    Great news, grats. These few days are so nerve wracking, more than the laptop being in the build stage. I can't wait until I have the laptop in my hands on Tuesday. What bothers me even more is it is being delivered tomorrow, just not to my house and I don't want to drive 40 minutes away to get it. Still excited as hell.

    Yeah! It finally shipped. The automated no. says its on its way to the carrier so there's no tracking number yet, but the ESD is this Tuesday. :D Almost two weeks before my original ESD!

    Well, it sounds like dell finally got their act together (or lets just hope) and now we only have to wait 2 or 3 days which is no big deal considering I waited 4 weeks lol. but as Lotta said its going to seem alot longer cuz you know its been shipped. Good example for me is that its Sunday and DHL doesn't do anything on Sunday but I still checked my tracking number twice today. I am just so excited to get the new and my first Laptop

    My laptop went out at 7AM today and didn't arrive at the shipping location. I don't really mind because I wasn't there today. But still I really hope it arrives tomorrow when I am there all day (it's at my family's business).

    EDIT: Lol, I just found out they attempted to deliver it at 5:02, 2 minutes after the business closes and no one is there.

    EDIT Aug 26: Well today is the day...again, went out for delivery...again. It went out an hour later than yesterday. I'm hoping Monday is just busy to catch up on weekends.

    The standard of service Dell provide is a disgrace I ordered my laptop the 10th of August and was told it was going to be delivered no later then the 29th of August. I go on the website this morning to check my order status only to find out it has been delayed till the 16th of September. I've emailed them several times and recieved no replies. My specifications are:
    Colour: Spring Green
    2.0GHz dual core processor
    ATI Radeon HD 3450 Graphics card
    4GB RAM
    250GB HDD
    1280x800 screen
    9 Cell Battery (Which I was told would shorten delivery time)

    Just called the automated order status line and heard that my system is in the boxing stage. :D I guess I can stop biting my nails now.

    Finally received mine today after nearly 3 weeks of delays. So far it's great, no complaints. I'll post later in the other forum with pics. Mine has the somewhat elusive eSATA port on it too. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet but I will do so in the next little while.

    Dhl Tried to deliver mine yesterday, but the mail room in the building was closed due to a new machine installation. today they tried again and again, there was a problem. it seems that no one was there to sign the package.
    I spoke with DHL as I read somewhere here in the forum that after two attempts they allow the package to be recieved only by the person listed in the paper they have (thank god I put also my friend's name on it too). BUT, in their system it says that they will try again tomorrow, and DHL's rep. said that there is no problem for others to recieve it for me.
    so I left a message to my friend cause I want to know that my notebook is safe haha.
    hopefully someone can sign it tomorrow.

    as for lotta221211 - we are waiting for your update. do you have the new toy in your hands?

    Yes, got it today, I was at my family's business and an employee called me outside and there was a DHL truck around the corner. He actually drove past my store and was parked a few places down so I walked over and I asked him if he had a package for my address and he reluctantly said yes. I was so excited.

    I'm on it right now, I'll be able to post pictures tomorrow night. From what I've seen it's great and I'm very happy with my choice. I love the tangerine color.

    Luckily all the right parts are here and the laptop is in perfect condition.

    Im new here and had purchased the Studio 15 on August 20 with the ESD of September 9. After reading about how everyones laptop was delayed I thought I would check to see if my laptop was even in the building stages as the website stated so I called the automated number and was shocked when it said that my laptop had been shipped.. the date it was shipped was April 19, 1999. I am guessing that my laptop will be delayed as it is the school season so Im not too worried but Im overly excited after reading everyones reviews. I cant wait for mine.
    Congrats to everyone who finally received theirs after so many delays.. enjoy them.

    Mine went from still Boxing at 5:30am 8/28 to Shipped by 8:00am 8/28
    EDD 8/29 (no tracking # yet, no e-mail notification yet) (fingers crossed)

    YES....mine has shipped today!

    I ordered on the 12th of August and Estimated Date of delivery was the 1st of Sept...(however this is a statutory holiday labour day)..so it is scheduled to come in on the 2nd!!! No delays at all!

