Well FINALLY an update! :-D I knew it wouldn't ship today if it hasn't even gone into boxing yet. I don't mind waiting as long as they keep me posted.

Thats from one of those US_ CAG_ Ownership or something like that emails... I've gotten one of those from every chat rep I've spoken to... I even got 1 last month that says "your order has not shipped until now."... :-\...

 

Well this is the first email I have gotten since ordering, unless you count the automatic emails with the text of each chat conversation I've had. So it's exciting for me. LOL. (Then again, it's not going on two months for me, so I guess that explains why I'm not as mad as others on this forum...)

 

Yea...that's the exact same email I got today Tess. I really hope that ESD is right. Hopefully all of us can have pretty pink laptops next week.

And, love love love the pics! I'm so excited. I feel like I should take a day off work when I finally get mine in to play with it. Boss would love that excuse, ha!

 

Oh yea...and how do y'all like Windows Vista?? I haven't used it before. Let me know what you think or any things to know before using it. I have XP now.

 

Guess what guys?... I went into to TESTING this morning... it felt so good to hear the lil automated lady say "testing"... me and my Maltese Mix Jumped Around the room... @ 7 AM lol he's excited... barkin... i'm excited jumping... I'm just excited now... so maybe I'll get a Flaminga after all....

 

I love Vista... I ordered a desktop 2 days after I ordered my Flaminga (got it within a week) and it has Vista on it... I don't know why people gripe with Vista so much I like it... the only issue has been compatibility for older programs/ hardware... like my printer driver CD was for OSs up to XP... but I easily went online and found the updated driver. Alot of compatibility problems are fixed now... and I like how vista looks.. its very helpful (alot of popups when anything is detected)... the popups may get on some folks nerves, but I rather have a helpful OS than one that is not user friendly.

just a question for those that have their computers, were your estimate delivery dates accurate?

 

not at all, if you look at my signature my EDD was the 12th but I recieved it the 7th, so they were a couple of days under, which is a really good sign for everyone.

i just played with mine all morning. vista is cool, i mean i'm not really all that techy but its pretty simple to use and get around. now I have to move all my files from my old laptop to my new laptop ... ick! hope everyone enjoying the ones they recieved and I hope everyone will get theres soon.

im finally in boxing!!! omg! after waiting in a purgatory-like place (the "build" stage) since july... i got the lovely message from the automated lady that im in boxing... woohoo! i think you guys sent your flamingo pink good vibrations in everyones direction, im just glad to be finally feelin the effects... thanks!

i have to stop myself from gettin extremely excited! i never had a laptop before so it's almost like a baby to me..... i've watched it grown from "pre-production" to "boxing" and soon it'll be delivered.... except instead of having late nites due to a cranky baby, i'll be having late nites seeing what my "baby" is capable of lol

The estimated ship date has passed, and despite being promised earlier this week that my order was not delayed, last night I got an email stating that there is a delay and the new estimated ship date is 9/14/07. I would like some compensation for this inconvenience.

I've read about people not actually getting the compensation, but by doing it through Chat I have a session ID to refer to, plus I was given a case #. Hopefully that's good enough. This will cover a carrying case I wanted that I didn't want to pay that much for, and if I order now it will get here before my computer.

 

Yeah... the Case # makes the difference... Because even if you are promised something but don't have anything to reference it, they can say they didn't promise it... I'm going to call as soon as I get my lappy... should be sometime this week!...

i called the other day, and they told me my order was still in the finance department.. i did the bancary transfer and sent a copy of it to dell, thats what everyone did right? (the ones that payed that way).. does anyone know if i have to send other papers? or what could be delayin my order in the finance area?

I just tried checking on my shipment (cause i got a tracking number from purolator) but the website just says an error has occured and to try again later. it's said that for a few hours now. anyone else with purolator having the same problem?

 

Hey Allie... how long did your flaminga stay in boxing?

 

Mine stayed in boxing for like a day and a half. On the second day the automated thing said boxing in the morning, but by the afternoon it said shipped. I'm so exicted that you'll get yours soon. I'm using mine too I love it, but i ran into a problem.

Is anyone having problems installing their old printer onto their new laptops with Vista. I got so frustrated that I had a Dell Rep link up to my laptop via online and had him try to fix it, and after 2 hours, he actually got to install my printer (which is a Dell printer from 3 years ago) but my laptop still cannot communicate with my printer. someone else is going to try today. boo

cause i was just emailed by a CSR rep that i had been talking to (who was very nice and helpful by the way) and she said that it was just going into the final stages of production and should ship in 2-5 days, and then 2 days later it had said ship

and about the purolator website, mine is up again lol so just ignore that question

it's freakin christmas in september!!! my flamingo pink has been shipped! (as of yesterday) though im a bit confused.... when i went to check the tracking number, it said it didn't exist on dhl's website i better get my laptop soon, im so sick of this crap w/ dell!! i wanna leave "dell hell"!!!

