sheesh, i sign off for 3 hours only to come back with like 150 new posts... guess i shouldn't be complainin anyway, as thats the nature of this thread.
anyhow, it seems things are rolling shipment-wise again, eh? groovy. how many got status updates today?
-
I had to laugh earlier because i got thinking about DirectGirls rendition of her laptop colour (pearl white casing) which made me laugh my butt off. So I had to think of a name for the red and I did!!!!
'fire down below' lol -
oh I get it, that sounds plausible. A+, what are you some kind of business major?
-
why do you have 3 systems coming lol!?
were you able to duplicate one of them
-
because flamenko's giving me one. for free. in my dreams.
j/k
-
One is a replacement for my m1210 Squealer...
One is my baby...its red.
and the other just came to be through all this... I couldnt say no when it came into being.
PS My son has cut the grass, taken the garbage out, cooked me dinner and cleaned the dog stuff up since learning of this system...
Gotta love kids and their directed ambition. -
why is pearl white casing funny??
-
yeah but if thats the case then why did they wait 10 days to ship it?
-
I agree with Flamenko...
We're gonna see alot of machines delivered in the next 3 weeks.
If you got your CD I would look for a big whit box too... they sare suppoed to ship seperately but wy waste the $$$.
This whole thing has hurt Dell a great deal... they have given alot of discounts, upgrades etc. They have probably had to staff up to handel all the calls to humans and the auromated Dolly Dell.
Is it thier fault... of course... should we blame them?
Thats a personal choice. -
moving again... very slowly... nevertheless, its progress.
-
i'm losing hope , i've been in build stage for 13 days...
-
I have no idea... but its a separate CD for sure.
-
And you will most likely be there another 16 days.
-
I think as far as possible the parts are sourced locally to the factories. This helps just-in-time (Hah!) production and reduces transport and customs costs.
As far as I can tell Canada and the US are going to get their M1330s from Malaysia. Perhaps initially the EU is getting them from the Malaysian plant as well but perhaps later they will also produce them in Ireland (that might explain EU complaints about prices being higher than the US - though also VAT (sales tax) may explain that).
I suspect that my M1330 will be built in Xiamen.
However, there is probably a big shell game going on between the different manufacturing plants. The WLED displays may come from only one supplier (perhaps in Taiwan). With the US managers shouting and the easier shipment (empty 747s flying from Taiwan to Malaysia?) they may have all gone to the Malaysian factory and that could be why my machine is not delivered yet and the WLED display is no longer an option in China. -
100% agreement its a cd just wondering why a split shipment and if it was litmus. (fingers crossed)
-
on a side note, does anyone know anything about chapter 11 of the nafta?
-
Hahaha... hey, I'd do it too. Be a good dad and treat your kid.
-
NAFTA.... I don't think I've heard that since highschool.
-
I don't post much, 'cause really I am just an opossum snuffling through the leaves for grubs, but
but
I am beginning to feel brotherly love for you, my fellow tortured souls
revenants returning to the board to hear the sad tales of others like you and me -
I order my system yesterday, how long do you guys thing I'll have to wait before it's completely finished the built stage? do you think I'll make it for early august shipment?
-
... thats a bit scary. As long as you don't attempt to make-out with me, I'm okay.
-
why is blah turning everything into a sexual thing, huh?
-
It varies... we're not sure what is going on for sure yet. I ordered July 1st (almost a month ago) and I've been in the BUILD stage since the 16th? (oh just look at my sig).
-
it's a stupid thing on proposed modifications of foreign investments.....
ps: im in university -
Highly unlikely if you only ordered it yesterday. I ordered on the 4th and I'm hoping to get in on this shipment.
-
Hey hey... atleast I'm not the devil's cousin.
-
NAFTA? That's the North American Free Trade Agreement...
-
LOL... we learned it for AP History... but I took US History II in college and never discussed about that.
-
well, blah, you know it better than anyone, 'cause you are my only cousin
-
thanks! i now have enough info to write my repor...
sorry if that sounds sarcastic, i dont mean to be rude -
oh my g-d... I suck @ come-backs..
-
Give it a try! BTW, did you check ur status lately?
-
Haha, I'm surprised you Americans don't know about it... I mean you're like... the only other country in this agreement along with us, Canadians.
-
I wouldn't waist my time checking
-
no need for a comeback there are no hard feelings
-
actually mexico too....
-
he was talking me I think... although, it I might be wrong... blah?
-
Isn't China part of NAFTA?
-
so, so far building stage may take up to 10-20 business days, testing stage - maybe 1 business day, boxing - up to 5 business days, and shipping - whatever you got... Am I about right? I thinking about ordering now, that Dell seem to be ramping up the production, and trying to get a realistic estimate
-
LOL
-
well one must ask himself : is china part of north america? - i don't think so
well theoretically at least. -
The North American Free Trade Agreement is the trade bloc in North America created by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and its two supplements, the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC) and The North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation (NAALC), whose members are Canada, Mexico and the United States. It came into effect on 1 January 1994
-
China is part of WTO
-
Enthusiasm stage -> Frustration stage-> WTF stage -> NBR forum Obsession stage -> Que Sera Sera stage -
hahaha brilliant! it's exactly how i feel
-
yeah... sorry for the confusion!
-
Yeah, but it goes in cycles - first cycle while you are in pre-production, second - while in build, and third while you are in testing/boxing... although I'm not sure if the last stage is long enough for the full cycle
-
Blah, when was the last time you've checked your status on the phone?
-
Ah, the WTO, that's what I was thinking of!
-