    Now i just hope it is perfect when I get it!

    Woohoo...there hope for you dudes who haven't received yours yet.

    OK I have my Studio and so far it is sweet the only issues I have is the flex in the keyboard and the tiny speakers but the display is awesome, backlit keyboard is sweet havent played any games on it yet. cant wait to hear what everyone else thinks about their Studios

    Just checked my order status online and the laptop has shipped (a whole week earlier than anticipated). I got the DHL Tracking number and everything. Weird thing though...my accessories (Bluetooth Remote, laptop sleeve, Logitech V220 Mouse and the eGo 250GB external hard drive) are on the same Dell Purchase ID number but a different order number and still in Pre-Production . Any clue as to what could be holding those up? I mean it really doesn't matter since my laptop will be here sooner than expected :D but its still nice to know :cool:

    For those (like me) who read these posts -
    My Studio was listed as boxing until yesterday morning when it went to shipped.
    I live in Nashville, where my future laptop was assembled. It was pick up by DHL yesterday afternoon, 15 miles or so from its final destination, then shipped to a Memphis DHL regional hub, 190 miles away, then shipped back to Nashville overnight. Hopefully I'll get it today, but the shear waste of energy in its travels is a sad business model.

    From my understanding, Dell doesn't ship directly from their factory, they have to send the package to the nearest DHL hub. Since I guess there wasn't one in Nashville, your computer had to get to you in a round about way. Maybe DHL should build a hub in Nashville to make it easier. :)

    I'd like to start off by saying DHL SUCKS! :mad:

    Anyway! I received my laptop this morning (love it). Got two boxes. One contained the actual laptop, the other contained the sleeve I ordered as well. Hmmm??? Miss my V220 mouse, 250GB external hard drive and Bluetooth remote. Check the DHL tracking page. That package was coming from the same DHL Hub but apparently not the same truck. Checked around noon and that package is saying "we tried to deliver but the location is closed. Will attempt the next business day". I call to see what was going on. Rep put me on hold while she contacted the local hub. Came back on the line and said they will reattempt delivery today. Told her I'd be here til 5. She said they will be here by then. Fast foward to 4:15 PM. Checked online. "we tried to deliver but location is closed. Will attempt the next business day". ***??? Called DHL. This rep confirmed my address 3 times. Asked how long we were open today, told her 7 to 5. Told her I was literally in the mailroom at 3:33 when the phantom second attempt was made. She asked if I wanted to file a complaint. You bet! We'll see if it shows up tomorrow. :confused:

    Love everything about the Studio though. Can understand how some would have problems with the media controls. No problems with the touchpad (3 hours of use). Love the DellDock...makes for a much cleaner desktop. And the backlit keyboard? Works great in my rather dim office since halogen lights give me a headache. :D

    My estimated delivery date was Spetember 1 but as that is a holiday mine was delivered Sept. 2. Works great, I just wish that the purple was a few shades lighter.

    Ordered on the 31st of August, EDD is September 23rd. My friend got hers four days after she ordered it. O_O But it was the Inspiron one. But anyway. I wonder how the Australian shipping dates & stuff is kinda like..

    I'm from australia too. I ordered my purple studio 15 on the 12th of August. ETA is Sept 11. Currently status is still 'work in progress'. I got sick of waiting and emailed dell. They told me that there's currently a shortage of purple covers. They also said that the ETA will be revised to Sept 25 (the dell online order status is a joke). Not happy Jan. This is over a month. It's surprising to see that your ETA is Sept 23 - maybe you chose configurations that aren't in high demand.

    Okay I've just chatted with an online sales rep and she said there's a shortage on the hinge right now. It will takes three weeks from when I ordered. GRR!

    I ordered my Red Studio 15 from Dell India on 1'st Sep and got an EDD of 17th September. The order went into production on the 1'st of Sep and been in the "Work In Progress" stage till then, desperately waiting for it to go into the shipped stage :(

    Antzy, what's the number to call for a sales rep for Australia? I can only find the number for the automated order status service.

