i wouldn't go as far as calling somebody else insane....
its just nice to know that i'm at least not alone with my frustration about the delay.
And i like the diversity of explanations why its happening.

Somebody should make a list which parts were made responsible already, think one of the few missing on that list will be the WiFI antenna assembly or so ;)

    How do you pause?

Oh sweet I added a "wait" and then just release when it stops ringing. Cell phones are cool.

On Wednesday I got the Tom Bihn "Buzz" bag for everyday use and the "Zephyr" for plane rides.

Still looking for a good sleeve.

This is the most informative thread ever!

We have learnt about programming, setting up speed dial on cell phones, the dell order status phone number, that women get faster service than men, that people with monkey in their name a cool, that it helps to set your posts per page above 10.... an soo much more.

We're 3 pages away from cracking 200 pages on this thread... that is a given, and will be hit tonight for sure.

A more on-topic question though is this: did anyone get the docking station with there order? Is a Dell docking station a one-size fits all deal?

This thread is slowing down tho... its a Friday night. I think i'm gonna go out too...

Docking station is a generic docking station (by Kensington -- SD100). There is no one specific docking station for the XPS m1330.

Lol, probably it'd slow down but from what I've seen, this thread usually sparks up a wildfire during the middle of the night.

It grew like 20 pages overnight :D.
But I guess we should find something else to do with our lives and go out on this lovely Friday night rather than checking our status order.

We should all be greatful that we're getting a good laptop in the end. My brother just told me his university is forcing him to buy a really sucky Toshiba with integrated graphics and 1 gig of RAM for $1400 (CAD), which is a complete rip off. Suddenly, I don't feel so bad off having to wait for my awesome laptop. :(

On that topic... I bought 64 bit XP Professional only to realize that they probably wont release drivers for that right away... oh well. I guess I can just buy 64 bit vista from my school as well. Anyone have any idea if they are going to use Vista or XP for 64-bit?

I do not think Dell should have released the notebook when parts are in such low supply. I notice on the Australian Dell site, that when each deal runs out, it says

"Pre-Order Now. Available for Shipment from 30/07/2007." two days ago it was "Pre-Order Now. Available for Shipment from 20/07/2007." And yet no one seems to have their XPS M1330 yet. Shipment was suppose to be from 9/07/2007, and now it seems 1 month later still nothing.

I am getting depressed with the delay in the notebook.

A simple question here as I haven't been keeping track of all the responses in this massive thread: Has anyone actually received their Dell XPS M1330? In which countries have XPS M1330 notebooks actually been shipped?

I was hoping that things would be clear on the US side. A lot of users on a Malaysian tech forum have been trying to determine what's holding up shipment of the XPS M1330 and there's talk of parts coming in late from the US. At least we've been able to express discontent with Dell's Customer Service, landing freebies in the process.

I've had less problems with 64 bit Vista than 64 bit XP, and less problems than 32 bit vista.

There have been uncomfortable exceptions, but by and large, the whole '64 bit sucks!' and 'vista sucks!' is entirely Your Mileage May Vary.

It's easier if one knows what they're doing.

Any thoughts about the absolute dead silence from reviewers between the initial launch and yesterday, when Dell say they started shipping? Makes me wonder if the media were embargoed. Also it's slightly worrying that any recent news is just rehashed first looks.

I know many people, like me, would cancel upon confirmation of this news.

I see no point in waiting until Xmas time to get this notebook since they announced it to be shipping recently.
I personally would rather cancel and order a different notebook, maybe a Latitude, Thinkpad or a Sony which-shall-not-be-named notebook instead. They would certainly not have the huge lead times like the m1330 had.

Less Stress = Happy Customer =D
