered on 7/9.........................

 

Well I came home from work at lunch time and there it was waiting for me.. [specs in sig]. So I set her up (only had an hour to spare) just got things running. Aside from vista's million-and-one security alerts [turning off UAC asap], I did find the laptop comfortable and visually pleasing. I did try to run a game on it and got an error, some display file corrupted and recovered.. which worried me as the screen flickered. I'll sort that out later though.

Can't wait to spend some quality time fiddling with it!

 

After way too much time researching and waiting, I finally ordered my laptop on Sunday. I followed a link someone here posted, used my EPP discount, plus a coupon and the 4% DPA discount, and the total came to a few hundred less than I'd been seeing. Here are the specs:

the link sent me to the configuration menu at dell and had limited options but luckily the options that were available were the ones I wanted!

 

Recieved my 1720 about 2 weeks ago, waited to post this until I was familiar with it. Overall, I love it. The black cover is a MAGNET for fingerprints, though. Fully equipped minus 640GB drive, BT, and WUSB. In my own opinion I don't need those. I've got a 500GB external that serves backup purposes, and nothing I have supports BT except my cell phone. Back to the laptop, it's great. CPU is quick, GPU makes effortless work of games, RAM adds a lot of speed. The BluRay drive looks GREAT on the HiDef screen, shame they aren't offering the combo on the machine anymore. Oh well. Overall, a wonderful machine.

 

i was never able to get my 700m to run right, eventually dell replaced it with a new m1330. kinda nice, lots of slick **** going on that is completely wasted on me as it is just a spare computer... not bad for 300 bucks

 

I ordered my XPS M1330 the 1st of August, ang got it yesterday – total time ordering–delivering: five days. Quite good.

I got it with the 9-cell battery, T9300 processor, 4 GB of ram, LED-display, 64 GB SSD and the (compared to the other hardware) quite poor 8400M GS. I ordered with Vista Ultimate, soon to be upgraded to 64-bit version.

I used it for five-six hours yesterday, and so far I'm loving it. No gaps in the construction, not too noisy (except for when inserting a DVD, gees!) and nice with a remote control.

Now I'm just hoping I'll stay satisfied.

Looks like nice specs. Let us know how the sound and touchpad work. Note the temperature of the palmrest area where your right hand lies. Also, does your screen suffer from odd color or color banding?

The Studio is sexy as hell, but has a few things keeping it just below spectacular.

I'm loving the ultra-sharp and bright screen, makes my old Asus A8Ja's screen yellow and dim. The speakers are nice, beats the average ones. When I ordered the laptop I didn't know that the keyboard is backlit, until I turned it on for the first time - a nice surprise. Likewise for the small Logitech LCD which is quite useful, and there are plenty of homebrew apps for that on the Internet.

The LEDs are nice, but the LightFX doesn't work with the music players, made them all stutter while the LEDs struggle to animate. Dell really needs to fix this.

The media buttons work well with Windows Media Player, but not with iTunes - the playback controls don't work if the iTunes window is not in focus.

Gaming has been nice so far - the best game I have at the moment is just "Half Life 2: Episode One", but gosh, with SLI enabled the graphics is stunning. Will be playing more after my exams next week.

Just bought my Inspiron 13 yesterday at Best Buy. For the price, this thing is pretty sweet.

It's small, loaded and cheap. It is exactly what I've been looking for in a laptop since I ditched my Macbook last year.

Hey guys.. I ordered the Dell M1530 on 23rd September and its already showing "Shipping from Factory"

The first 3 steps i.e Order Received, Work in Progress and Manufacturing Build is complete.. In about a day!!! Hows it possible? Hopefully there is nothing wrong
