You should not demand stuff directly but indeed ask them what do I get for my order being delayed so much and the interest for the money which is stuck with them in this delay period ?

 

Just got a call from my mom that the package has arrived.... Yey..... They sent it just 1 day late from their EDD which is not at all bad.... I've asked my mom to turn on the laptop and see if it all works properly....

 

i told him the prices have gone down...n that i needed it by the 10th.....going for training n **** for 15-20 days...ill cancel now n order after training when prices are better... accly the prices have hiked for the same config....the idiots dont know that .....jus say its a loss for you if u get it late....they'll understand u want freebies....im jus waiting for my laptop to arrive so that i can call them n tell them that im pissed with vista n i want xp....yes they do that...they'll send u an XP cd....for free....

 

@ ash: arent u NOT supposd to open up the package unless sumone from dell comes n checks it??? wat if i dont wait for them??? does that void the warranty???

 

Hmm they dint tell anything like that and neither did they call regarding that.... So I guess that all is ruled out....

 

They told me that too, but I didn't care. When I got it, and ripped the box open asap. No warranty was void, nothing. They tell us that just because they charged us Rs. 800 (installation charges) for a guy to come and tell us what a screen is, and what a keyboard is.

 

whats the logistic service that they use here?

called dell....they gave me an EDD in the morning as 12th oct.....then later after a coupla hours i received a mail wit EDD as 11th oct.....these phuckers really dunno their stuff...n if i call their service center....they put me on a hold for ever...

shiiit maan....i dont hav a landline...i hav to use a friggin cellphone to talk to them....friggin 3 bux per min...n that lameass rep of mine takes atleast 2 mins to come on call...i dunno why everyone at dell always pretends to be busy fingering themselves the whole day

mozart, if you have a bsnl cell connection, that works as well. they do put you on hold for long! i guess they try to match the cell phone number... because the last time i called, the guy had my order info almost as soon as i uttered the order no.

 

gotta call frm them this morning...the'v sent it thru ALS...im getting a 9 cell battery, 2.1 speakers and a thubm drive as 'Complements From DELL' :S ....

dude u ordered on the 14th maaan....shud hav got it by now...jus call them n play hyper...ask for ur money...mention HP, lenovo n all in between...n then how its a loss to u by waiting for the laptop ......i guess that shud giv them a hint...btw i was about to order the same laptop as urs on 10/09...how much did u pay?? mine had come around 44K wit 128mb grafix...

the invoice was raised on friday. package arrived here on monday, i got it on tuesday
and, well, as i have paid for 'installation', i have asked the guy to come along. have some reallly minor issues, will sort out with him.

no mozart, cc never called, and i called the cc to know my status. they just said it was with asl, but they did not know the phone number!! so i looked up on the web, called their office in Chennai, and voila, they delivered in the evening!so i suggest, you do the same.

hey phoenix, what make is your hdd and oprical drive? mine is a toshiba hdd and an optiarc drive. dunno how good they are!

 

maaaan.....ASL or ALS....i remember that cc guy telling me sumting similar....i was too busy thinking abt my freebies:d.....n its already friday evening..cc phones wil work only on monday now....i guess ill kno only when the package actually arrives....

 

Well, here in Delhi, they did give me a call in the morning and came by afternoon. However, it was the courier guys who called me, and not the Dell CC. The courier company used in Delhi is AFL Wiz, which is a reputed company used by many organizations.

I have a Toshiba HDD and PBDS DVDRW. No idea what PBDS stands for.

 

I have a TSSTCorp DVD+/-RW, which does everything, but READ blank DVDs. So I am getting it replaced. I searched online, anyone who has this brand has the same problem. I am getting Samsung one now, and TSSTCorp stands for Toshiba Samsung Storage Technilogy as well. Oh man, talking to these reps is so horrible. I got them to undersand my problem after so many days before they said they'll replace it. Now there's another problem (not in the hardware though) which I am dealing with them.

 

im getting my package today....u guys sure opening the package doesnt void the warranty n all rite???? sumone post fast cos i want to rip it open the moment the delivery guy steps in....otherwise i'll hav to wait till monday for the dell guy....

can anyone direct me how to split that huge 99 GB C in my dell? i know i can use the partition magic, but does vista basic have anything that I can use?