 

^ probably cause it was Sunday and DHL doesn't technically ship on Sunday but since Dell has a DHL account, they are able to provide you with a tracking number that won't go into DHL's system until pick up today.... (I work @ FedEx Kinko's... my knowledge of shipping practices scares me!)

I got my tracking number on Sunday, and strangely enough, when I went to the DHL website, it's already in transit to Atlanta.

yeah!! looks like dell is finally catching up... its like watching a ball roll down a hill at high speed and the csr's and everyone's trying to catch it, maybe it hit a wall or something and they're gettin their asses in gear to finally send out these systems.. good luck to everybody!

Bad News/Good News.....Tho my ESD got bumped (again) to 9/17, my status moved to 'boxing'!

 

I'm so confused...all day today the 800-number has been telling me I'm in "boxing."

But I just got an email from Dell saying my order has been delayed again til 9/20 this time. Last week it was 9/14/2007.

Arghhhh....Is it being boxed or is it delayed...???? Just tell me the truth, Dell!

 

Just got an official dell-ay email (I got one Friday afternoon from a CSR I had chatted with) saying ESD is 10/1. I hope that's just to cover their A and that the 9/14 I was told on Friday is right.

Reb- From what I've read it seems the automated system is accurate. They probably just sent automatic emails today for everyone who had an ESD of 9/7 that didn't actually get sent out. Your ESD today is quite a bit before mine, so I'd say that's a good sign for you.

 

I'm still in Boxing but I'm still ecstatic... cause I have been waiting to hear something other than "build" since 4ever!.... I think Dell is changing the ESDs just to cover their butts... like my latest ESD is 9/22/07 but its no way boxing my Flaminga should take that long.

they are moving the dates back to cover their asses, or so khushboo the CSR i just spoke to about another order i placed told me.... i wouldnt know who to believe... becuz within 5minutes, my ESD jumped from 9/12, to 9/22.... then it went to 9/29! only to flip-flop back to the 9/22 date but it shipped on 9/09.... the automated lady kept me the most "up to date" on the whole dell saga so hopefully the trend works in you guys' favors of earlier ship dates than what they have listed for you!

 

Well, this morning my ESD got pushed back to 9/17/07, just now when I checked it's 10/15/07. WTH? My husband talked to a CSR this morning and he said 9/17. You mean to tell me he didn't know anything? I'm so frustrated.

I'm a bit worried about my 1520. The Dell printer that I ordered along with the laptop had all sorts of information listed when I put in the tracking number, while the laptop didn't have much of anything. I was afraid the laptop had gotten lost. When I called DHL they said that always happens when the tracking label on the box doesn't scan. I won't be able to see any information about my laptop's whereabouts until they actually deliver it. What kind of lame tracking system is that?

 

well, my EDD was today but it didn't show up
BUT it is now in transit in Canada
and i THINK i can expect it to show up tomorrow or at the very least the next day
my fingers are itching to use my new laptop, boy it's more difficult then you think to write your notes in a 3 hour lecture lol

 

that is pretty dumb my purolator tracking is good, but still confuses me sometimes

Unlike many of the upset delay customers, I couldn't get upgraded to NBD shipping because when I ordered the laptop I paid an extra 85 for it because I really wanted it quick (ha ha ha right?) (oh yeah and they are going to credit that back.) I don't understand why my carrier is DHL Express Ground and why my delivery date is jacked up like that... a 4 day stretch?... Since it is going out today I should receive it tomorrow... and if not I'm calling Dell... because that is beyond ignorant...

 

It's a 4 day stretch because it extends over the weekend. The 15th would be on a Saturday, so they can't say 9/13/2007-9/15/2007. But that is an estimate for ground shipping (3-5 day shipping), not "next business day." If you do get "next business day" you'll get it sooner.

 

omg myztery, im right there w/ you! dell did the same thing to me! my order shipped on 9.9.07 according to dell but dhl has shipment as 9.10.07 w/ a delivery date of 9.12-9.14.07..... that's BS! they even said next business day.... meanwhile, the digital camera (which has also been delayed w/ the notebook... how long does it take to ship a camera!?!) that i ordered is expected to be delivered sometime today, dell truly blows chunks i thought maybe they'd redeemed themselves a bit but nope!

 

My delivery dates were 9/12/2007 to 9/14/2007, but according to the DHL tracking the printer I ordered had arrived at a depot about 30 minutes from where I live. So I phoned up my brother to tell him to watch out for DHL and he said they'd just dropped it off.

So yours may come a day earlier than what they say too.

 

I just called and my pink 1420 is in boxing!!
