I know what expediting is.

Sorry. I am more used to Server OS.
I have Vista x64 running on my Desktop and it sees all 4GB. -
don't do it! lol. to be honest my config is almost the same. I would recommend you drop the 2gb of ram to just 1 and purchase 2gb on your own from newegg or pricegrabber, soooo much cheaper. I have the c2d 7300 2ghz, led screen with cam, 1gb ram, 120gb hdd, 8400 gs, finger reader, 6 cell batt, BT, 1 year warranty, for 1890 USD

Just wondering how my config price is to everyone elses...cheaper...more expensive...did i just get plain ripped? lol lemme know!

I don't get it? He got more RAM, larger battery and a 3 year warranty instead of 1 year. The only thing you got over his config is the faster CPU and he paid less. His deal's at least better than yours.
-
How did you get this? this is an awesome deal!
-
Exactly. The 3 year warranty in Canada costs alot. Like 299$ more. But I have an EPP discount that I get, but only if I get the more expensive warranty. It's pretty damned good warranty from the policy. No questions asked. But of course in practice warranties can be completely different.
I also don't think I got much of a deal. I haven't officially ordered yet. I want to see if I can squeeze a free 6 cell and maybe a CPU upgrade for the same price. Then it'll be a mild deal. But that's the price we pay for the brand new stuff. -
I hope you have better luck than me, when I ordered. They wouldn't do anything - I'm also eligible for an EPP, but as it turned out, the 15% mystery coupon was better than the max 12% for EPP.

O_Oholycrap so much. I'm considering about getting m1330...but then the price...
do you guys know of any discount for Canadians? -
http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/affiliates_notebooks?c=ca&cs=cadhs1&l=en&s=dhs
There's a $100 coupon right now. Otherwise, you can see if you are eligible for education or EPP discounts. That's about the extent of discounts right now. -
Well I don't think we have any educational discount in Canada...at least not in UBC I think.
How do you become eligible for EPP discounts?
oh and the $100 coupon doesn't work
I tried the EPP website and I randomly filled in the company info. It got through to the credit card payment page. So does that mean Dell doesn't really check if you are a "employee"? -
EPP Discount is available to certain companies as is educational discount. In most case the 100 coupon u see is actually not a savings but rather an upgrade; you end up losing because you buy online and lose the ability to barter add ons if thats what you hope to do..
-
Yeah, the educational discount only exists at some schools - UWaterloo for example doesn't have them with Dell.
I don't know if they double check EPP or not, but even if they don't, it's ethically wrong to use it if you're not eligible. (Your place of work must have a purchasing plan set up with Dell.) -
I didn't say it was a bad deal. Actually ge didn't really get a deal and neither did I =\. The point was though it is easier to upgrade ram down the line than it is your CPU, also dell (well pretty much every company) charges a much higher premium for ram upgrades than a cpu upgrade. Otherwise it's the same between us except he got the longer warranty

Checked both my systems this morning when I logged in and they both showed that they are now 'In Production" but....
when I then went to the colourful little screen with the arrows it still said they were in pre-production...
soo......
Is this a good thing yet?? Should I be excited or just feign being overly happy?? -
Well I went from pre-production to build this morning. I ordered two on 6/30, changed one order via phone 7/5 and the changed order is scheduled to ship sooner than the one I didn't change. Go figure.
All I know is, going from pre-production to build sure sounds better.
-
I ordered on 6/28 and I'm still in pre-production with a week to go for it to be delivered...argh.

I ordered my M1330 on July 4th, just went into PRODUCTION this morning too. Where is the colorful screen with arrows?
-
I'm really excited about the status change. I'm starting to feel like I may even see mine this month.
-
YES I'm in Production in the Build Stage as of this morning! Yay!
In the USA. Specs are as follows:
2.2 ghz processor
LED Screen
Nvidia 8400M GS card
200 gig 7200 RPM drive
Black casing
6 cell battery
Ordered 6/27, ship date 8/1. Looks like mine might be on its way early! -
How can you order from the future ?
-
yesss!!!! im in the build stage
ordered on jun 30, esitmated ship was Aug 22 or something
so that means they have all the parts to build it? so can i throw the Aug 22 ship date out the window?

wooooot i am in the build stage as well now. Hopefully this is the week.

Called up just to check that nothing was wrong with my order and found that nothing is. Dell has started canceling orders that have been in pre-production too long. Again, ordered morning of 26 June and still waiting. Also, I'm going to change the shipping over to my parent's address in the US and have them USPS priority it over here to Okinawa, That would cut off about 5 weeks of wait...whew.
Oh, and the rep said that Dell plans to start shipping US orders next week...heard this one before. -
Bleh. Fixed sorry. I got so excited I couldn't type or read, or not be a complete idiot
The good news is that it appears that the rumor that 7500 processors (2.2ghz) were getting canceled or delayed is incorrect. Only 7700 processors seem to be in jeopardy. -
FrontierDriver284 Notebook Evangelist
I think Dell changed everyone to "in production" so we'd quiet down about their delays
-
I really don't get how people ordering after I did are getting there order status changed this morning .
-
Haha. Mine still is saying 8/1 for the estimated ship date though. I wonder if it will take 2 weeks to build
-
I ordered 6/26 and as of this morning it changed from "pre-production" to "Build Stage" too. I am from TX.
T7300, LED, 160 GB(7200), 9 Cell. -
I'm still in pre-production. Oh, and there is a "expedited" or "priority build" option to get us over to production sooner. When I mentioned my deployment to the US rep who has the authority to handle my case that I'm due to be deployed in the beginning of Sept and the laptop arriving here in the middle of Sept, they said that I was in a bad position because they have been pushing a lot of complainers and the legit priorities over to priority bumping all the first orders back. They put me priority so I should go into build soon.
Crossing my fingers, hoping everything goes well. -
Ordered 6/27 and still in production with a ship date of 8/21 USA
-
For what it is worth...I'm in Build now and I've never spoken with a Dell rep in my life. I don't think the reps had the ability to actually bump people up in line anyway...just expedite their shipping.
-
Does anyone with Est. Ship Date at 8/23/2007 went into built already?...
-
Did you go through EPP? I'm thinking that EPP gets lower priority.
-
i went through university discounts and im in build
-
It really doesn't make sense the order that dell ships these out .
-
Well the one i orderd on the 26th is finally in production as of this morning. As for my Drake order, it is still in pre-production.
-
I got screwed
I guess it's not worth being the early bird. At least I'm not like my buddy who got the email that his order has been canceled due to exteded "lead time."
-
i also used university discounts and am now in build
-
my two orders, one with t7500 and another with t7700 went into build stage this morning. was wondering if anyone else that ordered a t7700 was in production?
-
I want my M1330 bad...
I was told that the company that Im buying it throo would get it out before September, but I have my doubts... (living in Norway) -

How could everyone suddenly go into build?
-
They have the parts to go into build now...I guess. Or the cache opened up for more.
-
I am also in he "Build" stage as of Monday July 16th. I checked last night and I was still pre-production, so it looks like they updated everyone this morning.
Remember they are never going to update your est ship date, that will stay the same. But once you are in the build stage the hard part is over. That means they have all the parts to make your system, and they have started to assemble it and test. So I can not see that taking more than 3-4 days? -
Looking back I actually ordered late on June 28th and got the confirmation email on June 30th.
-
I have an 8/23 ship date, and my status has not changed and is still in pre-production.
-
Great I am not alone
-
Update your sig! I hate this wait now, but at least I'm doing something to cut the wait time from March to mid August. I'm guessing if everything goes smoothly, it should get here on 7 Aug, I hope???
