... still in the BUILD stage.
-
-
Sorry to hear that....
-
what about $150 you paid for LED?
-
I guess???? Its only a 1/4" thick!
-
yikes! i haven't had a bit of trouble with mine... (yet...? :-/)
-
Yes they are replacing mine with a M1330 free. This forum describes the problems many have experienced:

I posted early this morning (ca. 2am) that my order had gone in to testing. I checked this morning and now I'm in BOXING. woop woop. My M1330 is also a black one, with LED, bluetooth, 8400m gs, t7300, 2gb ram, 120gb hdd. I hope this ships soon.
-
After looking and comparing all the pics, I'm pretty confident that Titleman does have an LED. It's unfortunate that both of the delivered m1330's must be shipped back for replacements.
-
Can you look under device manager and tell us what it says ? -
did you have a fingerprint reader?
-
another black one! wow that makes what...4, or 5 now?
-
Well, in Tileman's case he is getting a visit from a Dell tech to replace the screen, and Cliegal is getting an advance replacement...
-
Great, so the makers of the CCFL and WLED are slugging it out for the position of cheapest supplier, according to what has been said on Cliegal's screen thread.
-
For those still waiting, please continue to express your dissatisfaction at http://direct2dell.com/!!! (and email places ... like cNet if you have time)
I am...
-
That's the only thing keeping me SANE.
-
Not me. =/ What happened to the red that was reported shipped?
-
interesting read, thank you. posters there have indicated the problem only occurs under vista, which i wiped off upon receiving the m1210. hopefully i don't run into it... (fingers crossed)
-
I would if i could get it to boot up and im not playing. I keep getting a black screen with a white blinking cursor in the top left hand of the screen. I think i got a LEMON!
-
how the heck did you get such a crappy ship date?! even if you order now..with your specs its 9/6
-
Oh yea... I think one red shipped. It's buried in here somewhere...
-
that sucks, dude... first stuck pixel, now it won't boot?
-
Yikes. THat doesnt sound good. Problems so soon.
-
So I will be receiving a new laptop with the correct, LED screen as an exchange. The wonderful XPS customer service rep handled everything well. This was a first for them and they're making sure they get it right. The catch is that the LED's are on backorder so he couldn't promise me a specific date.
Meanwhile, I can use the system I have as I for what I need so I don't mind the wait at all.
The customer service and handling of this gets an A+. The sales rep I ordered from gets an F. -
blah, go fetch it  sorry, couldn't resist
-
What was wrong with yours again? Dead pixels? Its hard to try to track down the post you made about what went wrong...
-
Well that's good to hear at least. So will you ship the CCFL one out once you receive the correct one?
dbam987, her m1330 came with a CCFL rather than the LED he ordered. -
That sucks. Glad it worked out with CS though.
-
HER 1330
-
My mistake.
-
Wow... that really sucks. Looks like that they rushed that one out of testing a bit too quickly.
-
i seriously doubt that in testing they would care about a single stuck pixel (even if anyone has noticed that). As for the no-boot issue, it also might have been a hard thing to discover during testing, too many things might have gone wrong to cause that, and some - after it was shipped (ie rough handling by the shipper)
-
Mine is still in the Build stage. Called and talked to a rep, mine will be delayed....won't know the new EDD till this saturday. Delay is because of the LED display, talked to another rep right after and they said the palm rest is the reason. Basically i'm seeing this delay for some reason that dell reps cannot agree on.
-
Ya the shipper prob saw that it was a M1330 and he has been waiting for his. Further with all his cancellations and what not he prob used it as a football for abit.
Or maybe hes an Apple lover -
Well the Dell rep says 9/6 when I check, but the phone says 9/20. =( I am still in Pre-production too. I error on the pessimistic side to avoid further angst.
Tileman - that sucks! Tell us more. So it was good for two days and third day it died? Maybe the M1330 is the Anti-Christ of laptops. ;-) JK -
Finally got it booted. Went to device manager and don't see any thing on what my screen may be.
-
True... if it was delivered through DHL
. It also could be HD corruption (or even BIOS firmware problems). Those things should not pass through testing!! Unfortunately, our best guess is a crap shoot... of course, we could easily diagnose it if tileman gave us the laptop
. J/k
-
run the diagnostic tool from boot. Check the harddrive. Or maybe Vista just killed itself after getting depressed reading all those problems with the M1330??
-
Kinda hard to throw around a 10-pound box  although someone might have tackled the UPS guy carrying Tileman's 1330
Maybe it was Tileman, too excited to see his 1330?
-
Could have simply been a loose RAM chip...
-
look under monitor, hardware id
-
When did you order again?
-
or bad contacts on the RAM chip
-
Oh good! =) Crisis averted. For now...
-
or just a bad chip...
-
... and that would be REALLY unacceptable. I always test my RAM when I get my RAM chips using various testing proggies I have.
-
have a look at this and compare your screen width with your usb port (measurement of the screen thickness is taken near the hinge)
-
I just entered boxing stage this morning. I ordered on July 6th, and have an edd of 23 August. Sooooo am I going to be getting my computer in the next few days? Hope so, I am close to canceling.
-
If you have next day shipping, you should get it around Tues or Wed. Congrats. I ordered 7/1 and still stuck in BUILD.
-
Ordered 6/26....
