Can you post GPU-Z 0.6.2 screenshot ?

 

hey guys! well i am new in flashing bios stuff. ive got dell 5110, i7, 8GB Ram etc. the problem i am facing is while playing game my laptop shut down automatically and burning like hell i guess by flashing undervolted bios i might get rid of this problem.

ive download latest A10 Mod Bios. kindly guide me about couple of things.

Which MOD BIOS would be best for my laptop by keeping view my problem in mind ?

I cant find any flashing tools. kindly provide me link and tutorial will be much appreciated

 

First try to buy a cooling pad and try to keep the vents of the laptop open. If that doesn't help then use the modded BIOS.

 

ALREADY TRIED BOTH THINGS, INFACT I USED BLOWER TWICE IN ORDER TO CLEAN THE FAN BUT STILL NO SUCCESS. ONE MORE THING IF I FLASHED MODDED BIOS, IS THERE ANY WAY TO GO BACK TO STOCK BIOS?

 

Yes you can go back to the original BIOS. If you have you already tried both methods then you can try flashing the modded BIOS, If it doesn't help in temps. Your only option would be repasting.

ive flashed a10 v83. its working very good. it also solved my problem. now my laptop does not shut down automatically and remain very cool but one thing i cant able to access FN+X menu. kindly tell me where i need to press this combination? On BIOS Screen?

 

FN + X combination is used to prevent the 100% fan issue.
Why do you need it?

Translation: No, my gpu is not overclocked because of heat and I'm using the stock BIOS. Try using MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision to overclock.

 

thank u i know how to overclock but i can`t do that because temp goes high ,, i think i need good pc .. before i go to gt 525 i used ati 5650 with over clock and i was happy to play on high setting but here with gt 525 its too weak ,, to the post maker try to make 0.86 as u said may be it works well while oc.

 

oh okay. i thought by pressing FN+X i will get new option menu like BIOS Setup

I was getting extremely bad temps because of a bad repaste job. I repasted yesterday and temps are much better.

Intel bios is located in module 062CF1F-8473-4AA3-8793-600BC4FFE9A8 at offset 0x49c9a (0x49d22 if it was extracted with mmtool)

 

didnt found it on mmtool or dump of pheniox tools
how can i find it ?
i use modded file here 2.6 MB
i think i search on wrong part

added vesa mode to the code needed to be patched but no result !!

hey guys i am unable to get the physx sign in gpuz as shown in pic,also i am gettin transparent texture in nfs the run and bf3 when i set texture to high setting,texture is fine when i set to medium.This issue is with 525m old driver 268.30 only,when i install the 301.42 driver the physx sign comes back in gpuz and the texture is fine at high settings in the run and bf3.
I am stickin to old driver coz it gives more fps than 301.42 driver and the 3dmark06 score of old driver is 8019 while that of new one is 6000 something.so its clear the old driver is better but the physx is not enabled in it i think.Does ur 268.30 driver shows the physx sign in gpuz???

 

Install the latest 304.79 beta version drivers it shows Physx.And also works well.

 

Can u post the 3dmark06 score of 304.79 driver?

 

I dont have much bandwidth to download 3dmark06 but i have 3dmark11 installed.

 

Thnx for helpin but i tried 296.10 verde driver n got 8300 in 3dmark06,also nfs the run got stable at high settings,physx sign also back.Best driver i think for 525m.

 

I made the A10_083.rom
and it is working on BF3 and there wasn't any problem
the Temp was 75 while playing

Hey guys, so i've read this thread for a bit and tryed to catch up. Thing is.... i've got the N5110 with a i7-2630QM... and as you know those get verry hot. I get 90C+ If i am in high performance plan..i'm limiting the cpu at 80% via power plan settings and try to get a max temps under 90C.
Now i am asking you guys, if i do those bios mods and stuff as i read i can turn the gt525m into gt550m or gt540m, anyway the question is will it get any hotter than its now? I would guess its a yes, but still askin xD.

 

Make sure laptop fan area is raised so airflow is not blocked,check if air is comin out of vent with pressure or not as dust may b blockin it,its a quad core so high temp is expected.U can overclock gpu without moddin bios n use 296.10 verde driver.Oc only if not gettin playable fps in any game.I hav finished the run,bf3 at medium settings without oc.

 

Same here,not using overclock all the time. By the way how its your hdd performing? i've got the 640 one @ 5400rpm and when im extracting stuff or doing something like installing a big game..stuff gets pretty crazy, laptop not responding sometimes,or deelay. Is the 7200rpm any better?

 

Hdd is goin gr8 n smooth,but dvd rom has been changed once from dell,problem was not reading files bigger than 3 gb.Perform a diagnostic test at startup of ur pc,n get it changed,ur pc must b in warranty.

Seems like a must have, because it's a software related BIOS. Windows 8 will be out soon and maybe some people will upgrade.

I'm glad Dell is giving Windows 8 support to this machine and caring about issues, though I haven't faced any problems with Windows 8.

Updating your BIOS is a bit risky, you must know what you're doing. I don't hold any responsibility.

Hello dell-n5110 friends,i am new to this site and this is my first post,although i am using the A09 mod..I am using A09 0.83v-0.83v-0.90v mod bios and msi afterburner at 650-1300-920..It worked well until now with temperatures around 85 C with cooling pad..Now i changed my drivers of 305 of nvidia and it goes over 100C and gpu temp is going 92C...I see now that with nvidia driver there is power management problem...which driver i should choose,296.10 295.73 or lower?With which bios i would reach the 740/1480/987 configuration safely with good temperatures?Should i turn turbo boost off?Whats the difference between 0.95V and 0.9V?I am playing a lot of games with my laptop

 

Use GPU observer gadget or GPU-Z check GPU voltage. I think newer drivers overvolt the card or something.

 

The name is determined by the Nvidia Graphics Drivers which retrieves the device id from the GPU which is hardcoded in the chip itself

So no it's not possible. The only device id present in the vbios is to identify whether the BIOS should use that BIOS for that particular chip I believe.

Could you, if its not too much trouble(only a little ), please make one with 0.925V?

 

I can only do 0.01v increments.

And to be honest, the 0.03v difference is not worth it. And it consumes lots of time. Since I need to extract the BIOS from my N5110, then extract the BIOS, search the module where the GT-525M vBIOS is located, mod the BIOS with a hex editor, overwrite the custom vBIOS, compile back. :thumbsup: I did 2-3 hours to make this pack properly.

Let's say I make €0.01 a day so it's bit of pointless anyway.

I am also going to upload hacked drivers for 540M, 550M & 555M so the 525M can be shown in that particular name. I will only support WHQL drivers. I have packaged all three driver mods together. Filesize is heavily reduced thanks to 7z.

Download is around 380MB for the hacked drivers.

If anyone knows some good cooling mods or other things to decrease temperature post here. But it must make a big difference if you post it. I can try turning this into an official thread.

I am still looking to enable extra menus but I haven't been able so far. I am doing my best.. I am looking for a alternative to AMIBCP to do the job without bricking. It simply refuses to open.

 

Link is definately problematic. Link takes a long time to load and when I click on the slow share thing, nothing happens. At all. Click on the high-speed and another page loads quickly.

Now its giving me a server error.

 

Not sure why, but my laptop is 8 months old and using 0.83V version from beggining, it works at GT540M frequency 100% stable.
Other users need the 0.95v mod? Is my GPU better than most then?
I can play games all day without issues @ 1400MHz.
