    They changed their story again, first it was because of a Screen shortage, now it was because of a processor shortage.

    They did upgrade me to Overnight and claimed they've sent a "expedite" request to the factory.

    So, hopefully they come thorugh on the overnight shipping and I see it next week.

    Thinking about getting one of these and I have 2 questions. Is the "15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA LCD Display " and the "15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA LCD Display with TrueLife" the same res just the truelife also works as a mirror :p ? And how much does the 9cell battery stick out and how much longer would the battery life be?

    did yours JUST go into boxing? or did it go into boxing last night.

    i'm thinking maybe they used up all the Lcd displays they got, and i may be stuck waiting longer again?

    I don't think so.
    Mine is in preproduction and it says on the dell site that in preproduction they gather all the devices and hardware they are gone use. Once they have all the nessasery items they continue to the build/production stage.

    If your computer already is in build stage I doubt they don't have all the items needed to complete it.

    I think that it's because of the config. I am getting it fast.

    dell just called meand say that my status is on boxing stage and that after i knew that all ready frm yesterday after checking on the phone.
    but at list now i know its for sure.dell also told me boxing stage is between 24 hours to 48 hours so im guessing some changing going to happen 2nite or 2morow i hope !!!!

    dude wtf.. a dell guy just called me and said that there is a delay because a shortage in the graphics card i chose.. WTTTFF everyone else chose the same damn one.. im pissed.. i hope it was a mistake im still in the build stage though.

    I ordered mine on the 18th... it's still in build.

    You guys should ignore the "estimated ship dates"... they always pad them. I've ordered from dell before... and sometimes they cut the estimated ship down 2 weeks as soon as they finish building it.

    Also, ship time for me (to san diego) is never more than 2 days for the 3-5 day delivery.

    Somewhere I know I've asked this question before but I'll ask it again: some people with Inspiron 1520's are commenting that they have a significant noise problem on the headphone socket. Does anybody have this problem with the Vostro 1500? Is the 1500 the same motherboard as the 1520, with the same problems?

    Lol, I ordered the performance package. That's the only difference. Dell's shipping date is +2 weeks of normal ship date.

    Dell gives priority on shipping dates not based only on order dates.

    Only Dell knows what's happening. Guys who ordered after me got shipping dates ahead of me. Crazy dell!

    i didn't get bluetooth or the webcam either. and they tell me the GS chip is delayed lol, crazy that is the stock one.
