I just received my Inspiron Mini 9 on Tuesday. It's everything I hoped it would be. It's the entry level model.

    White
    Ubuntu
    512MB RAM
    4GB SSD
    No webcam

So far, it's a great little machine. It's small, cheap, has good battery life, a decent keyboard and is plenty quick for its purpose.

    Inspiron 1525 basic - $479 on Dell

First I bought 3 $100 Dell Gift Cards on EBAY for $84.99 each (BIN) = $254.97

    Then I got 30% Live.com Cash Back - $76.49

So I actually got $300 worth of Dell Gift Cards for $178.48!!!

So with the 3 $100 Dell Gift Cards plus $179 the total cost of my Laptop is $357.48!

    Cant beat that

Hi everyone I just "joined" the Dell forums!
I bought my first Dell from BestBuy for about $549.99 (it was on sale).
Its actually for my mom, and she really wanted one for about 1.5 years and I finally bought it for her :p
Specs are in my sig, but if they dont show up here they are:

    Dell Inspiron 1525
    intel Pentium Dual-Core T3200 @ 2.0GHz
    3GB RAM
    160GB HDD
    WiFi (pretty standard these days)
    intel integrated graphics
    DVD-RW drive
    8in1 Media reader
Glossy 15.4" WXGA high-definition widescreen display with TrueLife technology and 1280 x 800 resolution (whats the diff?)

I'm glad it came with the Windows Vista DVD, as well as driver disks.
One mistake I did was that I did not buy Office 2007 Student for $50!!! I wish the guy was more friendly and actually made sense. The only reason why I declined was that I had no idea what he was talking about, until I went home and thought about it :(
I bought this laptop for her because this the one she wanted. I was going to buy her something really awesome with Webcam, 4GB RAM, dedicated graphics, more HDD space, better processor, etc. but she didnt want any of those things. Later my dad was like, "You should have gotten the one with Webcam" hahaha. Its alright though, shes really happy (so am I) and the laptop is built really well.
The laptop is made with ok quality materials (but time will tell) and screen is very sharp. Its also very fast as well, even though it has a less powerful processor when compared to my hp dv9500. Same clock speed, just less L2 Cache. I think its because she has that extra 1GB of RAM.
I feel as if the laptop's finish is going to degrade within 1 year... where my hp's glossy finish is still holding up great. I wish the Dell was glossy as well, so the paint wont rub off or something on the palm rests and the keyboard.
Overall though, I think its a great laptop and its pretty light, when compared to my dv9500 (duh, 17in vs 15.4in) and compared to my sister's tablet.

I got a really good black friday deal at Best Buy on my new XPS 1330. Only $849 (that's $250 off b/c they take $50 off with 18 months no interest, which is cool) for T8100, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, 8400GS, Bluetooth, B/G/N.

I was considering waiting for the new XPS and Studio XPS laptops to come out, but I thought that this deal was just too good to pass up. You can't ever get one that cheap on Dell.com. And Dell's cost-cutting measures sort of make me worry about the future quality, but we'll see about that.

Don't know if this is a true deal or not but I got a refurbished Dell Studio 15 for $602 from the outlet last Monday--delivered by Friday.

It is Ruby Red with Pentium Dual Core 2 T5750 2.0 processor, 3 GB ram, Windows Vista Premium, WXGA LCD (AUO looks great!), 320 GB Harddrive, 256 MB ATI 3450 video card, built in fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, 2.0 webcam, slot load DVD burner, built-in bluetooth and a free Dell wireless bluetooth mouse.

I sold my HP dv5z for nearly $600 and bought this one. I really think it was a deal for me and what I need. I know it's not the most recent processor but it's really speedy and works great. Only issue has been a finicky trackpad and a little bit of a running fan but I have decided it's not something bad. It looks mint except for a couple very tiny scratches on the wrist pad.

Just placed my order yesterday, and I can't wait to get it! :D

I'm still using my Inspiron 600m 1.3ghz I first purchased almost 6 years ago, so I can't wait to see what it's like to use a newer computer.

    Here are my specs:

    XPS M1530, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.5GHz/800MHzFSB, 6M L2 Cache)
Midnight Blue Casing With Microsatin Finish XPS M1530
    4GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm, for XPS M1530
15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA+ TrueLife LED LCD with Camera for XPS M1530
    256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
    250G 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium Edition, English
    8X DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive for XPSM1530
    Integrated High Definition Audio 2.0
    Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini-card
56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion P Primary Battery, for XPS M1530
15.4 inch Blue Wide Screen WX+ LED TrueLife LCD with 2.0 MP Camera for XPS M1530

Saved almost $700, and got a free GPS out of the deal, so I had to go ahead and place the order.

Will I be pleasantly surprised with my new system? :)

Got my XPS M1530 the other day. Love it. I can't use it until Christmas though! Only 9 days... :(
I think the Dell Dock you get with it is a really cool accessory, there are no icons on my desktop! Does anyone know If you can download alternate themes and Icons for the Dell Dock?

Can't wait until I can use it. :)

Got my 1537 yesterday and I must say I'm very impressed, it seems like a very solid notebook. After i made a few tweaks it was running top notch. The only complaint i have is the flex in the keyboard, but I will get used to it eventually.

    Specs:
    Intel C2D T5800 (2GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB Cache)
    3GB DDR2 800Mhz

I hope so, there seeems to be alot talk about the screen resolution, not sure if I undersatnd the concerns. In any case this unit is more powerful then my current Alienware 900k.

I've been looking at getting one too soon. Not sure if I should bite the bullet and pay the premium to get it now or wait a few months and get one from the outlet. The Full RGBLED will be a must, not sure what I want to do on a processor yet. I'd really like 6MB Cache, but not sure if its really worth the extra $$ yet.

Yes, there is lots of talk about the screen res'! But, think of it this way; you may be one of the first members on the forum ~ to actually receive the 1640, and check it out for yourself! And, you will make the best choice on that! :D

Then, you can give that factual feedback! ;)

I just got my Dell the other day. Picked it up out of the outlet, must've got lucky because once I checked after I made sure my card was charged all the $400.00 models were long gone!
    I got a refurbished Inspiron 1318 with a Intel Pentium Dual Core T3200 (2.0GHz/667Mhz FSB/1MB cache).
2 gigs of ram. 2MP webcam.
Came with Vista Home Premium but It lagged a fair bit and got hot pretty quickly even with all the eye candy shut off, I kinda figured it would and I intended to install XP or Windows 7. So I installed XP Home made a boo boo with not thinking about the MBR being in the recovery partition, so I had to format once more but all is well now and I can't put it down. Runs sooo fast and cool now :D Yay for Dell Outlet, Perfect for a poor college student Haha
