    Eek!... I've gotten that dreaded email... and I'm expecting a new one tomorrow... if it says October though, I promise, I will SCREAMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! .... and then wait patiently because I want my pink laptop and I do not want a 3 inch smaller screen... (sony)

    i too like everyone here is hoping that tomorrow proves to be the day we've all been waiting for.... im so excited :D , but im also prepared to get a phonecall from a wonderful CSR who can barely pronouce the name "erika" :mad: it's not that hard people!!!!

    I'm so sorry everyone about your pink laptops. I know how you feel to keep getting those delay notices and I still don't understand how come I got mine and you guys didn't. It just doesn't make any sense to me. I did get a call from Dell today asking about their service with this product. I started laughing and told them they were kidding right.

    Now my other daughter has decided she needs a dell laptop at x-mas and I'm just not sure I"m up to the struggle of it all again. Hopefully, she will not pick pink because I don't think we'll luck out again.

    I am still trying to post the pictures of the pink 1420 (when my daughter has time). She called from school and loves it so I guess it was worth the wait. Hang in there everybody and good luck. Pictures will be coming soon.

    well, although i don't receive emails or calls when my ESD doesn't happen ( i think it's different in Canada then the US), my computer has not seemed to have any progress in production. SO i think that prettymuch meeans i won't have it by my ESD, so i'm talking to a CSR to try and find out the new date.

    OMG i literally just freaked out when I saw your post ... i feel sooo sorry for you. Mine still says EDD 9/5 and I only ordered mine a week after Linda T, so if she got her's last week, then I should get mine this week... if not, i'm making yet another phone call to dell :( i'll keep everyone posted.

    I've been keeping up with this thread, first post. When I contact Customer Service they tell me nothing is delayed, and that my ESD should prove accurate. Guess it's just another couple days, we'll see. My fingers are crossed for everyone here, but still I'm doubtful.

    Luckily I'm not on a deadline to get it. But I got my current laptop (Inspiron 5100) in Dec. 2003 and it's overdue for a replacement.

    I started class without it, but, that wasn't a big deal. I have my Dall desktop (that I got about 5 days after ordering). You just get so excited waiting and hoping your pink lappy will ship....all the delays take the fun out of it. If they had told me when I talked to them a few days earlier that the pink lids were backordered, I would not have been so angry, but, to be promised that nothing was delayed and 12 hours later be delayed 45 days....not fun at all!!!
    But,
    I'm going to wait it out. They may have long delays and crappy customer service, but, they have great prices!!
    I was cranky this morning, took it out on the hubby, and feeling better now..... : )

    :mad: Well gang, got my dreaded news at the order status site. They don't even have the decency to e-mail me. My 09/05 ESD is now 09/12ESD. How can they give all of us a different date?? I was at the DELL Kiosk in my mall yesterday. They still have NEVER had or seen a PINKIE! The poor kids that work there are taking all the heat and no one is ordering anything from them due to all the complaints on delivery of all different laptops. These kids work for commission, so Dell is really screwing them. I am considering:( a red or white just to end the spiraling depression I'm in over this! The one thing with the WHITE is that it's a SHINY plastic cover and the red and pink are the "Rubberized" matte finish. (Ya think maybe rubber paint won't stick to plastic?) The White would be easier to keep clean and not scratch as easily. Gosh, decisions, decisions.......I really want a PINK one NOW!!:mad2:

    Well I checked this morning as well... because yesterday I was still in build and I know my computer wasn't going to magically go through all the remaining stages in 8 hrs... so as expected I have a new ESD 9/12/2007...
    :-\... We'll see what happens next week

    Mine is a 1721, but I also got the new 9/12 date this morning.

    If you really want a pink one (like my wife does), we are going for the Vaio. According to the site they are in stock and will ship on Friday. Free shipping in the US until Thursday too.

    I did look @ the Sony Vaio, I don't want to feel like my past 48 days have been for nothing though... plus I want my big/wide screen! My current laptop is Inspiron 9200 with a 17 inch screen, I can't imagine going backwards... so I guess I'm stuck with Dell for a little bit more..

    OMG!!!! I got September 12 as well!!! this is going almost 3 months for me!!!

    I had 3 options to choose: Consent to this delay, consent to this and all delays (meaning they know they're will be other delays) and consent to cancel this order.

    This is riduculous. I should have gone with my friends suggestion of buying a white laptop and then spray painting it pink. I refuse to get a different laptop color ... i'm sticking out ... i'm gonna see how long they make me wait for one.

    Dear Dell,

    My Pink Inspiron laptop has, once again, been delayed. This laptop has been taking almost 3 months to be built. Why is it that people that ordered their Pink Dell Inspiron 1520's in August have already recieved theirs, but not the Dell 1420's. Why is just an inch of difference in the laptop screen making such a difference. Your factory obviously has no problem producing pink 1520's, or even 1420's in any other color, why is it such a hassle to produce pink 1420s? Obsviously you do have the paint for it, because then there would be no pink 1520's.

    My friend ordered her Pink 1420 on July 8th and Recived it August 31st. Since there is only a difference of 7 days between her order and mine, why is mine going to be "supposingly" shipped out 14 days after hers. Is there any way to can have your factory stop production on other colors for just a week to ammend the disaster you are creating with the pink 1420's?