    BTW just got an email from Dell expressing their 'sincerest' apologies that they had to move back the delivery date to 25th of September.

    It's 13-something I think :s one of those numbers. I went online to chat to them. Just go to dell.com.au and find it there :) I usually go to the "laptop" section and there's a picture of it that you can click on to chat to one of the reps.


    Haha, serious? I got an email from them last night, replying to my hell lame "disappointed at them" kind of email, and they said they're waiting on the delayed part, which would come either that day (yesterday) or today. They put me on the priority list, and said my EDD is now Sept 18th / 19th. Hurray. I got pretty scared when I got an email about the CARE Case thingo. ._.


    Never mind I got the number for you :) They are the Customer Care reps.

    YAY!! mine shipped today!!! sometime this afternoon ^^ cuz i checked around almost mid afternoon and it was still "work in progress" but now it's "ship from factory"! YAY! i'm so happy!!

    does anyone think that they (shipping people / whoever) work during weekends? cuz it was shipped today (friday), does that mean it can land in Australia on the weekend? and then they deliver it to me or whatever on monday? :] eeeeeeee!

    WHAT THE HELL! I tried to check my order status online, and they couldn't find my order number. OMFG. i tried so many times. then i called up the number and no order number existed! ahhhh! then i tried again online and it worked... WTH!? i seriously hope my order is okay. or that my laptop isn't with someone else. omfg i got so scared. :(

    :( I ordered my studio 15 on august 28th and it spent ages in production..then I emailed them and it magically changed to ready for shipping..
    I'ma gettin frustrated!
    Right now it dispatched for delivery but not before I emailed Dell where they told me..
    "Due to high volume of orders your order has been delayed at the production stage."
    "
    Your order was signed over to Interlink on 12-09-08 so you should expect delivery next day 13-09-08 between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM."

    but bleh..it's 9:39pm now and no laptop :(..I'm probably just being impatient :p but they probably don't deliver on Sundays..and I might miss them on monday/wednesday cos I'll be at uni!! :(

    Hi,

    Are you able to track your laptop once it reaches the "Ship from factory" Stage? Or does it have to go to "In Transit" to be able to track the shipment from the courier guys.

    For Dell India, the order number prefixed by 78 is the tracking number for the courier site Bluedart. My laptop has been in the "Ship from factory" stage since Friday, but the reference number hasnt entered the courier guys database yet. Meanwhile the EDD has been pushed one day back to Thursday. :confused:

    ohhh. well i don't know how we get a tracking number :s i haven't heard from dell yet since like, two weeks ago. the courier hasn't called me yet, either. and the status is still "shipped from factory". i hope they call me tomorrow.

    the courier service that dell australia uses is star track express, right? o_o

    Wahoo..!! Got it today...love it! :)...but on first boot it came up with a black screen sayin memory needed to be fixed or something...but I opened it up..fiddled round with it and now it's workin perfect!

    so ya...yay! Studio = amazing!

    and Schenken does the service in Australia. :x i think.


    whaa okay dell just called me and made a delivery time with me just then haha. he said for tomorrow and i was like, ohhh ok o_o and he was like, didn't want it at that time? and i was like, nah it's even better. xD haha. yay! tomorrow now! happy happy joy joy!

    good to hear antzy. unfortunately they still haven't called me. So i called them. They said i should get it by the end of this week. Well it's thursday, so unless they call on the same day they deliver, I don't know when i'll get it. Out of curiosity, I checked out the studio 15's they had at officeworks. I gotta say I was a bit disappointed with the way it looked - maybe it was because it was surrounded by other laptops and it didn't really stand out.

    what! i went to officeworks like last month and yeah they only had inspirons there... because i wanted to see the studio 15's, but there was none. :(

    man I can't trust dell's order status tool. It said it passed customs early this week, and I call up and they say it just passed customs today! Looks like I will be getting my order by next week after all

    update: called the courier - i'll be getting it on monday morning

    Mine Came a Day before the Estimated delivery Date. My Advice: Dont rely on the order status, too dilligently. It can give you a vague idea , at best. And even after delivered it showed the status as "Ship from Factory" for the whole of next week :)
