Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped

Ordered today at a Dell Kiosk.
Ordered USA: July 9
Est Ship: Aug 24

The sales rep told me the only advantage was a $200 saving and my order placed at a Dell Kiosk cuts in front of all online orders placed that day. Turned out the saving were only $50 after all, and the cut in line still means my order was placed the same day as people who ordered the same day anyways.

 

I got a LED screen and the ETA is July 20th max, which is very strange as Dell gets more customers is the US than in Holland. You'd think they'll give priority to US customers but hence they don't..

You didn't get an upgrade to overnight shipping, did you? I recently read a thread about people who ordered a M1330 and got a shipping upgrade to overnight..

Just noticed, my order will be delivered by UPS.. I thought it'd be DHL because when I ordered my XP-Vista upgrade DHL delivered. Oh well.

 

i told the woman that i was going to be leaving for school before my laptop would arrive and that I would hate for my parents to have to pay extra to ship it to me.She said she would try and help me and ended up giving me free next day shipping

 

Who's receiving it first? I think i saw an 12th july estimated delivery date somewhere in the forums....

Nice 13" laptop that's out here in japan, cheaper, but I'll stick to the dell.

Site says 12 month no interest. Email said 3 months no interest. I searched the web and found lots of issues around Dell financing. No there is nothing wrong with my credit, but I'll wait for the reviews. 0 percent over 12 months is easy with the "wife acceptance" factor. 3 months is harder and plopping down $2500 is almost impossible.

Online does not give you a correct status. I was in production since ordering and only did I learn that I was pre-production when I called up a rep. The phone automation also has this flaw. Anyhow, I updated my initial post, called up and had my order pushed into production today! They also upgraded me to "overnight" but I don't think that will help the APO shipping. I asked them to annotate "USPS priority" as opposed to "USPS standard" to avoid the boat shipment to Japan. I check in a few days and hope.

Got the LED display. I sure hope this comes no later than 8/1/2007 because I'm leaving the country that night.

 

It depends what screen you are looking at. That page you took a screen shot of always says In Production. If you click on the "My Orders" link and goto your dell home page, it will probably still say "Pre Production." Mine says the same thing.

Hi, I too am waiting for my XPS M1330. I ordered mine on the 5th of July and got a estimated delivery date of the 31st of July. I just emailed Dell to see if they could shed some light on the hold up and this was the reply I got:

"The manufacturing of 1330s have
already started. The wait time is actually on the intel processor as we
were getting limilted supply. Also, we always test the systems before
delivering them to the customers. Since these are new machines, we do
some extra tests to make sure that they run at an optimum speed later
on. The estimated delivery date for this machine to reach your doorsteps
is 31st of July or BEFORE that."

I thought the date seemed like quite a wait, but judging by some peoples estimated dates I'm lucky

How did you get that deal? Coupons? Previously saved order? I have a ship date the day after yours and I ordered yesterday and paid $1894 with a 160gb hard drive and bluetooth, but I only got a 6 cell battery and 1 year base warranty. Dell University discount?

Just the 1330 with the T7300 is showing up at $1474 alone without the LED screen.

 

really don't know, I had a previous order that was $1508 without the upgrade of the 1.8 processor to 2.0, but the rep told me it had to be cancelled because it was placed through the Home Dept. I guess since I had been on the phone with her for over an hour about matching another order, which she couldn't do for some reason, even though she tried, she gave me a discount. Also, did you use the $100 off coupon?

 

Well, I just contacted dell again for a follow up. My account is flagged for "priority" shipment...I should have asked if it's through USPS, but at least that's looking good. I also confirmed I'm still in the "pre-production" phase.

 

It feels like EVERYONE is still in pre-production even tho the laptops are supposed to be shipped starting tomorrow. *sigh*

 

Yea...it doesn't sound like they'll start updating the shipping dates until they actually begin shipping tomorrow!

 

I ordered on 6/27 and it is estimated to ship 8/1 overnight so i should have it 8/2 problem is i am leaving 7/29 someone give me some words of hope and tell me ill at least get it before 7/29 or by 7/29

They called me a few hours ago ... just to repeat the order status to me. I was so confused... i was like "So..."?

He basically went over the fact that LED LCD's had a 10-15 day delay ... and asked if I had other questions. Was the most pointless phone call ever... (atleast for me).

 

You should have told him, please expedite my order!

 

LOL... I've done that so many times that I'm sick of saying it. They all tell me the same story... it's already been expedited but the order tracking system hasn't been updated yet. Its the same story since last FRIDAY! *sigh*

 

yeh... I think one of the reps told me that my shipping method will change once it is "in production" as opposed to pre-production. I'm supposed to get Next Day Delivery but it still says 3-5 Day Delivery on my status.

 

Mine changed when they changed it. Try giving them a call as ask to verify the shipping method.

 

Oh... interesting. I guess the pain will continue...

 

I did.... and I think they're sick of me. None of them had any explanation (unlike the one ckthepilot gave me) for the issue. They just said to wait 24-48 hours.

They must have a huge file on me by now ... lol.

No change for me yet.. hmmm August 27th.. so far away...

 

OK here is my status.... I ordered on June 27th, opted for the LED screen, confirmation email says July 29th and estimated ship date. In the last 2 weeks every time i log into dell it says "The system is undergoing routine maintenance. Please check back in a few minutes." under the recent order status. When i would call the 1800 number the automated system would tell me the same July 29th ship date + the 3-5 day shipping method and says the order is in PRE-PRODUCTION.
I just called dell 15 mins ago using the number one of you posted in this thread and spoke to a live rep. She verified that the estimated ship date was July 29th but that it would be shipped on or BEFORE this date "but most likely before this date". She also verified that my order status is now IN PRODUCTION. She also upgraded me to free over night shipping from my standard 3-5 day and added me to the email notify list which she says will contact me with an update on July 23rd IF my order has not shipped before then.
During the phone call i refreshed my dell account page and it went from saying "The system is undergoing routine maintenance. Please check back in a few minutes." to "No recent orders to display"

Hope this helps others I will check again later today to see if the ship date has changed.

 

the problem is that "in production" also includes pre-production. Stupid ... I know.
