to be honest i'm with you there.
It is just a matter of time until all ordered units will be delivered.

If the anticipation wouldn't be so bad....

True dat, true dat. However there is a lot of things I want to do with it before September strolls around, where my schedule becomes super booked for the rest of the year:

    1. Format
    2. Create 2 Partitions (1 for Windows XP, 1 for Windows Vista)
    3. Install Windows XP (plus drivers)
    4. Install Windows Vista (plus drivers)
    5. Make Norton Ghost Images
    6. Install Software Development Stuff (Windows Vista Only)
    7. Install Games (Windows XP Only)
    8. Install Office 2K7 (Windows Vista and XP)
    9. Install iTunes (Windows Vista and XP)
    10. Install Zune (Windows Vista and XP)
    11. Make Norton Ghost Images
    12. Play

FYI: Some people were complaining that when you call the order status number the chick takes forever to say "Thanks" after you enter your order number. If you wanna make her check right away just hit "#" after your order number and she will go straight to your status and not pause.

:D I ditched the iTunes music store in favor of the Zune's music store mostly because the Zune marketplace has a subscription service that allows unlimited downloads of music for $15/month. Since I got it early this year I have downloaded 300+ songs. The Zune's screen is much bigger than any of the IPod's, and has a better battery too.

The 8400M GS should be significantly slower than the 7600. You're probably looking at Go 6600 performance or slightly better.

He says that everyday just so that one day he will be correct. :)

I predict that someday in the future, this year or some year after that, some or maybe no M1330 will have shipped.

Thats correct I have a friend who did that in Kentucky. They get the container from customs and break it up for delivery. She told me a funny story about PS3's at Christmas and why some of them took so long to get out of the container.

That said there will be a lot of deliveries next week. I'm certain Dell packed a whole container of computers (a process that will happen everyday of each week) not just a handfull of m1330's. Granted we won't know the mix of form factors/model numbers/printers/TV's etc, but I'm with blah.

I'm taking a 2 week intensive course at my university and my m1330 is due to be delivered the day the class ends. Sigh. My luck, figures. I really wanted to have it for the class, but I guess it will have to wait till fall semester. Oh well, plenty of time left in summer to tool around on it without worrying about classes :D (if it actually comes on time!)

And yeah, Sundays are for the loss.

:p Just for funzeez, I fired up the Dell wizard for configuring the m1330 and this time around it pegged the estimated shipping date at September 3rd. Also, several options have been removed from the config wizard, most notably the SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Express Card. Dell can't seem to make up their minds on what options and features to include, can they?

So you would give up one weekend day, just in hopes of getting this uber-awesome laptop? Not many kids (and us adults too) would want to work 6 days a week. :p  :D :eek2: :twitcy:

Edit: On 2nd thought, if we had 6 day weeks then we could spend maybe 6 hours at work instead of 8. More time in each day to do stuff, such as play WoW.

I'm new here but wanted to share my disapointment with Dell (at least in Canada).
I ordered my XPS M1330 on July 3 and it finally went in to production last week with an estimated delivery date of August 20th (or somewhere near there). Then I got a call today from the guy that I purchased it from at Dell Sales and he told me that they had to do an investigation on the Bluetooth component. Because of this, all orders containing Bluetooth (in Canada at least) had been cancelled and would have to be re-entered if the customer wanted the computer without Bluetooth. This means that I would have to go back to the beginning of the process over a $20 component and my estimated ship date would be in September sometime. Not ideal for someone starting school in early September. This is ridiculous!!! They should have just called me and asked if I wanted to proceed with the order without Bluetooth. Not sure if this will affect anyone else but I wanted to share my displeasure with the way that this was handled by Dell. Good luck everyone.
