It was supposed to arrive today but darn Fed Ex delayed it, should be comming tomorrow :D

I'm kinda scared tho, I heard the Inspiron 1525 has some problems with the fan noise. Hopefully I can return it if thats true.

Yeah, that's a really good price. If I was bidding on it the Price is Right and it stated those specs, I would have bid some where close to the $500 range and expecting to be under. Obviously, I would have lost, lol :D

If you live in the USA, that definitely is more on the expensive side as just a few months ago you would have gotten it for much cheaper. Though if you need a notebook badly, I suppose its alright to buy it. Just keep in mind, you are paying a lot more than what many others have gotten as they used to have 25% off coupons for a long period of time and you never know if they might show up again, so if you can wait, I suggest you wait.

yup, so far so good! (knock on wood)

i only had one issue with my wireless router (which is a brand new linksys wireless-n router) but it was fixed by tech support via dell connect. that's amazing technology. anyway, my wireless-n card and my router should have been receiving an amazing signal, but my connection was dropping every 3 minutes. my tech guy changed a setting and now it's working great. :)

he said it should have came like that but sometimes in production the little things can be mistakenly overlooked.

i LOVE the color, so glad i went with the graphite/black trim instead of the jet black. also loving the back-lit keyboard for night time use. the widescreen is amazing and has great resolution.

overall i'm extremely pleased with it!

After months of searching for the ideal netbook (a mix of features, upgradeability, performance, and price) I finally picked the Dell Mini 9. I just ordered it today, and man, what a great deal. I got it for 301 (including the tax/shipping). It was the 249 dollar version, but I added a 1.3mp web cam. I'm looking forward to this machine, and hopefully I can upgrade it without too much trouble. (i've never actually opened up a laptop before)

Upgrading looks to be mighty simple, one panel and all snap-click type connectors.

Tip: Static is bad, don't touch anything shiny that isn't a clip :p

It was $829 ($908 shipped). I was anal about having certain features, and this ended up having all of them with this processor, which i for some reason really liked lol. I woulda gone cheaper, but I couldnt find the exact combo that i liked. I believe new it costs $1500+.

Ordered mine on 2/17! Had a great rep on the phone, April Whetstone. She and Team Raider rock.

    I got a pink Inspiron 1525 + v305w wireless 3 in 1 printer + Norton 360 + MS Office Student Edition all for $933.05 total (tax included).

The prices individually, before tax and shipping:

    Printer - $79
    Laptop (w/MS Ofc) - $713
    S360 Software - $80

Free shipping and handling for everything!

The printer was shipped on 2/18 and got here on 2/20. The estimated ship date for the Inspiron is 3/4, but since it is in the boxing stage now, I am hoping it is sooner!

Well ive just spent my first day with the studio XPS 1640 and im rather impressed, really put it through its paces and it came out the other side unscathed. Very happy with the support i have recieved from dell i placed my order over the internet exactly one week ago recieved a phonecall within hours and had it delivered first thing this morning, throughout the week i had the customer support person phone me on three occasions to inform me of progress and that sort of customer care really impresses me.

all and all im very happy with what Dell offers in and out of the box, nice job dell you will get recommendations from me in the future.

How the hell did you get phone calls??? I have to call myself to check my progress. Also, how the hell did you get such quick delivery? You threaten to break their dog's knees???

Placed mine on the phone, and haven't gotten d**k for customer service, then or since.

    Optical Drive: Blu-Ray

    Scheduled to ship 3/31/09.

    Final cost: 2044.46

    Sales Experience

When I tried to purchase this through the website I ran into 2 issues.

First, there is a special that allows Blu-Ray to be added for $49. However, I was in the Member Discount section (to get my Dell Discount through my employer) and there it wanted $170 for the Blu Ray.

Second, the shopping cart in that section would not communicate properly with my Payment method.

So, I used the "click to call" option on the website. The service was fast and courteous, and they manually applied the right discounts and got my order properly entered into the system.

Within minutes I had an email with a detailed description of my order.

More interesting, shortly thereafter I received an email notifying me that I would be receiving a $100 Dell gift card. Then later when I logged in online to check the order and make sure it was in the pipeline I noted that Dell upgraded my shipping to Next Business Day at no charge.

The current projected ship date is 4/1/2009.

Once it arrives I will post the usual box opening and performance testing information. I am especially curious to see the following:

    1) Does the SSD affect temperature? If so, how much?

    2) Performance and temp before and after I rebuild the image to get rid of the extraneous apps Dell includes and also to optimize Vista for SSD use.

I got my new Dell Laptop a little more than a month ago, but I feel I should post about it here too :)

Background: Old machine was a Dell Inspiron 4000 from 9 years ago or so. It had not been used for a few years, used to be a family machine for internet use when on vacation (Dial-Up LOL). Because of it's age, and non-use, it basiclly became my Linux machine, as Windows ME was NOT in ANY WAY usable! Got new power adapter, high capacity battery, DVD/CD-RW Drive, PCMCIA Ethernet Card, PCMCIA Linksys Wireless-G card, and upgraded to 512MB of RAM. Runs Xubuntu 8.04.2 fine now :D But, I still needed something newer, and actually had Windows on it. Plus, I needed a machine that I would be able to take to college.
It came down to a decision between the XPS M1530 and Studio 1537. Went with the Studio 1537 because I thought it had all of the features I wanted for the best price. Got it for my birthday, pretty exciting present !
    Here are the Specs:
    Jet Black Color
    Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53 GHz/1066 MHz FSB/6MB L2)
    4GB DDR2 RAM 800MHz
    Backlit Keyboard
    WLED Display-1440x900 Resolution
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD3450-256MB RAM
    250GB 7200 RPM HDD-Hitatchi
    6x Slot-Load Blu-Ray Drive
Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN Half-Mini Card
    Integrated 2.0 MP Webcam
SoundBlaster Audigy Advanced HD Software Edition
    85WHr 9 Cell Battery
    Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module
    Fingerprint Reader
    Windows Vista Home Premium 32-Bit

Needless to say, I am in love with this laptop. I guess the only thing I wish Dell had done differently is if they had put the proper Intel Centrino 2 sticker on the front :D
    Thank you Mom and Dad!!!
