Dell Vostro is here!!!

same here...dell even says the est. delivery is anywhere in between monday and wed. of next week

 

Hopefully mine was on the same cargo jet as your guyses and Dell's just late on their "Yours Shipped!" message

 

it went into boxing on wednesday really really early morning, so it was in boxing about 30+ hours.

Scarey part is it went straight from production to boxing...they better have tested this mug.

My Vostro 1500 shipped also! Too bad I have standard shipping.

One problem though is my order status is "shipped" and my order details is "in production".

I talked to the chat guys and they said it was shipped, and they gave me a tracking #, but the tracking number doesn't work.

The strange part is my laptop went straight from "in production" to "shipped" without touching "boxing" right after a chat guy offered to upgrade my shipping to next day for free.

Should I be worried?

 

Weird. But Tracking Number's won't work for like..a day or so.

 

hmm...i have the 2 day shipping unfortunately...did you get a 1400 or 1500 shlurpee?

p.s. does anyone know if DHL does saturday shipping?

Fedex overnight, free upgrade apparently

 

There should be a bunch of nice new threads on this board at this time tomorrow.

 

why diddn't i get the upgrade to overnight....all i got was the 2 day :-(

 

this is exciting. i ordered a 1500 on the 24th. not shipping till august 13th, blah. i can live with that though. i can't wait to see the first user reviews

how are you guys getting free next day shipping upgrades? just calling up dell?

 

or using the chat, just complain about the late shipping date and they'll offer free upgrade.

 

How long did it take for everyone else to get there vostro built

Order Date: 7/25/2007 + Est. Ship Date: 8/14/2007 = 20 days!!!

 

Mine was also 20 days, but of course that isn't all build time. There are weekends in there, and getting it to your country and making sure you will have the money for it and testing and all that good stuff.
I want next day shipping

 

They just GAVE me next day, didn't ask for it or anything... Just checked one day and BAM! Next day shipping... I did call to get my $50 back... Maybe they did it then...?

 

I had to call. I don't think chat works with the business notebooks... I tried using the chat link on dells website and it just connects with a home and home office rep, who can't do anything but look at your account in dell business. She tried to give me upgraded shipping, but couldn't do it. I had to call business to get it done.

 

Well, I ordered an inspiron 1520 last monday with an estimated delivery of 2/8/07. As it was still in pre-production yesterday I said sod it, cancelled it and ordered a higher spec Vostro instead

Got the confirmation today and estimated delivery is........

Wow....I could only stand the first 45 secs....that guy on the left suffers from a bad case of "verbal diarrhea"

 

note 9 cell battery on Vostro 1400 does stick out, and its kinda wobbly too

 

is anyone gettin a 1400 today? i just called DHL and they said mine's gonna be here on monday around 3pm Eastern time.

 

i got mine,
no static in the jack(i tried a super cheap 5 dollar headphone too)
battery sticks out, and is kinda wobbly
100% fingerprint resistant

I don't have a digital cam near me right now
I can tell you guys somethings I noticed so far

The all black color looks nice, and is fingerprint resistant
the build is solid, the screen does flex if you start twisting it
its not heavy, not for me at least
the 8400M GS is clocked at 400 core, 500 memory
9 cell battery sticks out and is kinda wobbly
headphone jack is fine, no static even with my cheapo $5 headphone.
I have no idea why theres 2 headphone jacks
screen looks fine to me, i didn't chose truelife and its 1280*800 resolution

and oh, i honestly can't tell the difference between Vista Home Basic and my Home Premium and Ultimate.
I'm not even going to bother installing Home premium or ultimate on this, probably can end up saving some system resource and HD space too

Call them, theyll tell you the expected date is August 1 :/. Just don't get a customer rep they'll tell you to call Dell.

 

they guaranteed me that it would come on monday...unless there are any "unforseen delays"
