this is very strange becuase the only two people that got them so far both have fingerprint readers maybe they only had to fingerprint readers over at dell.

 

Unless you are talking with Corporate people then ignore anything dell reps tell you cause they do not have a clue at what's going on

... from the US perspective, it looks like the BUILD = includes pre-production ... which is stupid.

 

you know what I remember someone saying once that if we put together all the parts dell reps say to have a shortage of then that would mean there are actually no parts available at all. Anyway whats next they are going to tell us there is a shortage of shipping boxes or a shortage of the color black or crimson red or white. I am tired of these sorry excuses for their terrible way of doing business.

 

Well this is all the info they give me on the order status:

 

they're just trying to buy time. its not like can actually do anything except get mad and complain.

yeah thats true at least my est. ship date is 8/1 with overnight so hopefully should definitely have it by next week. Then again you never know all I know is that if by next monday or tuesday it doesnt change to testing I think I will start to really get scared and if they miss my est. ship date I think I will move on to the sony SZ6 series.

 

You prob is still in pre-production .

 

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I love my sales rep (Rein). I expressed to her my concerns about the status of my current order and getting it in time before school started last week, and this week she called me back and told me that my order will be ready to ship in 4 days! She also upgraded my delivery to overnight! I thought it was funny about all the reported shortages so I'll add what she told me: there was a current shortage on the hinges and the LCD screens. With all the people who ordered in June not moving past pre-production (not sure if this is still true today though for the U.S. people- who cares about the other countries ), I was a bit skeptical but after checking my status on the automated system, I found out I'm now in the testing stage!

 

poor soul, doesn't know whats coming to him, or her, or whatever.

Whaaaaa... congrats. Too bad it doesn't look like I'll be getting my laptop until after I move next week (to a different state). :-(... I wish I ad a sales rep like her.

Congratz by the way... It seems that Black is the color of the day... I really regretted for ordering a red lid.

 

Ive only been waiting since 6/27 no big deal if you all want to cut in line go right ahead its not like ive been waiting for like ever now.

So, I don't understand how some of the people who ordered laptops first are still in pre-production. I ordered mine on 7-13 and it went in production quickly? Did this have something to do with the order system having issues?

Your best guess is our best guess, but it looks like those who ordered in June are slowly going into BUILD (finally).

 

Unless you ordered it in June you have no right to complain and should calm down open a cold one and sit back and watch the madness
