Yes, HDMI IN GENERAL carries audio, which I think the manual is saying (rather misleadingly). However, I doubt it does on the M1330. Page 57 even says you have to connect a cable from the headphone jack to twin-RCA cables to get audio.

Well, it does generally carry audio, but for some of the laptop in the market, they don't. And I read the information from the Chinese version of the manual that the M1330's HDMI does carry audio, which is different form the description in the English manual...Weird

Bad news, a typhoon just sunk the ship carrying all the LCDs that Dell was planning on using for their 13 in laptops. Apparently, it's the same typhoon that's going to be hammering my house in a few hours.

No, just kidding, no sunken ships, but there's a typhoon just outside my house :)

BIOS integration is nearly impossible if u ask me... (i'm thinking technically too...) .... I think a hidden/unknown process is more reasonable and idealistic.

    Re: Lojack/Computrace in BIOS:
"The Company's Computrace software is embedded in the BIOS of computers by global leaders, including Dell..." from http://www.lojackforlaptops.com/pdf/L4L_PR_nov16_06.pdf
(a document which contains "forward looking statements"!)

That claim is regurgitated elsewhere online.

    See also http://www.absolute.com/partners/dell.asp
"Dell ships computers with Computrace embedded in the BIOS. The BIOS placement provides the highest level of computer theft recover, data protection and secure asset tracking because it allows the Computrace Agent to survive operating system re-installations, hard drive reformats and even hard drive replacements."

I have a hunch that the BIOS part might not contain the active agent itself but might re-install the agent in the case of a hard disk change.

I ordered mine today, and the preliminary ship date is 9/4. I figured that since I have to wait that long overnight shipping isn't going to do me much good. So, delivery date is 9/11.

I hope the build date is able to be pushed up.

    Ouch!

Cat 5 hurricanes are really not all that bad, when you make your buildings out of concrete. Why can't we do that back in the states, that would save the country billions in damage. Still waiting for the eye, any minute now.

    Ordered: 7/5
    Expected Ship Date: 8/27
    Expected Delivery Date: 8/28

I got every feature that would delay the ship date, apparently ... LED display, 8400M GS, fingerprint reader, 802.11n wireless ...

I called Dell to complain about the ship time, since I need the laptop before school starts, and 3-5 day shipping would go right into the first day of college (yeah, no good), so they upgraded me to free overnight shipping.

my status changed from pre production to in production today,
    order date 6/27
    est ship 7/29
    delivery 7/30
the shipping dates did not change... ohh well, I dont want to build up too much expectations, so as far as im concerned they just started building my laptop and still needs to test it and box it. I doubt im getting it any time soon.
