I'm at the point that all I can do is wait. There's no compensation that I could think of without extending my order even longer, unless they ship an upgrade to vista ultimate or ship a 4 gig memory upgrade...I can always hope, but impractical.

a few days ago they said that there was to be 10 to 14 days before we saw the computers go into mass production and untill then we would see the trickle effect.

Your order date has very little to do with when you will get your computer . It also depends on what section you bought it from and what discounts you used.


Normal Dell reps do not have any valid info and can not speed up your order and if you piss them off you will get an email from the same rep that says that they have taken ownership of your issue.

If you aren't in a hurry, yes. Longer lasting. Better colors. More battery life. Less weight.

 

I understand how it can be a contrast in colors and yes I'd agree if you were talking about clothes. But with laptops the reason why people praise apple so much is cause they have good design. Their colors are concurrent. If Dell placed a metalic light silver (close to the white shade) and a white body that would've looked much more elegant than a white pearl nice lid and suddenly a drastic change it body color. This also allows them to not "copy mac" if that's how you put it.

This is what I mean by design.

I find it ironic why dell would create a rigged system and then giving us something that's a bit thicker? If they're able to create this rigged system then most likely this proves that they can put this in mass production. Why would they do something like that?

How so? You said EPP orders would be handled last, and yet my EPP order has gone into testing as of yesterday (although it is weird that I haven't moved out of it yet since most people are only in testing for a few hours and mine has been there overnight and is still at that stage as of 5 minutes ago)
