WOOT!
that woulc kick assss
-
Yes it would!
-
hold your horses mine has been in the building stage and in-production since last monday or tuesday, with next day shipping, still havnt recieved
within 5 days is probably normally the case, but this is a brand new laptop so who knows

Depends on which page you use. Technically I got out of pre-production two weeks ago (according to the ordering page... that put me into "in-production") but the My Account page said I was in pre-production. I'm inclined to think that I got out of pre-production today though... and onto the Building phase (yay).
I hate HATE Dell US ordering system... its so confusing! -
I originally did the drake deal, called them up and changed the order on 7/5, given a ship date of 8/27, today still show In Production online, and Pre-Production on phone
-
I just added a fingerprint reader to my 1330 and the shipping date went from 8/15 to 9/17
-
I just checked and don't see any delays cause of the finger-print reader. Just beware, when you click NEXT after the finger-print option page, it goes to the next tab and updates the prelim shipping date.
It probably is the LED option that you selected that is making that ship date jump :-(. -
Thats because every change you make requires a cancellation and reorder on their part
-
No, no, no reorder, just the change in the order. I made sure of that. I wanted to upgrade the processor as well but they told me that they will have to cancel/reorder to do that, so I skipped that.
By the way, I don't have the LED screen so I don't see the reason for delay. -
Trust me...Ive had 6, count them, 6 cancelation in my initial order... Any change whatsoever means they have to cancel your order and reorder. Thats solely why your est delivery date changes. If it was just a change in the order unless it was something like the tuner (45 day wait), battery(1 day wait) and they could change it, there would be no date change.
I was told similarly on cancelation 3 and 4 that they were just effecting changes...found out different. -
That sucks! Did the price change for you? That would suck even more!! Also, I had complementary 1 day shipping for free, I am hoping that won't change either, otherwise I will have to call and ***** about that.
Also, did they send you an email after the change with the price and everything? I can't see the price in the order status and I can't add it to my account for some reason. -
They never sent me an email with change in prices and, in fact, I almost had to beg them for it after that.
If you sign in to your dell account, you can check recent order status and it will tell you all the cancellations and what.
And yes... My order changed 5 times.
I step very lightly when I talk to them because I got my order half price through Canadas Mystery Coupon event and I have read of at least one person here finding out that Dell cancelled their order because of such a long expected lead time; this without telling them.
They just received an email saying dell cancelled the order. -
I then called the order mod. department number and was told that they would do it, but it would put me back a "few" days. I asked how many and they said 14 days. LMAO ...
I said no... I'm too scared to change ANYTHING on my order. I'll just buy an extra battery later. -
I'm starting to get worried. I ordered the night of the 26th. T7300, 2G RAM, LCD w/camera, 8400M, fingerprint reader black case. I used the EPP, but not drake's, my school's legitimate one. Why the hell am I still in pre-prod?
-
-
You know, I have been expecting them to cancel my order ever since I ordered, so I won't be too upset. My experience with Dell has been frustrating to say the least, so if they cancel it, too bad! But I wouldn't mind at all if they don't cancel it

I'm on hold right now with customer service. -
you DID waste two weeks for nothing... worrying about some piece of equipment
I mean, just sit back, relax and enjoy yourself, and 1330 will come to you in due time
-
I'm moving at the end of the month so I'm worried... very worried.
-
-
I'm starting a new job at the end of this month so I am worried that it won't arrive in time and one of the requirements for the job is a laptop...doh! I had a MacBook Pro when I accepted the job but they suggested I sell the MBP and get a windows only laptop so I did and now I don't have crap...lol
-
.
-
Well I do have my wife's 17" Inspiron I could use but I don't want to have to lug that thing around.
-
I am in the same boat that you are ! I bet that they cancel these orders -
I am a little worried that everyone is in the build stage now.
Maybe they just moved everyone who complained at least once into build so we stop phoning them up.
-
By the way, we are also moving at the end of this month, I am going to call and change the shipping address for both the laptops tomorrow. -
-
Finally got off the phone with a rep. I didn't really get anywhere. She kept telling me that my order wasn't supposed to ship until the 31st, and I kept insisting that I knew when it was supposed to ship, but that I wanted to know why those with similar orders were already at the build stage when I'm in pre-prod. In the end she expedited my (I know that's just next day shipping) and promised that her manager would call me back soon.

-
I wasn't planning on changing it either but Dell customer service told me that after a certain point, you cannot change it at all. (and no, I don't mean "shipped" as that point). Pretty stupid, I think but still, don't want to take a chance.
-
Here is what could happen when you try and change something or a CSR gets confused...
05/07/2007 167XXXXXX Cancelled $1,xxx.xx
05/07/2007 167XXXXXX In Production $1,xxx.xx
05/07/2007 167XXXXXX In Production $1,xxx.xx
04/07/2007 167XXXXXX Cancelled $1,xxx.xx
04/07/2007 167XXXXXX Cancelled $1,xxx.xx
04/07/2007 167XXXXXX Cancelled $1,xxx.xx
04/07/2007 167XXXXXX Cancelled $1,xxx.xx
03/07/2007 167XXXXXX Cancelled $1,xxx.xx
Frustration!!! -
Overnight shipping doesn't do anything for you except it might give them a reason to cancel your order
-
-
-
that sucks... lol now both are in production....
-
He might not be from the US...
-
-
good thing we don't drive on the wrong side of the road in the wrong side of the car :/
-
LOL, let us not make this into an argument between U.S. and Canada.
-
I am from England originally, and the dates really are strange.
Why Month/Day/Year? Day/Month/Year makes more sense because it runs in order from smallest until to largest. I never did figure out why America did it like that. -
yeah, there's no argument... I mean, who cares about canucks and their stupid metric system?
-
-
lol shouldn't we all make peace and not fight about calendar dates and metric systems, since we're almost ALL owners of the m1330
-
Ok... #1000 post on the thread. lol
And BTW, I like year/month/day more... -
but 2nd of February, 1989 DOES make sense
Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped
