whats your ship date mine was 8/22
-
the same, 8/22.
-
THis is about 400 cheaper than anything out there as of the 30th of june.
Help please. -
elemenopee did you go through the Florida site or do it over the phone? What did your config look like that gave you a ship date of 8/22?
-
Doesn't Dell overestimate the shipping dates by 15 days ahead?
So in reality, the 8/22 should be 8/05 right?
Also, I believe you mean Est. Shipping Date as 8/15
and Est. Delivery Date as 8/22. -
its already up to 8/22!? i just ordered a few hours ago from the recomended bundles - drake - ship date was 7/31!~
-
i did it online... that's why i was asking how long i could/should wait before calling to ask to remove the printer and the 3 yr care service.
my config has the t7300 (2.0ghz), LED w/vga, and the rest is pretty much the standard (nvidia gpu, 120gb hd, etc.)... actually i did also add bluetooth.
could the bluetooth be the reason why the ship date is the 22nd?
edit:
and no the est. ship date is the 27th-29th -
If I havent received a confirmation email and just the acknowledgement after 2 days am I SOL or should I call Dell?
Thanks -
Apparently, they add on 15 days.
-
man that sure seems like a lot of time...
-
I agree...a long wait
But definitely worthwhile!
-
i called already to make sure it was still shipping no later than 7/31 and has been confirmed -
It kinda sucks that you're getting yours before me.
-
-
So what are the universities with good deals?
-
that's it, the rest sucks.
-
Well, (at least at UW) the recommended bundles appear to be gone *completely* and you are now required to make a Dell Premier account to get into the store. And the e-quotes come up as "This item is no longer valid." This means 12% only, so its decent, but not enough to get it into my sub-1500 price range. Unless Dell brings this back, its a W7s for me....
I hate how the two perfect laptops (MacBook Pro and XPS M1330) are about $300 out of my price range.... -
I ordered a XPS M1330 through Drake yesterday morning using my credit card and got the acknowledgement email but still have yet to receive a confirmation email. This morning, I ordered though UF using Dell DPA and quickly received both the acknolwedgement and confirmation email (too bad Florida deal is more expensive without printer and with less memory). Maybe using Dell DPA is the key to getting a fast confirmation email?
-
Anyone know if University of Michigan Dell University is having deals on the XPS M1330 by the way? I used to work there and still have a employee ID #.
-
This is sweet. Mine is still in production with an est ship date of 08/02. What a bargain.
I am definately not going to keep this thing tho. The screen is too small, and its a ghey dell. (barf)
Im going to sell it and hold out for an IFL90 or a T61p.
Any1 know what the credit would be to drop the 3 year warranty and get the standard 1 year -
wearetheborg Notebook Virtuoso
I'm a legit univ member, problem is, when I click the university special bundles link, it brings me back to the same page.
The second 12% link takes me shopping, but as mentioned here, the first link is what gives the hefty discount.
Anyone else run into the same problem ? -
I attend the University of Michigan and the 1330 was taken down yesterday approximately 9-10am CST. I called, but they would not meet me halfway on any sort of deal. It was funny. "Well, we can try to 'massage' some options and go through special channels to bring down the price." Then at the end, "Well, your total comes to $2123, but for $2125 you can get protection blah blah blah." Not exactly bringing down the price. I just ordered from U of Florida for $1811 plus some sort of free bag.

