Help! suffering from status addiction

What the heck did u just try to say? LOL...

We used to have those cool pics and stuff... in the old days. Thats why I was a little shocked to see it gone when I ordered from Dell (it apparently went away like 6 months ago) :-(

 

That's good news for me, maybe mine will go out now too.

 

I was a little "under the influence", nothing big, just enough to not read over what I wrote, heh.

 

Just got mine....there IS some interference with the headphone jack....I have one stuck pixel on red near the center....there is a faint very high pitch sound coming from maybe the processor....and she does get a little warm for me on my lap...


other than that....all is good

Also...there is some light leakage at the bottom center...comes out about an inch from the bottom.

 

good luck on getting them to give a damn about that one. Only in extreme cases have I seen any company care about light bleed through.

haha...back in 2004...i went through 4 21 inch widescreen monitors because of light leakage.....so I know they will do something if I complain...however I am content right now to use it for now and maybe a month or two down the road start complaining.

 

wow, Dell must have better customer service then most then. Or maybe cause that was then, this is now. Either way be sure to keep us posted if you do get something done about it.

Well guys I have gone a full 24 hours with out checking my status... i might check it tomorrow sometime but after a day of forcing myself to not check and some other much needed time with my girl friend

Thats why you post with me, duh! But try and get in some spontaneous *** and it will def help with the wait times... and reading a good book that helps too, but i left it in my car so i dont feel like going and getting it and yea, i dunno maybe i'm lazy...

 

lol, i do get in spontaneous stuff, and their are hours that I don't check the status of my laptop, so what if they are only in my sleep, and sleeping just happens to be that spontaneous stuff I do, it's still there. You never know when I might sleep, could be now, could be 2 hours from now, could be not at all tonight (unfortunately truely a possibility, insomniatic) Plus I had classes today, so there was like a few hours I wasn't looking at it. Even if I did call the 1800 # as soon as I got out, and I have my order number memorized. God, I am pathetic...lol You just have to understand what I have went through to get this damn thing.

 

I understand, i have the numbers memorized too and saved in speed dial and i'll probably remember my order number until the end of time, but I think things work out better for you once you stop caring about them... weird eh?

 

oh yeah, I know, it's just hard after two months to be so close to getting it. It was supposed to ship tomorrow, but I already know it won't. At least I will get my remote tomorrow and can play with it . I am leaving tomorrow night and heading to Ohio, then on Friday me and a bunch of my friends are heading to red river gorge in Kentucky. I hope I don't suffer from withdrawal to bad. Plus my cell service doesn't work outside of my home area so... no checking order status for me. Man you live super close to me now, I live in Ypsilanti, MI. I used to live in Dayton, OH, that's where i am headed. I will have to pass by toledo on my way down there. I take US 23, to 475, to 75 south, then that all the way down. I am just so hoping my laptop will be here when I get back. I was really hoping it would get here in time for the trip, but doesn't look like it. I just wanted it for night time dvd watching.

I actually live right outside of Toledo in Northwood but its close enough to just say Toledo for a lot of people and a lot don't actually know about it either, I hope your computer ships on time good sir and I no longer think it is pee colored and any other negative thoughts i take back

nah, not really into oblivion, partially because I never had a system that was strong enough for it. This system is a Athlon XP 2500+ and I just recently slapped a Geforce 7600GT in it.

 

well your new one will be able to run it pretty durn good, and other similar games too i bet, which would make for a nice change of pace, my compter right now has integrated so i haven't been able to run much ever

I said: "ok."

she says: "BOXING!"

I said: "ok lauren, keep bull****ting me and you'll be sleeping out in the street tonight"

I immediately took the phone and said "repeat it, repeat it, REPEAT IT"

"Your order is in the boxing stage, now stop calling".

 

Nice story, i took the day off from calling all Tuesday and then this morn i saw the thread to check it so i did and it told me it already shipped and it kinda sucked... it was missing your son being born, you went to the hospital then fell asleep and bam, there he is or something (keep in mind i do not have children nor do i plan on it for a much longer time...)

I already thought when i woke up this morning "they are never gonna make it with only 7 days left until the delivery date" but it seems they are pretty much on schedule.

Well guys I am back from my vacation, a much needed one at that. And I tell you what, when your dangling off the side of a cliff by a rope, your laptop is the furthest thing in your mind at that point. Man what a rush, can't wait to go back! Anyways, FINALLY after 2 months, and 7 days, my laptop has shipped. So let's see how fast is Dell: Original order May 14th, cancelled June 28, ordered 1520 June 28, and shipped July 23. Man, they really need to work on their supplier issues. Oh and for anyone that is curious, if I would have kept the original 1505 order, it had a ship date set for July 16th, so it wouldn't have came much sooner, and the rep I talked to said it would have taken them that long because of unavailability of parts. Anyways, hopefully this time tomorrow I will have my lappy

 

how long was your laptop in the build stage before it shipped?

 

June 29th - July 21st for this one, the 1505 order was May 15th - June 28th when I canceled it.

Oh yeah and Lynus as I was driving by Toledo it reminded me you said you lived by there. Just thought that was funny.

 

jeeze they had it in build stage for OVER a month.. damn that kills my hopes lol

 

Keep in mind that others have shipped out way before mine. Supposedly the whole hold up for mine was getting in a Yellow backed LCD panel. So as you can imagine, I was pissed.

 

yea weird,, they transferred me over to CSR instead of their usual automated voice system. Maybe they're updating the system
