Haha, that isn't the first time I've got asked that. I just play TF2, so I don't need any beefy graphics. The rest is for smooth multitasking. I think I'll pick up an ATI card soon though, maybe something a little better.

Wow, these things are really dropping in price. I think by the time I am ready to buy I will look at a 4850. They seem to be around $150 will rebates.

Any word of any conferences tomorrow or will this just hit the site? I did order a Lenovo Ideapad since they have coupon dropping it down to $360 and 10% cashback from Live.com, BUT the delivery date is in October! Hopefully these will ship much sooner!

 

There is a ton of confusion around the Lenovo. This morning I spoke with customer service and got things cleared up a bit. Here is what I found.

-The black model will have black battery and keyboard.
-It will not have a cd/dvd drive (duh)
-It will not have x4500 graphics (again duh)
-It will not have Bluetooth (This disaspoints more than anything)
-It will have a 4-1 Media Card reader

I'm pretty sure that covers all the confusion there was on it. I went ahead and ordered one on th 18th when they were released but came close to cancelling a couple times due to all the confusion.

I'm really excited about the Dell release. There is rumor that Wal-Mart bought 150K of these and will be selling them tomorrow. I don't know how true it is but I'll be rocking one tomorrow if the rumors turn out to be true.

BTW, nice site you guys have here. Mind if I stick around a while?

However, I doubt that only Wally World will be selling them. It would be worth dropping by there tonight at Midnight to see what rolled in on the truck.

okay its currently 7am in the morning in australia. So far we havnt seen anything new on the dell website other than the 13 inch one now on there.

 

Do you have any Wal-Marts in Australia? The Inspiron 13 being on the Dell site is a new development though. It was just sold retail until now.

 

I'll call my local Wally World and talk with the Dept Manager after work. They would probably know about a new product. I'll post back.

Dude, if anything it's just going to be announced tomorrow, it certainly won't be available in retail stores...

 

Why wouldn't it be? The Inspiron 1318 just showed up one day. And certainly the same can happen with the Mini.

 

If you are really curious just call techsupport and make them check the date for you.
Releases dates are on the Dell traningsite ( http://training.us.dell.com/ and no, you can't access it).

Probably someone that still works for Dell on these boards too...

 

if this doesn't come out tommorrow... i may have to kill someone... and the way things are looking... my sister's stuffed teddy bear better be afraid...

i wouldnt expect walmart to know too many things about laptops... they just see it as new product... if it's anything like other stores they will get these shipments in the morning and push it all before the store opens... usually you can't see whats coming until the shipment is there and the system receives it...
unfortunately all the rumor days line up with days i have work...
with my luck by the time i order it everyone on this forum will have bought it and i'll be waiting for a ship date of January...

According to eeepcnews.de from Germany, the 910 will be released in the first week of September, its brother with the 12.1" screen will come in October. In addition to that, it will feature a Linux with a special custom easy-mode.