I decided to take the dive also. I saw the original post last night but when everything i wanted was configured i got a price of about $1650 and that wasnt including 200gb 7200rpm drive i wanted and 4gb of ram i'd have to buy one i received the laptop.
So i didnt jump, thinking this wasnt a pricing error i decided to think it over. I guess it was a big mistake on my part because everything went to hell by the following day. Well i tried again this time with another school and actually found it being a better deal for me considering the upgrades i wanted.
XPS M1330
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB, 4MB Cache)
Genuine Windows® Vista Home Premium Edition
Tuxedo Black
Slim and Light White LED Display with VGA Webcam
1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
Speed: 200GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Combo or DVD+RW Drive
CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW Drive)
128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 8400M GS
Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card
Built-in Bluetooth capability (2.0 EDR)
Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy HD Software Edition
56Whr Lithium Ion Battery (6 cell)
Dell Nylon Deluxe Carrying Case
Biometric Fingerprint Reader
3 Yr In-Home Service, Parts + Labor - Next Business Day
$1765
An additional $200 for 4gb of ram when i receive the notebook.
And hopefully upwards of $175-$200 off when i get rid of the 3yr In home service.
I know this is a little more than most are trying to spend but if you get rid of the 7500 and 200gb hard drive you can save about $500 off my currently configured price(something im also considering doing).
The reason i decided to go with the hard drive is because the upgrade cost was $175. Which is actually cheaper than what you can find the bare drive for.
Another thing i found interesting about the particular school i ordered from was that they had inflated cpu prices but much lower upgrade prices across the board. So for instance if you did grab the led screen which was $105 with them but $150 at other schools it offset the price of the more expensive cpu and you could still take advantage of the cheaper upgrades like i did.
My order just got confirmed but buyers remorse may be setting in. Im a little over $1900 after taxes and 2 day shipping.
This easily just turned into a $2000 notebook. Not that i think anything is wrong with spending 2 grand on a notebook but it isnt really a deal at that price point considering with dell coupons and cpu price drops it may be a $1100 machine in 6 months.
An Asus S37S with all the same components and 4gb of ram priced out at about $1577 without an os or taxes. The only reason i wanted the dell was the led screen and im paying alot for that luxury. -
-
MrDeeds - so how is it that one could get this config for just $1200? This would be for what, a T7300 and 120GB HDD instead of the config you showed above? I'm totally out of the loop, ugh.
-
Confirmation received, but it won't ship until 8/22 as everyone else has noted.
-
Damn I reordered yesterday and my ship date is 7/31. -
I also got an estimated ship date of 8/22. Apparently it's the LED screen that is causing the delay which is a shame because now I have to decide between getting the laptop too late and getting it without the LED backlight.
Here's to hoping that Dell overestimates their shipping dates. -
-
I know this is off topic and everything, but i just got a 200 credit on my account plus a 50 coupon on my M1210. So I got a a M1210 for 750. Thats leaves me plenty of money to get a 4GB RAM upgrade

I placed an order from Drake and Florida - no confirms. Any other universities out there that work? I just want to get this thing ordered and on the way.
Going to a see them at a kiosk today. -
The Florida CPU upgrade this morning is quite steep:
Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor T7300 (2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB, 4MB Cache) [add $346.95]
and it is definitely not offset by the other upgrades as they are about average:
Slim and Light White LED Display with VGA Webcam [add $127.50]
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz [add $127.50]
Speed: 160GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) [add $136.00]
and while one can upgrade later the memory and HDD, the processor upgrade is the hardest blow here.
Any ideas what one can reasonably shave off now and upgrade later. -
I just got mine confirmed from Drake... and trying to cancel the one from Florida... lol
-
Maybe mine will confirm but I dont think I want it. If I got it I would probably sell it.
-
Hold the fort, my "1st" Drake order was just confirmed after 2 days. Estimated ship date of 8/22. Ha ha - this thing will be obsolete by then.
-
Dell is playing a great marketing scheme. I don't believe for a second this is a pricing mistake. Dell releases their new laptops and knows over the next few months students and others will be shopping for use at school or otherwise in the fall. They create "excitement" by making the best deals harder to find, knowing that sites such as this one will catch it and create a wave of orders. I am sure some of the Dell reps are even posters on here.
The 1330 is a nice machine, but the realistic price range is between $1000 and $1200 for the components it has. -
-
-
-
-
is about $250 more than what I got it for. I just hope I dont get cancelled or something.
-
Dell scares minutes ago...I got a confirmation email, but there's only a printer! So I called them, and they give me another confirmation number, which is for the XPS! Wow, 8/22, but Ithink I can wait!
-
anybody else still wating for confirmation???
-
-
Got my Drake one confirmed this morning also (I had placed the order two nights ago). Figured for sure that the thing was going to get canceled or simply never ordered. I find it interesting that early yesterday afternoon one of posters said he talked to an Indian rep who said that the orders from the previous night would go through tonight or tomorrow and that is exactly what happened for me and what appears to be quite a few others who bought Thursday night. What luck! Total w/printer cancelled: $1400. Estimated ship date of 8/7.
-
I got mine with all the upgrades for 1900. Although I'm buying 4 gigs of 800mhz from crucial. I was even able to add complete care for three years. After working in a Dell Certified Repair center I know no one should be without complete care. Old inspiron mobo's that get spilled on cost about $350. I can't imagine this brand new xps. Anyway thanks for the tip!

What could I call dell on about a D630 or m1210 to get a 200 dollar code or whatever because I really need a big usb jump drive
