Kum -by -ya.... Kum -by -ya
Geez. I was trying to post this and the net went down at my work and then it posted after 20 post later.
-
Are you on hold with Dell?
-
in build now for over a week
-
That's nothing. Try exactly 2 weeks. I have been in Build since the 11th. I have a ship dat of July 30 and its not looking too good.
-
Even if it wouldn't be for the price, its still too small.
32GB is nothing for an operating system that has 40GB HDD recommended. I mean thats 8GB short of what microsoft would like to see and you are then supposed to install applications on it.
If it would have been an additional drive i would have gone for it without ever thinking about it, even for that money. but as the standalone drive for the entire notebook?
No way. -
Build doesn't mean that your order is actually in Build stage. In fact, it could very well still be in Pre-Production.
They just set the Build to everyone so people could stop bickering about Pre-Production stage.
About battery Life, anyone knows a retailer that has Hybrid Hard Drives for sale? I heard it should improve battery life. If it does by a decent amount, I'd consider getting one. It's significantly cheaper than SSD and it contains higher capacity for storage. -
newegg got those, samsung-branded, IIRC.
-
tl;dr, do they win?
-
I wonder if the next "thing" will be to move everyone to "testing"....
"testing our patience" maybe... -
One might wonder why I'm still lurking around in this thread even though I've abandoned getting the m1330...
Reason is that my brother ordered his m1330 a week earlier than I did and is still hoping to have it ship by the ESD of August 8th. I'm excited that the house will see two new additions to the home network. -
Thanks for the link.
I'll check this article out. I'm sure it'll provide me with further insight upon it. -
you already explained that a few pages back  no need to be like cwerdna and repeat urself all the time
-
I have been in build since my order was placed. The only thing that matters is when it ships. With past orders testing and boxing usually take place the same day and most times you never know it.
The interesting item will be when all of the people that placed their orders on the first day 6/26 and were given order dates of 7/26 to 8/1 depending on their configuration DO NOT get delivered. The last time I was thru Dell HELL they told me the day after it was due to ship that it would slip a week , and then one week later it slipped another week etc.. We will see what the NEW Dell does (Michael are you listening). -
im 99.9% sure that the HDMI output will not be limited to the output of the resolution. The video card is capable of going up alot higher. If my old ati 64mb x300 can push 1920x1080 to my tv...then this should be able to do it also and much easier
-
glad to see you didn't drown... or not  jokin!
-
it is midweek and direct2dell has no m1330 update. bassem88 is displeased with this turn of events.
-
wuts the dell blog thing that i heard about earlier in the thread?
-
LOL, oops... oh well. I'm still excited for it though.
-
It depends on what the Direct2Dell blog site defines as mid-week. Thursday is the dead center of any week, with three other days equally spread across either side of it.
-
unless you're going by business days! and dell is somewhat almost like a business
-
The direct 2 Dell blog site doesn't have one thing thats true on it .
-
Plus even if we talk about a full week, sunday could be taken as the first day...
-
There might be slight improvements in battery life in a convoluted sort of way...
more memory... less virtual memory (on the hard drive),.. and less paging from hard drive.. therefore less use of hard drive... more battery life??
no?
-
I'll show him risk tolerance real good >:O -
Well I guess that would depend if Dell were jewish or christian. The head quarters are in Texas, in the bible belt, so yeah Sunday sounds about right.
-
but its also dell, and they are godless heathens
-
I wish I had ordered my M1330 the day it came out
-
What topic?
Oh no you didn't! -
That doesn't mean that you would have your computer yet
-
LOL.. thank g-d you didn't repeat the topic... its burried. .. lets not talk about it.
Yes I did... -
It would mean I would have it sooner ... people who customized the same way I did have already shipped out and received their laptops, and people who ordered just a few days before me have estimated shipping dates that are two or three weeks before mine
As we all know, Dell can only get a limited number of LED screens, as it's the primary cause of the delays, and it gets more and more exponentially backlogged. -
i wish i did too, that way i would of gotten in on the drake deal =/
-
Dell shipping you your computer is based on alot more than the day you ordered it .
It's based on the price you paid and how many discounts you used also. -
There are Kosher Dills ... I don't see why there couldn't be Kosher Dells.
-
how much of a difference would it make in receiving your computer faster?
-
Trust me, at the way it's looking....it doesn't matter. I did so and it has been in build forever.
-
And if you believe that, you'll believe anything...
-
It's the truth ... Watch people that ordered with educational discounts will be the last to get there laptops. I don't play around with peon Dell reps and only deal with Corporate reps in round rock . -
lol, "As supplies last."
-
buy a MBP...play with it till M1330 is delivered...then return the MBP...or the M1330
-
blah, are you in testing stage?
-
? what in the world
-
You are the devil's cousin... no...
-
It will increase your battery life in certain situations. For example if you have too little ram (512 - 1gbish) you will have to use a page file which means the hard drive is being accessed more often and more battery is consumed. I doubt you would see much of a difference in battery life between 2gb and 4gb though although I'm not an expert.
-
building here. gonna check again in about 15minutes. then 15minutes after. I have it programmed into my phone. speed dial 1.
-
LOL, who did it bump off of your fav-5?
-
wait, I'm YOUR cousin... so you are the DEVIL?
-
Well, I didn't see that option when I ordered.
-
I think you had to have a Rabbi present for the option to show up...
Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped
