Haven't tried but it always worked before. Dell is probably going to shut down all communication that way they don't have to face the issue...lol
-
Dell "What problems with the M1330? We have not heard anything from our customers!"
-
Agreed, I am from Austin, TX. DELL's turf, ordered 6/26, checked this morning ... "Build Stage"....
As soon SZ 6 is available, I am going to Sony store and buy one. This is ridiculous, and where the update on d2d? What ashame!
-
got to love the university price of $20 for office

Order Status: In Production
Shipping Method: Next Business Day
Est. Ship Date: 8/22/2007
Est. Delivery Date: 8/23/2007

Ordered through EPP. Est. Ship date went from 7/29 to 8/23 right after I placed the order. Est ship date has not changed since I placed the order. Status has been in production for about a week or so.
It doesn't look like I'll receive the new laptop for another three plus weeks. Sad but true - no calling, complaining nor multiple postings on NBR will likely change the outcome. -
I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders...now its time to get a laptop and start working.
-
In stock at the Sony Stores?
-
That does include EPP but I hope that a few slip though the cracks
-
Call your local Sony Style store and ask...
-
FYI, I just called my Sony Style store and they don't have any orders open for the SZ6...
-
I know you can order on the website...just saw it. Japan actually has a few at the stores...and yes, the new SZ6s.
-
Bah. I'm gonna wait 6-9mos for my 1330. If i couldn't get my paws on it right away and am forced to wait insane long time and watch the tech go obsolete and offers swim on by I might as well suppress the gadget urge and wait til it is a more rational decision. I can get by in my life without this unit for a little while longer.
-
Congrats! Go Apple2PC!

Chronicle of a dearth foretold?

-

Let us know when you ship. I've been in boxing since last Friday.

Not to mention that now there's a separate order placed for a "Platinum Deluxe Notebook Case Fits Notebooks of Screen Sizes Up to 17-inch - Black Platinum"
I have no idea what this is, but they've charged my card $41.65 for it, and I certainly wouldn't order a 17" notebook case for a ultra-portable.
Reeeeeeeetarded. -
Really, where at on their site?
-
Are you being a smart ass? lol
-
Maybe ... maybe not.
-
And the re-order is black.
Look at it this way, the black cases seemed to be getting shipped more often than the other colors.
-
This just popped into my noggin. What if, and this is only hypothetical, Dell decided that in order to prevent people from canceling their orders because of the long wait time they update the status to boxing temporarily. It seems sense because there's a couple of reported cases of this happening, where people who made it to the boxing stage got shoved back to the build stage.
If this is true, then Dell has permanently done severe damage to its customer base.
Again, this is just a theory. -
@ Apple2PC: That is bad luck compounded.
-
We're going to reach 10,000 posts on this thread before a majority of the people who ordered the m1330 actually get it... thats sad.
-
rocketscientist Notebook Consultant
One post closer to 10,000. -
as of right now my order is in Build, with 2 days left until my est ship.
there is a sony style store i always go to where i know an employee. going to call him and see when they will have the new Sony SZ6's -
But only 1,000 on topic
-
Taylor made $500 off $2000 starts in 10 mins and you can use it to buy XPS models
-
Really...holy crap...how do I get that discount?
-
I never cursed at you just wanted you to stay on topic that's it. If you wanna discuss with someone on your lost then PM him or her. This is not a truck lost forum.
-
Amazon is taking orders and the Sony link was posted earlier.
The chassis looks a little cooler (sz660z to m1330) but its a lot more for less power.
Order both and return one. -
Sequence of events that might happen when you go:
Sony Employee: Welcome! How may I be of service?
You: I'd like to take a look at the SZ6.
Sony Employee: Sure! {walks you to the SZ6 demo laptop}
You: Awesome. Looks cool, got any in stock? {you prepare for disappointment}
Sony Employee: Let me check the inventory. {walks to a computer}
{30 seconds pass by}
Sony Employee: Yes, we have several right here in the store, waiting to be purchased.
{You stand there, unsure of how to respond}
Sony Employee: We can customize the laptop with many different options. Right now if you'd like, and you can watch as your laptop gets assembled.
{Your eyes open wide, in amazement of what is about to transpire}
You: I'LL TAKE IT!!! What options are available?
{The employee takes you to a computer hooked into the configuration wizard system}
{10 minutes later, you realize you have configured a machine that has exactly what you want}
You: How long will it take to assemble?
Sony Employee: With these options... {You begin to choke, thinking back to the horror Dell had you run through}
Sony Employee: An hour or so.
{Immediately you bring out your credit card}
Sony Employee: What color laptop sleeve do you want? It comes free with your order today.
{Shocked at the stunning turn of events, you spend 3 solid minutes contemplating the color}
You: Red... no, no GREEN. Yes, green. No... Midnight Blue! Yes that one!
Sony Employee: Alright, your credit card company approved of the purchase. Lets get to building your new laptop!
{1 hour, 4 minutes, and 31 seconds later...}
Sony Employee: Alright, its all set!
{Happy ending, credits begin to roll} -
I got a Taylor made coupon ! Woo Hooo
-
what a vivid imagination
-
Can you provide a link? I can't seem to find it in amazon nor Sony site. The only place I see SZ6 is their b2b site.
-
Sorry, but what does "on topic" mean? -
We're talking trucks not m1330's son...
Speaking of off topic... did ja hear the one about... -
or
Pre-Order for 8/1 shipping.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VGN-SZ66...9?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1185552472&sr=8-1
It's a race I wanna see what gets here first. -
The release date is 8/1.
-
That does not sound plausible... Dell would not downgrade EDU orders. EDU orders are the future of any Hi-Tech company. Where do you think the next IT employees are comming from.
Dell makes mistakes but not that one. -
HCW is just going off what he has been told. That said, I'm pretty sure HCW's source is full of it, 'cause EPP's orders are obviously being shipped at the same rate just as non-EPP ones..
-
Second that... or Flamenko was right
-
Thanks KIMO! +1 rep for ja. The pricing is really good. and no tax for me if I ordered from amazon! YAY!
-
Good luck!
-
The only thing I have more confident for Sony deliveries is because they have already shipped product with LED screen. The SZ4 is, and they probably would have better inventory of those screens, especially I don't see that they changed it in SZ6.
-
As much as I'd like to pretend there is, there's NO chance I'd take the SZ6 over the m1330. I've seen the SZ4 in stores...and it doesn't look that impressive. From what I understand, the SZ6 is the same, just with the SR update.
I'll just sit and wait before I spend 2200$ on a compromise. -
Got in on the Tailor made deal and made a second order for the same price $1600 which has the 160GB 7200RPM drive instead of the 120GB education order I have... since that one is still in pre-production, we'll see how much faster this one goes through the process... My original order placed 6/30 is still in pre-production for Aug. 22nd shipping.
My configuration T7300 (2GHz), 2GB, LED, RED, Bluetooth, Wireless N card, Sound Blaster Audigy, Dell Plus Package (3 year)...
$1600 is net of the $500 savings and does not include tax/shipping which came to another $148 or so. -
When I went to buy a SZ-4* series around Chinese New Year I found all the LED screen models out of stock. Only the base CCFL model was available.
That's how come I ended up waiting until the M1330 was announced.
So in short - Sony may have problems too... but as they sell retail they have probably bought already - and in fact they may be contribution to Dell's problem.
Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped
