this thread is generating a lot of traffic though.. it is in their best interest (sponsers) to keep it open.

just an FYI on thread stats:
we are about to overtake the sticky on number of views lol. -
Can the mods or staff make it so that more post show up on a page ? reloading the page I get 3 new pages of post. Grrrr
-
-
yep we are still waiting... this thread must enter Guinness World Records for the longest thread in the world
-
Go to your Control Panel, you can set the number of posts per page.
-
-
I'm surprised that thread hasn't made the forums come crashing down... -
-
-
Simply go to your User CP: http://forum.notebookreview.com/usercp.php
Then click on Edit Options, scroll down to Number of Posts to Show Per Page and set it to your pleasure. I set mine to 30 page per post. -

Arghhh... order status remains the same. I'm going to stop checking until Friday. Once Friday strolls around, I'll decide whether or not to cancel.

Wondering about the finger scanner:
Can it be used to log into windows or is it purely a password manager for the internet. If so woulod it work with applications like e-mail and the internet passwords, usernames etc?
Anyone got any info on that or do we have to wait and see? -
It can be used to log into Windows... and your computer (basically the BIOS has a fingerprint password mech).
... or so I hear. -
-
-
i would of gotten the finger reader if it could be used to protect the bios..because then if someone DID steal it..they couldnt just reload vista
-
-
I got the fingerprint reader because I thought it would be cool to have, plus may make Windows and Password accessing easier than trying to remember them all.

well the day i ordered (7/15), the ESD was 8/15, but by the time my student discount had gone through (15 min) the ESD was 8/31. The next day it was 9/6. Since Tuesday (8/17) it has been 9/20. Today the rep said 9/6, again.

No fish - orientation for law school.

i like this feature cuz it protects your document on windows and protect the hard drive not the bios passprint.

Here is a good read from a Dell rep back on the 20th of this month.

If you want to circumvent a "protection" will eventually succeed.
I ordered with fingerprint reader, just... i dunno.
It was 30euro or so and looked like fun, so to hell with it
Probably i find a good use for it (for example i ALWAYS mess up the different stages for password entry with my bank etc). -
i think
but not sure

-
Cloudhopper: Any luck with your free printer you were blagging? lol
-
-
Every few days I check Direct2Dell and type in M1330 to see if there is any progress.
