cool down and call up ur CSR and tell them abt the same..they should push up with ur order and by the way..site is not uptodate..so dun't go buy it..

this guys are making a big c****a of us in hindi..

same here buddy.i was 1st plannin 2 buy a hp but den dell dropped in.ur case is totaly difrnt.u ve plenty of time but in my case i ve only 13days.yes its quite frustratin 2 knw dat u dnt get ur laptop on time.i felt da same thin.lets jus wait for a week or so.if i dnt get it by den i will surely cancel it

 

one can cancell the order anytime befor the system gets delivered .one will get full return but the money will be {cr}back to u in a months time..and if the machine is delivered ,one can give it back within one month time..u will not tax refund though...best is to call up csr to deliver the system by the date promised to u..or u will cancell the order or best ask for compensation for the delay caused..

To tell u d truth it doent matter much to me if i get sytem a week later but i really want to fetch something out of Dell people in this deal, that too because they cant keep their promise...like some compensation or free bies or upgrade... can u tell me how i can do that..

 

well in that case keep in touch with ur csr...tell them if its late u will cancell it..and if they say sorry and all just say wt will u get for the delay coz...now it depends on how late ur system is ..and wt all u bargained for when u had booked the system..

 

Yes the website is down for some weird reasons guys so better contact the Customer care and ask the delivery status

hey guys today i spoke to my csr he said that it will be delivered on or b4 25th.i ve asked him 2 deliver b4 23rd or else i will cancel da order

 

guess what?? I called up the cust care n they told me they have already dispatched my vostro yesterday (sunday) from bangalore. I still doubt it as cargos in India normally dont work on sundays n also they cudnt provide me the details like name of carrier & docket no etc...
They are saying they are not authorised to provide a customer with such details. & their manager..i'm trin to talk to him for last for days n he is too busy to talk...
any comments..

 

screw dell it doesnt think abt its customers da service is fcuked up i still cant believe how dell became the no. 1 notebook seller of 2007 and has taken over hp.

 

well i spoke 2 dem this mornin they said around 1500 orders are stuck in customs nd will be delivered on or before 25/2/08.they said it cud take much longer than that

I ordered an inspiron 1520 on 31 jan and my edd is 20 Feb.
The problem is that i have shifted to a new address and and want the system be delivered to that address.I talked to the cc but he told me that it would delayt the process by about 3 weeks (edd will be around 10-11 march) .So is there any way to change the adress without affecting the edd.
One more thing do the courier service guy call before delivering as I am not at my place during the day and also on saturday and sunday.

i placed order for vostro 1500 0n 25.02.08 e.d.d. is 14.02.08, they tell .. shipped from bangalore on 10.02.08, still no signs of receiving....lol...

hey sason!!! just bang the ccr hard n ask him/her to get it delivered on time else u ll cancel the order. they only require the address for shipping it from bangalore n i guess it sud not take more that a minute if it is not dispatched from bangalore warehouse.

 

again i spoke to my csr she said its in bangalore nd is still in customs clearence.i told dem if i dnt get by 22nd i will cancel it.but gullu ur a lucky guy.congrats.enjoy.wat abt u arihantddn wen did they deliver ur laptop frm bangalore.nd how many days does it take for the order to reach my house once it is cleared.i m livin in nagpur(maharashtra)

I didnt know abt these delivery problems before placing the order...i actually came to forum after placing the order...and i thot well i am doomed...looks like my fairy god mother was always with me
Actually the early delivery made me paranoid...went through the specs and the laptop side by side for over three times...Heres a silly question how do you actually verify the screen dimension is 15.4 inches?? thats the only thing i havent checked...quite silly...the paranoid android that i am.
Otherwise performance is really amazing...i had my own doubts abt vista and 2gb ram..but runs like butter....tried a few games..nothing hard core..like NFS etc...was smooth enuff for me...i am not a game addictive..

Hmm i think thats how its measured. So i got this free software called j ruler or something which gives you a ruler with measurements available in pixels, cm, inches etc...but can measure only horizontal and vertical. So did that and got weird numbers.

Height : 9.3"
A simple pythagoras and i get (225+86.49 = 311.49 and root of that gives 17.65)
Well i understand am making a mistake somewhere dunno where

dude it tuk me 27 days my lappy was stuck in customs.its got both hdmi nd s video output.i m livin in nagpur maharashtra i made da payment thru credit card.its da fastest mean of orderin.otherwise u ve dd nd cheque

Thanks for the info about "S video" output on XPS 1530 .

I was under the impression that Dell XPS 1530 does not have "S video port" but has only "HDMI port" .

The Tech specs mentioned on the Dell site also mention this :

That is why I had thought of opting for HP instead of Dell because HP notebooks have both "S video" and "HDMI " ports.

I'm in Bangalore right now, but belong to Chandigarh. Spoke to Dell reps a few times while I was in Chandigarh, and have also been involved in the purchase of a system from them while in Bangalore.

Call up the number on the Dell India website. Talk to a rep and get your system configured to your desire. Haggle to get the price down, but don't make it sound as if it is your birthright. Tell them that you have a budget that you cannot go above at any cost, and it'd be great if the rep could cut you some slack for some extra warranty, carry bag or maybe a higher res screen for less than the actual cost. Talk to them politely and they usually agree. It isn't uncommon to see discounts from 5-10% in India provided you talk well and the rep isn't a pea-brain. They give you the discount as they need the sale too.

I dunno about DD, but credit cards are easily accepted. Your order is confirmed by e-mail and your credit card is charged with the total amount. You will receive a tracking number for your system which can be used to track the status of your order on the website.

Delivery usually takes anywhere from 7-14 days. Depending on the location where you want the system to be delivered, tax is charged according to the rules of the state government. The exact amount will be told to you by the rep while placing the order. In some cases no VAT is charged on credit card purchases.