    My ESD is still saying 9/7 and when I call the automated system still says it's in pre-production. I wish they would stop frustrating everyone by waiting until the last minute to announce a delay. I think people would be a bit less annoyed by a delay if they said it BEFORE the current ESD. Otherwise people get their hopes up and then feel worse when they get delayed.

    I am going to wait it out if I have to. The Vaio looks more expensive and less customizable. Plus I have had lots of positive experiences with Dell's Customer Service regarding my current computer, and that was a big reason for me to go with them again.

    I was going to wait it out and see how much I could get, buy my daughter couldn't wait anymore...

    I just got off Dell chat with Pradeep, then Sood. They both say it shows my order is in final build and should be shipped within 1 or 2 days!!?? Now should I believe that?? They use the infamous "should" be instead of "will" be so I will not get my hopes up!

    Is that different from what you see on the check order status page? Every time I try to chat with them, I'm told they can't see any more than I can. The order status page says "In production" for me... but that is what it's been saying since a couple days after I ordered it, so I don't believe it.

    Tess, y order status only says "in production" but they told me they get to see see what actual stage of production it is in once the build is started. It won't show that for the customers to see. Only they can!!! So they say! Like I say, I won't beleive it until I get an actual tracking number to follow!

    Mine still says ESD 9/7/2007...same as it always has. I talked to them (again) last night and they assured me that all my parts were in stock and there "should" be no delays. I even told them honestly, "If it's going to be delayed, that's fine... Just please tell me now so I can go ahead and give you a different shipping address since I'm moving in less than 2 weeks."

    But, they wouldn't let me do that b/c it "should" be shipping Friday.

    I wish I didn't want this computer so badly. Had I not gotten a $300 company discount, I would probably cancel and go somewhere else. But it's just too good of a deal....and it's so pretty. :)

    RebCar..they told me the same thing 12 hours before they delayed me for 45 days. I hope you gets yours, maybe I had other parts on backorder too....

    Okay so my notebook went into boxing two days ago. It was supposed to ship today but I recieved a message saying it is delayed to 9/12 as others.

    I just want it to come *crosses fingers

    That also happened with my 1420. It was in boxing the day before my ESD and then the next day they delayed my ESD by another week. So I called on 8/30/07 and they told me the 1420 shipped. So hang in there, and hopefully, it will ship tomorrow.

    I can't remember who used me as "there friend" but I sure hope it helps. I complained all the time - calling, e-mailing, and chatting. It just made me feel better and finally I think I got the right person who put priority on my order and within a week I got the 1420.

    Good luck everyone and I'm thinking of you guys every day. (And I'm still trying to figure out how to post the picture. My daughter is too busy to help me. So it might be awhile.)

    Well, good news from my end too. I just received an email from a CSR that I have been chatting with, and she said that it is in the final stages of production so it should be shipping in 2-5 days.
    So far she has told me everytime that it was in pre=production, so I don't see why she would be lying, so I'll update you guys when I find out more :)
    Hopefully I'll be telling you this weekend that my order has shipped

    half the components I ordered were backordered... keep me updated as to when yours ships so I can have some hope... but I've been keeping in contact with 3 CSRs and they all email and let me know that they haven't forgotten me... I have a case # and everything... its really kind of sad lol... but I've been told that it would definitely be shipping out 5 times now... so I guess now i'm just a cynic... who won't believe it until I see my pretty Flaminga..

    News flash: Flamingo pinks have no delay showing on the Dell website. Yellow has 10 days and blue & red have 2 days. Good luck folks...maybe you won't have to wait much longer. :)

    Was it the same configurations? And did you talk to the nice sales guy politely so he offered you priority? Be crabby with Dell, not me; I hope your girlfriend gets her computer soon.

    I got the grainy AUO screen anyway, but I don't mind it. I'd rather have grainy than washed out colors.

    BOXING!!! what!!! sooo not fair! i ordered a day before you with the same configuration (plus bluetooth) and its still in production. if you get it before I do, i'm going to send another e-mail to dell. I hate you dell!! congrats on the early laptop arrival, lucky!!! :)

    Well, thank you, and sorry I took that the wrong way. Kind of makes me feel bad that I did get mine when anyone's waited longer. I work for a company that buys all Dell, so that probably helped a bit too. The long waits everyone's been experiencing are ridiculous. No one should have to wait a month, never mind two or three.

    I guess what's frustrating about dealing with such a huge company like this is that you don't know who to yell at. You can only complain to the CSRs so much; they don't control a whole lot. There's so much displaced frustration.

    I'm just jealous is all. :D I don't bother the reps too much, because I work in our shipping department at work, and the CSR's there have NO idea what is going on back in shipping, yet they get yelled at. I know it's not the most luxurious job.

    i've been delayed again til 9.22.07, i feel slightly better knowing im not alone but even still.... this f**kin sucks and i don't think i ever wanna buy another laptop again (this was my 1st one) :( any other 9.22nd'ers out there?

    Yeah that's weird. Well I hope you get yours as well. I know the feeling of wanting priority when you ordered first. If anything I complained to them alot on the phone and chat. They just wanted to get rid of me.

    No...I'm sure we had the same things. I'm fully not expecting it to ship Friday. It's still in "Build Stage". I just wish--like everyone else--that they'd tell me NOW rather than the day of.
