Just checked the phone status, and mine went into testing this morning. Maybe it will make its Aug 1st ship date. (crosses fingers). (Ordered June 27th)

 

Moved to Testing!!

 

I really hope so...at least some people should make their ship date...even if it is before mine.

 

Another week, another call to Dell...
Now they say it's in production, but delayed due to a lack of processors. I ordered the T7300, which is a very common one, so I don't think that's the real reason.
It will take a week more at least to leave factory. I told them that I need a definitive ship date, because I'm going on holydays and I will not be at home.
Also I'm trying to get them to provide some compensation, everybody in this continent is in the same boat, but I'll try.

Ok the Black 1330's went into test this moerning. The white has been in build for a month......looks to be a hold up on colored cases

I have been in production since June 26. EST is tomorrow, it better ship or it is Sony time.

 

it seems depending on the country the waiting stage is called differently. Here in Germany pre-production -> nothing happens.

 

entered testing stage this morning. ordred 7/2. however still have a ship date of the 20th of august

Did you just ask for the bag, and the CSR said he can give you the coupon? Or did you ask for the coupon instead of the bag?

 

Finaly went to testing this morning. will be alot happier to see it go to goxing later today though....

oh, and on a side not I have asked 5 different reps ( 3 cust service reps, one sales rep i was transfered to and order modification rep i got transfered to and they have all refused to send me the free bag

Also, I think I'm still in pre-production... I'm never gonna get this thing before school starts. Which could be a problem.

 

Last I checked, mine was still "in production" which I guess is the catch all phrase for everything short of shipping. I have a call in to my CSR who is on vacation til Weds so I politely e-mailed his manager and asked her to call me back.

I'm reading the comments on the Direct2Dell blog and just read something about "certain configurations are an engineering no-go" to that effect. I wonder what that's about. I ordered the LED display... is that one of the hang ups.

Meanwhile, this morning I sit at my workstation with MacBook more or less configured to see what it's like to do an actual day's work on. Four of the five programs I work with simultaneously are in my Parallels XP Window (which has so far worked flawlessly). Only one (Word) is on the Mac side. Two of the four programs on the Windows side will have to stay there for now -- Eudora for eMail (Mac versions sucks) and OneNote (not yet part of Office Mac).

But I don't know if I'm ever going to get comfortable with the very sharp edge on this keyboard -- or needing to hold down two keys to delete, or home/end. The MacOS might be great, but it really doesn't matter if the machines it comes on suck.

my friends m1330, which i ordered for her on 7/1 is still in the build stage. she has an EDD of 8/17. she has the crisom red lid. maybe thats wats holding hers up

 

so is there any rumored next big ship date? i still have an esd of sept 5..but im sure it wont take a month to box...even though im coming up on 1 week of being in boxing

 

It seems like things are picking up in the production plants, so your order will come in much sooner than September. Then again, Dell has lied several times so far...

Well, one last check before bed for me, still in pre-production, phone is now giving me a 30 Aug date

 

my red one that I placed on the 28th status has never changed so I think that you may be on to something

 

Given that today you can purchase a m1330 on the dell site and get an esd of 9/3/07 with a red lid and 8400m and wled and t7300 and 160gb 7.2k and intel-n and bluetooth and all the other goodies and just yesterday they didnt give any esd at all, id say it is a safe guess to assume production is speeding up (you decide how fast you think it is speeding up - me with my 7/18 order and 9/6 esd think that its picking up alot and i think ill get my 1330 well before 9/6).

But still it works for me, it shows some progress on the matter outside of the US, even if its not Europe, yet.

We'll see, my rep has no news as well, so its further sit and wait for me.

Two things. Just got off a long call with CS and here's what I got out of it.

1. They added the free bag to my order. Will probably ship separately, but will eventually get here.
2. My order status is in production, but the rep said the notes on my order stated that is was in transit from Asia to the US,,, probably on a pallet on a plane and would be assigned a tracking number within 2-3 days. Apparently at this point order status will switch to shipped, even though it is technically in transit already.


These could be true or just more CSR lies...who knows. At least I got a free bag!

Is your shipping notification on the Order Status site or did you call Dell?

No update for me on the site (haven't called) and I ordered before you. Not fair.

I think it's a bad idea because I'm not as likely to look at the regular area of the forum and contribute there. Before they moved it, I'd automatically check other threads on the first page and contribute if I could. They may see less support being given to people using the regular Dell area now that this is moved.

Quite a few people are moving along, I went to Kitting from Build earlier this morning so let's hope for good things!

 

You might want to think about it as I was stuck in pre-production from 6/30 until 7/27 when I had the rep re-submit the order and remove the bag.

Not only did I also get the free Timbuk2 bag they are giving out to Home orders of the 1330 since I asked because they were removing the free nylon carrying case from my order, but my order when into Build status that day.

Checking this AM it's now in Testing, so in my eyes nixing that carrying case was the best thing I've done so far in contacting Dell as I made more progress in 1 and 1/2 business days than I did waiting almost a month doing nothing.

I'll update if my order goes into Boxing today as well.

 

Oh crap. I missed a phonecall this morning from 866-823-6977. Could that have been the call to say my Dell has been delayed? Also, i'm still in the build phase, though it ships tomorrow.

 

I have my tracking number now, its still in Nashville and should arrive Wednesday - Friday.
