no they are just fine and they are all made by the same company if you look at them they are the same Creative just buys the ones they dont want and sells them for cheap i have looked at them for headphones but decided on some imports called crossroads... So they are they same as we get shiped they are just branded diffrently

 

flamenko I disagree with that. I don't see why we can't have 2 threads cause alot of people do not want to shift though the idol chit chat to find up to date info on what's going on . On my weather site we have an idol chat thread with predictions about the storm and then we have a thread with graphics and up to date info. It has worked very well for my site .

That is how I felt with his post, like this thread was all wrong and his was the right one. I would bet to believe a number of others got that as well.

TBH I'm ready to only believe that Dell has shipped my laptop when it's left the delivery guy's hands and been placed in mine
Although having said that, I've had no problems with them yet, they've been very good in terms of customer service. I'm just very pessimistic!

(However, the very second they mess me about, or they tell me there's a delay within 2 days of my 31/7 EDD, I'll be joining all the critics in here!)

No one cares? There are some in this thread and mine who DO agree w/me. This thread is just fricking out of control (and you "contributed" 3 useless posts to my thread). It took me awhile yesterday just to sift thru this thread to find pictures of the M1330. I eventually gave up and had to use "Search this thread". Even then, I had to sift thru tons of posts.

Some of us are pretty busy people. I didn't arrive home from work last night until ~11:30 pm. With matters that I had to attend to, it doesn't leave me much time to go through all this crap.

The signal to noise ratio of this thread is EXTREMELY poor IMHO. I think the mods should just lock this thread and people should start threads on specific topics/issues of the M1330 in separate threads (headphones, sleeves, 9 cell batt, coupons, etc.)

I start to get confusing results (website states "pre-production" the sales rep says his system says "production"), so the messy information has finally arrived in europe, hurray.

Why hurray? Yeah well shortly after the messy informations in the US they started to see deliveries, if thats the price i'm willing ot pay it.

This thread has gone off topic because there is nearly nothing new to report. Some people got their systems, other don't, we do not know why things are back ordered.

So a new thread is pretty useless really, just because noone knows anything. And you will just get hundreds of posts saying "I ordered this date, and my ESD is this."

The reason this thread is so big is because we (well me atleast) are trying not to litter the main forum with hundreds of separate threads about things noone knows yet. So we keep the discussion here. When we find something concrete then that will be a good time to branch off with new threads.

BTW If someone has not done so already it might be nice to post a new thread with the un-boxing pictures of the two lucky winners.

Once everyone starts getting their systems we can start a new thread about using the thing. Then we can actually discuss things we know about.

No, increased RAM shouldnt increase you battery life.

I myself am dying to find out the battery improvement with my new m1330 and its SSD drive. Im just trying to imagine the reduction of all that HD spinning and heat and whatnot.

It won't help battery life... a 1GB stick will take the same power as a 2GB stick. A 4GB stick will also be the same power consumption. now, if you have 1x4GB stick, that will reduce power needed to the RAM by half, right? is this logically correct?

 

Hmmmm.... SSD is still too expensive for me though. Oh well.... maybe in a few years.

Oh and to stay on post...yes the SSD drive is normally expensive, but the deals can make up for it.

You would think that they would reduced the price of the HD they are not giving you towards the SD Drive.

Their SD drive price and 4gb ram prices are incredible.

An actual question about the 1330 and the 8400M GS. I am upgrading from a reliable ol' Inspiron 8500 w/an ATI Mobility 9000. It has served me very well for 4 (!) years of flawless service.

Anyway, I want to play Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and NWN2 and stuff like that. No problem with the 1330, 2 gigs, + 8400M GS, right? How about with an external monitor on higher res, say a 20" or 22" screen through the HDMI port. I think, for these types of games, no problem, right?

I play nothing like Fear or any of the hyper-speed shoot 'em games. Mostly roll-playing and the like.

I only have a guess for what might happen. As long as the resolution is not too high on the external monitors, then the HDMI should work out fine.

A more sure-answer (though still a guess) is that the HDMI will output the same rez as that of the screen on the laptop.

If you didn't notice, no one got 1330 (except a couple of ppl)... so no one can tell you for sure how well 1330 will handle those games
