    I'm already going with the glossy, sexyness of the red...to match my 1530 ;) :) Had my mind made up on that color when we first heard of Mini I...WoOT ;) :) Now...it's 4 days..4 days..4 days... lulz.

    This is a really exciting time for netbooks. Dell's netbook is coming out soon and so is Lenovo's.

    It's like a race!

    One thing I noticed about the Dell is that some of the specs I've seen list RAM as 1024MB Max. I wonder if that means it cannot be upgraded to 2GB or if that means the max it will ship with is 1GB.

    One thing I noticed as well is that the RAM is running at 800 Mhz... this is faster than all of the other UMPCs I have heard about which are running at 667 Mhz...

    Yes. I was planning on getting the matching mouse and the flip camcorder. I was going to get a sleeve and a bag but I don't really like the choices they give you for the studio 15. But I'm thinking about going to like best buy or staples and see what they have for bags and sleeves.

    I just checked dell.ca and there are artwork now! How am I going to decide!?

    I am having trouble I like the red swirl and sunburst and I kind of like seaweed. But I also like Plum purple and spring green. I'm going to go nuts! LOL

    Ah yes...the decisions to be made...maybe you could just get a blend of all of them! ;) Now that would make an interesting color scheme! LOL..

    You wanted Spring Green, right? hmmm. The seaweed isn't bad...but the plum purple is nice also... ;) :)

    What you should do is find all the colora you want, and place them together, and do a side by side comparison (online)..and maybe that will help you? ;)

    That is quite unlikely. And really if you wanted to listen to music with a UMPC you would pretty much have to go with headphones. ;) Otherwise sound quality is kinda disappointing, since the speakers can really only handle windows sounds and other simplistic sounds well... :(

    That Ideapad does look tempting. You won't see those in the Dell 910s but perhaps the 10 or 12 inch model released later.

    the lenovo ideapad does not come with a dvd drive unless you are buying one separately with your order from the lenovo website. the specs on the website are error filled, it also says it comes with the x4500 integrated graphics...

    Yes, I would not trust the Lenovo site yet. Their product pages are so filled with mistakes you would think their site got hacked.

    It definitely does not come with a DVD drive (internal or external). It does not have an X4500 GPU and unfortunately can't turn water into wine.

    I just wonder if Lenovo is going to reward those people who buy it anyway and then complain. It is Lenovo's fault after all... even though they have disclaimers on their site.

    The S10 does seem like a really nice laptop. I think it was obviously rushed out the door to beat Dell and whoever else is coming out with netbooks soon.

    Although it's hard I'd wait a month or so until things settle. Then we can see other offerings as well :)

    I'm not so interested in Dell's 8.9" ever since seeing an 8.9" at Best Buy and realizing how tiny it is, but if they announce a 10" that would be awesome.

    New to this forum and have been following the netbook info lately and though I share in some of my thoughts...

    Latest reports coming in from the internets seem to suggest that the Lenovo specs with the X4500 graphics chip (way faster than the 950 used by most manufacturers in netbooks today) is an error on the Lenovo website. Also, the DVD drive is an error.

    Went to a local mall in the weekend and a store had an Asus eeepc 901 on display. WOW it really is a sweet looking machine. It definately looks like a nice expensive piece of kit compared to their earlier models and even to other netbooks out there.

    I am looking forward to this new Dell 910 as it looks promissing. Not sure if I quite like the specs. The black model being showed on the internets looks less appealing than the marketing shots shown months ago with the two-tone color scheme. After seeing the Asus 901 it's going to be a tough choice... Asus 901 has some pretty compelling features such as 6-cell battery (6-8 hours) and an under/over clocking feature, Wireless-N networking and a larger trackpad from what I can tell... The one single feature that really makes the Asus 901 shine is the 'multi-touch' features... much easier to scroll up/down and left/right using two fingers on the touchpad than the right-side scroll area most other trackpads have making it easier to browse the internets... maybe just maybe this dell 910 will have 'multi-touch' capabilities but who knows... The Lenovo apparently is getting multi-touch trackpad capabilities too...

    One other thing noticed about the dell 910 is that it uses the 'slower' MLC type SSD drives. So performance of XP is not going to be the best. Obvious reason is to save costs. Asus for example use a fast 4GB SSD to run the OS and then use a secondary SSD drive that is slower for users to store data.

    So hopefully this Friday will provide more insight into this new dell 910 and I can finally make a decision on which netbook to buy... cause these 9 inch form factors are great for travelling especially when you have to carry another work 14incher around too...

    I am digging the RED dell 910 but probably get the black as it is a more inconspicuous color...

    omg the suspense is killing me... will it be out friday? or is it just another rumor that will make me go fetal again... and will the spec's live up to my expectations? and will they have a nice variety of colors? so many questions.... and so much time... time till i find out the answers... atleast tommorrow i work and have something to keep my mind off this...
