I had to laugh earlier because i got thinking about DirectGirls rendition of her laptop colour (pearl white casing) which made me laugh my butt off. So I had to think of a name for the red and I did!!!!

One is my baby...its red.
and the other just came to be through all this... I couldnt say no when it came into being.
PS My son has cut the grass, taken the garbage out, cooked me dinner and cleaned the dog stuff up since learning of this system...
Gotta love kids and their directed ambition. -
-
yeah but if thats the case then why did they wait 10 days to ship it?
-
I agree with Flamenko...
We're gonna see alot of machines delivered in the next 3 weeks.
If you got your CD I would look for a big whit box too... they sare suppoed to ship seperately but wy waste the $$$.
This whole thing has hurt Dell a great deal... they have given alot of discounts, upgrades etc. They have probably had to staff up to handel all the calls to humans and the auromated Dolly Dell.
Is it thier fault... of course... should we blame them?
Thats a personal choice. -
-
i'm losing hope , i've been in build stage for 13 days...
-
-
And you will most likely be there another 16 days.

I think as far as possible the parts are sourced locally to the factories. This helps just-in-time (Hah!) production and reduces transport and customs costs.
As far as I can tell Canada and the US are going to get their M1330s from Malaysia. Perhaps initially the EU is getting them from the Malaysian plant as well but perhaps later they will also produce them in Ireland (that might explain EU complaints about prices being higher than the US - though also VAT (sales tax) may explain that).
I suspect that my M1330 will be built in Xiamen.
However, there is probably a big shell game going on between the different manufacturing plants. The WLED displays may come from only one supplier (perhaps in Taiwan). With the US managers shouting and the easier shipment (empty 747s flying from Taiwan to Malaysia?) they may have all gone to the Malaysian factory and that could be why my machine is not delivered yet and the WLED display is no longer an option in China. -
100% agreement its a cd just wondering why a split shipment and if it was litmus. (fingers crossed)

Isn't China part of NAFTA?
-
so, so far building stage may take up to 10-20 business days, testing stage - maybe 1 business day, boxing - up to 5 business days, and shipping - whatever you got... Am I about right? I thinking about ordering now, that Dell seem to be ramping up the production, and trying to get a realistic estimate
-
LOL
-
well theoretically at least. -
The North American Free Trade Agreement is the trade bloc in North America created by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and its two supplements, the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC) and The North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation (NAALC), whose members are Canada, Mexico and the United States. It came into effect on 1 January 1994
