555M mod was about to kill my chip !!
After I flashed the BIOS, I got a black screen and BSOD.
But thank god , I was able to uninstall the driver and now I'm on stock BIOS.

I will not flash my BIOS again.

why you use over colocking of 555m
    if you see here
    Notebook GPUs - GeForce
    you will found that the 525m , 540m & 550m
have the same chipset shape and cuda core and ram

but 550m has anther shape and cuda core

so best is to use 540m it will save your temp as it use volt under stock volt :D

I told him there was a 6C temperature increase. He wouldn't listen lol. The 550M also has a very different vBIOS.

Go into BIOS Setup. Enter the service tag there. You can find your service tag on bottom of laptop.

You only need to flash the MAIN BIOS module. Not the others...

I will take a look for the N5010

MXIP go with the 540m mod

Why do you need the vesa resolution changed anyway?

You only need it if you do illegal things I guess. Like installing Mac OSX. Or maybe you like working without drivers :D

yes i need it for chamelon boot screen it is stretched and it chamelon doesnt support fly patching vesa mode of our chipset

so the solution is to change vesa mode from 4:3 resolutions to our screen resolution
    :D

iam not sure where the bit of vesa mode on this vbios :(
i searched on vbios of our laptop and found that 1366*768 is applied nearly word lvds
on vbios from latest driver 800*600 is applied on this site

    so what

    Hi,
NO, you'll end up with a brick if it even succeeded to flash your L750 with this bios.
You need to mod your toshiba bios, eg: dump the vbios from the toshiba bios, edit the vbios and then repack your toshiba bios with the changed vbios and then flash.

I could make one for you for a small donation if you like :D Because I need to spend time (1-2 hours) on making the BIOS for you
    I assume you have a GT-525M.

Just tell me which mod you want.

I will make you the mod + update your GPU to the latest VGA BIOS of the GT-525M

Just note that your laptop can be bricked as I cannot test it. You even don't seem to know that every computer model has a different BIOS. I do not recommend flashing custom BIOS'es since it can cause a lot of trouble for you :)

It's worth the trouble PJDS. IF you have Optimus or the ATI equivalent you can do undervolting without problems. IF your ATI gpu stops working you have the IGP to fall back too to flash the stock bios again :)

Has anyone received better benchmarks by overclocking the memory clocks of the GT-525M ?

672/1344/900 is giving same results as 672/1344/987

    hi djjonastybe

any progress on vesa mode :p

    about changing nvidia dev id

    i havean idea

on mac os x i can inject any dev id or any info to any card on notebook

    using acpi table (dsdt.aml)

chamelon boot loader can load modded dsdt.aml so it is easy to do with out any bios edit that is on mac

on luinx i think it is also easy by replacing table on root

for windows don't know if there are also way to load modded acpi or not
    need to search

if no way i can extract new acpi from windows and apply only mod for dev id

then replace new one with that on bios :D

nvidia not problem but no prblem to edit vesa mod of nvidia card to 1920 /1080 as it is connected hdmi only
but this is useless for laptop screen
just edit vesa mode on our intel bios

    about mac
    bluetooth working
on case of dell wireless 1702 card you need to restart from windows to mac to get it work

the not working till now nvidia card as optimus isnt on macbookpro
may there are way to get work throw hdmi

touch pad working only on single touch mode

Hello. I want you to do some small bios mod for Mac OS X users like me.
Yes, Intel HD, Wireless, Audio, keyboard & touchpad, webcam, cardreader works in mac os.

But, to have native speedstep we need to patch MSR 0xE2 in bios. Bit 15 is lock bit. For N5110 in this msr we have: 0x1E008404 needs to be replaced with 0x1E000404. Basic information on msr modding: http://forum.notebookreview.com/8002488-post141.html. This url shows how to edit bit 1 of MSR 0x13c. This need to be done with 0xE2 bit 15 (set from 1 to 0).
I wasnt able to find how to mod this.

You have the stock BIOS in the All-in-one package v3 from first post. Just use the same method to flash, or you can download the BIOS from Dell's support site, double click the file and it will flash without using any 3'rd party program.

That's why I reverted back to the Original BIOS.
It's dangerous because that's such low voltage for that overclock.

Anyway right now I overclock using MSI Afterburner and set the overclock to be set on the Windows startup, much safer than BIOS modding.

    0.96v runs fine 672/1344/987
thats max I can get out of it stable 24/24

for the 555M mod I need to put higher voltage probably. Which mod did crash on you of the 555M mod? what is the 3d voltage?

I am currently working on the AES-NI thingy.

Possibly I hope to release the vesa mode as well when I am done testing...

If you get driver crashes with the overclock mods please let me know. That means I need to increase the voltage of the 3D clocks...

at 0.86v you should be able to reach 672/1344/987. Higher gives instabilities.

Those with an i3 or i5 can overclock their GPU. Those with an i7 really need to watch their temps.

    Note that:

600mhz +10% may result in +10% heat dissipation

But 70C vs 77C is a big difference if you understand me...

I dont like any temps above 70C for comfort gaming use.

    So summary:
    AES-NI
    vesa

I hope to get these things working... But it seems objdump is not working in my msys installation...

Awesome , But I will overclock with MSI Afterburner as I want to get the MAXIMUM performance.

Great work but sadly I don't know what is AES-NI or VESA :D !

Can you try the 555M or 550M mod again?
    Let me know stability...

I may also make a GPU memory overclock build.
The first one to be released will be the 540M mod :)
