Have anyone of you noticed this too?

Its about "Dell 2.0" and the attempt to actually communicate with the customers.
A lot of companies do that and why not?
In times of internet its easier then ever to actually have a dialog with the customer, at least easier then by snailmail.
And if you think its a waste of time, than don't read it.
I don't read it myself, but i still like the attempt, its usually just not relevant to me. -
I like the way you think DirectGirl...
-
well...if so at least dell wouldnt have to worry about our laptops anymore...
-
has anyone been able to get the status on the number today at all because i have been trying throughout the day and nothing.
-
no - many people are having this problem. it doesn't even recognize my dell ID no. you can wait to talk to a customer rep, or you can wait till tomorrow. hopefully it will be back up then.
-
nope... i still cannot get on... i'm chatting with a rep right now
-
i swear there are no customer service people on the other end.... the talk and act just like robots.. so annoying

Another joke...or what? -
More BS posted by Dell workers -
I'd guess so.
-
*sigh* that joke has already been done.... fact is ... nobody on the internet has posted pictures of getting theirs
-
Ok I have my bluetooth mouse, and my turbo memory at home now. I ordered both on thursday.... now I just need my M1330
-
what bluetooth mouse did you order im in the market for one also as well as a good wireless n router.
-
ooo. they are going to expedite my order. stOOpid. I just started laughing.... you really start to see the csr's tactics after awhile just to get you to shut up and get off the line. not to mention the robotic responses.
-
wow codemonkeyx.... i just hit your site from google.... lol anything with m1330 delay in it is bound to get some serious hits... let me know how much your site traffic jumps over the next week.
-
Logitech V270 it's cheap and is a decent size.
I was thinking of getting a full size one but they nearly all use rechargeable batteries that require a power brick, or usb. I wanted a mouse that did not cost $90 was not the size of a babies hand, and used AA batteries. This one fit the bill.
Not great for gaming though I would imagine. -
I actually got the most hits so far from a post I did about getting the P965 motherboard drivers to work with Windows properly.
When that first came out a lot people were having trouble.
Cool I made the first page for "M1330 delay," who is that stupid Random Process guy anyway!!! LOL -
hey codemonkey one more thing where did you order your intel turbo memory and is this just a pci express card or what
-
can you just put an sd card in the reader and have it do the same thing?
-
Yer it might implode, but it will have to wait till it gets to "testing" 1st
-
I have not opened the box yet, I just know it is at my house. But you should be able to just plug it into the WWAN card slot in the bottom of the M1330. Which is a Mini-PCI X slot or something like that.
No. Turbo memory is a little different. Half the memory is used for Ready Drive and half is used for Ready Boost. I believe if you just stick an SD card in there it will only be used for Ready Boost. -
where did you order the turbo memory from?
-
Intel Turbo Memory installation picture for the m1330 for anyone who is wondering what it looks like or where to install it. -
I read some pretty bad things about it. How many of you people will be adding it in?
-
Did anybody here step up and by one of the SSD drives?
-
i'm going to get it.. there is no doubt in my mind that it will improve boot times and increase battery life. You can see that just by the differences between a harddrive and a flashdrive
-
Hello,
I've talked with the with some guys over our main Dell distributor in Romania and they told me it was only a motherboard problem ( when enabling the bluetooth module). Apparenly a BIOS workaround did't work as the problem was critical. After a motherboard reengineer, new tests were needed. They also told me there was no shortage of LED screen or other part.

calling in to get the order status is down for me again. how about you guys
( i know im getting a vostro not a 1330, but you guys are real active lol) -
no they are currently too small for my taste, i need as (among other things) as a file tank on phototrips, so 32GB is not enough.
When they reach a decent sizy i'll go for them, at the moment a hybrid has to be enough. -
If the new version of OSX was already out I might be tempted to go for a mac book.
-
where can I order this turbo memory from though thats my question I mean somewhere reliable like where codemonkey got his.
-
Interesting... would be interesting if it affects those with systems already shipped.
-
Yer, you might just fit vista on the ssd!!
-
Get it @ www.thenerds.net
-
I think its certified for Vista. M1330 doesn't come with anything else.
-
nope... can't get a status update
-
I guess there are certain times each day they update, and during those times it goes down??? -
i couldn't get mine off of there too.. and was forced to talk to another reject csr
-
I don't think so... I think they are having problems in general with the system.
-
-
Some one try the turbo memory and let us know if it's any good.
-
Cept the status # has been done all day.
I want to call and complain because if you order your system online today it gives a ship date of 9/2 and I ordered mine 7/13 and the online ship date is 9/6. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to waste on hold. Oh well, at least I have 50 more days to go
-
I went through Amazon.com. One of the associate sellers called Computer Brain. I ordered mid last week and got it today, so pretty snippy shipping. Cost about $30 + shipping. If I have any damage or wrong parts I will post later today when I get home about it.
Great picture I will use that when I get my M1330
The technology is fine, just the drivers from Intel are still immature. That will improve with time, and seeing as the install is so easy it's not a big deal to remove it or disable it if stability becomes a problem.
The only poor benchmark I have seen so far with Turbo memory is decreased write speeds. But we do a lot more reading from the drive then we do writing too so I do mind that.
I will probably post a review of the Turbo Memory on my blog after I get my machine. Just talking about boot times and what not. -
nah i got through a few times today, it was down for a while though.
-
"In our Santa Rosa preview we found that Turbo Memory did very little in fact. Performance didn't improve (in some cases it got worse), we couldn't find any measurable reduction in power consumption and in the end we found absolutely no use for the technology. Notebook makers echoed our sentiments, with both HP and Sony declining to use Intel's Turbo Memory in their Santa Rosa lineups, but Intel insisted that there was an upside to the technology."
-
yea.. i guess i can risk the $35.
-
Well I'm still getting transferred to a "live" person every time I call. The real question is whether I will still be alive when I get to talk to the "live" person.
-
Thats why Sony is incorperating both SSD and HD's into the new TZ's;
http://www.engadget.com/2007/05/17/sony-vaio-t-sports-32gb-ssd-and-160gb-disk-the-best-of-both-w/
Too bad the screen is so small... if the m1330 is vaporware that is my next chioce.
PS I just got in no change. -
If you read the updated review they retract the performance numbers, because they had driver problems when benchmarking. Basically Turbo Memory was turned on for all benchmarks so the differences were minimal between tests.
In the newer review they say the performance benefits are better.
Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped
