Phone says pre-production and online says in production.

 

did we ever find out about if the hdmi does in fact transfer audio? i looked at the manual online and it says it does...but that doesnt really mean anything for sure

 

It really shows the lack of thoroughness in reviews these days that not a single one of them has mentioned whether HDMI carries audio or not. If I were reviewing the M1330, believe you me you'd know about it immediately. It would take me about 4 seconds to plug it into my TV to test. Now why paid reviewers can't do this I don't know...

That said, I'm skeptical of the M1330 being able to do audio, in that the 8400M is just a standard laptop graphics card. But I'd love to be wrong...

 

i ordered min 29/6. still in 'work in progress' it hasn't changed since day one. expected delivery originally 16/7 is now 7/8.

 

Get this man his laptop now!

 

i ordered mines on 7/2 and my friends on 7/1. both are still in the build stage. this is frustrating

 

I was wondering how come some people were getting phone calls about their orders status from dell. But I finally just got one myself. The dell rep said that my order would (or should) be shipping in 2-3 days.

 

haha well if i get mine soon i'll for sure be running alot of tests and that will be one of my first ones since i plan on hooking it up to my 42'' lcd every now and then

Mine was ordered end of June and I'm still in pre-production. I called Dell a couple of days ago and they upgraded me to next day shipping and a manager called me the next day to see if there is anything else he can do.

Basically his explanation was that the one's that are shipping or in build already are different configurations... mine was T7300, Red Lid (I have a feeling color is important), LED, 2Gig, 120GB, Bluetooth, SB Audigy Software, Wireless N card...

He said there is nothing else holding up my order. Parts are not there yet.

 

when the hell is dell supposed to update their blog on the m1330 like they sed they would?

 

I'm seriously considering canceling.

 

Wanna talk about frustrating...the four computers I want all have like 2-3 weeks before they will be available.

D630 - 16 days due to screen
M1330 - because Dell Sucks!
T61 - 18 days due to screen
SZ650N/B - not released until Aug 1st and may not be in stock!

Damn, I hate computer companies. I found some T61's on ebay but I just can't trust people on ebay, plus they don't have all the specs I want!!!

 

What happened to the M1330 you had shipped to you?

 

They still have 6.5 hours...I am sure they will wait til the last minute, as I am sure it is bad news!

Nothing, its been stuck in the build stage and I talked to a manager at Dell who told me that ALL processors allocated to the M1330 were on backorder and they would not pull from other laptops, like inspirons, to fill our orders. She said the processors have another 16 day lead time!!!!

They said first that the problem with my shipping date are customs problems in Venezuela, and when I insist, they said that they have production problems and I need to wait 3 to 4 weeks on production. If this situation persist, they said that I need to call to my sales rep to solve this situation. I don´t understand why DELL do this with his customers... The call center in Latinamerica don´t have information...!

 

We will find out in a few hours.

 

Its worse in the States... some representatives told us to cancel our orders!

 

Starting to think I really made a mistake by ordering the M1330 and not just getting a ThinkPad or D630 in the beginning.

 

I think most of us have that thought every day.

 

the m1330 offers things that the thinkpad and d630 don't have

LED backlight screen (much better screen)
webcam (thinkpad has it but not d630)
hdmi output
thinner and lighter

 

Yep, its unfortunate...hell, I am considering going back to Mac and just installing XP again and using it to configure windows networks.

I remember last week when the announcement was placed on Direct2Dell how so many distrusted and stated they were just covering their own butts.

Then again, many times today we would get remarks like "The direct 2 Dell blog site doesn't have one thing thats true on it ." (Care to guess where that one came from???)

Yet we all sit here patiently counting the hours until midnight awaiting, well yes, awaiting imminent bad news.

Why do we sit so patiently awaiting that all important word of brother Lionel?? Just so we can hollar at the top of our lungs at 12:01am that they lied again!! It must have been planned like that!!!


I visualize some guy ripping his glasses off at his computer desk in the basement, punching the wall as he scales the first set of stairs to the main floor and then doubing stepping the second to the top.

Alas he sees his bedroom and rushes in and grabs his wife by the shoulders. He shakes and shakes and shakes her stating "Wake Up they lied !!! They lied can you believe it???"

 

Why DELL launch this product worldwide if they can´t supply US? It´s a bad policy... All the problem is the LED Display... They stop offering in Latinamerica... I saw in Ebay some people selling XPS M1330...

 

Can we say 5000 posts and most of us don't even have our M1330s. This is making me sick.
