all i can find is Generic PnP Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce8400m GS
-
uggg ordered 6/29 stuck in build... black and epp....
-
Same thing mine says.
-
ok, so you go into properties for that monitor, click on details tab and select hardware ids from the drop-down list.
-
did you see my picture tileman?
-
I called Dell and raised absolute hell Monday. Coincidence? I think not! (I have order 3 XPS systems from them, that may have helped.)
-
I'm just afraid that its going to be shipped to my old address AFTER I move.
-
djrm, back off, I was here first to torture Tileman  just kiddin
-
Do you know what yours measures? Like i said mine is like a quarter inch.
-
Well, all you have to do is to let Dell know about the impending move... and they'll send to wherever.. At least I think so
-
This is your answer:
Comapare with the usb port
should be obviuos! -
They told me I have to call when I move (WTF -- like moving to a different state isn't chaotic enough). It also will increase my order about $100 due to taxes and stuff. BAHHHHHH!
-
Hello cliegal and tileman, can you measure your laptops at front and back to see if the dimensions that dell told me are correct
front Led 2.31cm
bacl led 3.38cm
front no led 2.46 cm
back no led 3.63 cm
thanks -
ok, now it says MONITOR\CMO 1390
-
are you living in oregon?
$100 is too much for mere change in tax...
-
well, it ain't AU Optronics, that's for sure... I guess it is Chi Mei, after all
-
... its called moving to NYC.
-
mine looks like the LED from the picture!
-
Maybe you got the CCFL!?!?!?! Oh my... I would bring down Dell to play in hell if that happened to me.
-
Just as we thought then. If its the same hight as the USB port then its defo LED
-
Ok, it's 2AM in the morning, just got a call from dell saying they're sorry for the delay and they will expedite my order. Does someone have an email to corp so I can complain about this?
-
NO! he did get a Chi Mei screen, so it's definitely an LED. Just chill, dude, everything will be fine
BTW, I decided to sit it out for now, I'm gonna let you guys be the guinea pigs for the first run of m1330s  jokin! -
I googled, CMO is short for "Chi Mei Optoelectronics"
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Chi+Mei+LED++CMO+1390&btnG=Search -
Write to Michael Dell... [email protected]
... and continue to complain on Direct2Dell -
now, if we could get Cliegal to post her monitor hardware id, too...
For comparison purposes and so that everyone could check immediately what kind of screen they got upon delivery..
-
it's one line more than a quarter of an inch on the tape measure.
-
Thank you, have to somehow coherently email him now.
-
Do they scan his emails for virus bombs and such? kiddin
-
Just checked my status on the phone line. Says it is in BOXING. Yesterday it was in build... It is also black with LED.
-
I went to boxing today. The phone thing was down at like 6pm yesterday so I tried at 3am this morning and it said i was in boxing even though I was probably in boxing before that. The phone line is down again for me though.
Edit:
I also have black LED. -
I'm presuming you've got a standard ruler that divides an inch into 8 parts? That would mean ~6.5mm for the LED and ~9.5mm for the CCFL. That's decently close to the 2.5mm difference it should be and takes into account some margin of error of measurement.
-
I am sure that they do scan everything
-
Yes everyone rip your screen off the hinges and place it next to your USB port. If it's the same size then congrats your broken laptop has a LED Backlight.
That would be kinda funny if some country bumpkin did that.
Ok this is starting to piss me off now, you should not be able to order two weeks after thousands of other people and get your system shipped before them. Dell's update on their blog had better be pretty damn convincing.
Monitors do not normally have drivers, because they generally do not need them.
Woah there big boy a whole quarter inch! -
this thread is hitting 5k today..without a doubt
now, if only they could start shipping some WHITES! Lol -
monkey, try and keep up with thread, will ya?
-
as I said it would yesterday  Although, without Blah, it's might be more difficult... Blah, oh Blah, where art thou?
-
Mine has also hit boxing, I supposedly have next day shipping so hopefully I get mine next week??
-
when did you order?
-
I'm still in the testing stage....hopefully they're taking their time so I don't get a lemon.
-
Looks to be just a hair less than 3/8 of an inch, however whatever that is in mm.
-
July 4th on the website
-
Unless you ordered in June then you have no reason to complain
-
I tried to call Dell 1800 automated order status phone line, but after I put in my M1330 order number I was transferred to a real person. Only thing he can tell me is my order is in prodution. I could use the 1800 system and found out my order is in Build stage two days ago. And now ererytime I dilaed it and input my order number, I got transferred to a real peoson.
Anyone has similar experience? What's happening to my order?
Order date: 06/29 Expected shipping date 07/31 Status: In Production
Thanks,
Sean -
that is 9.5 mm so it is like 3 mm difference
-
goggle says its 9.525mm
-
Over the past few days, the system has been experiencing glitches. Does it transfer you immediately? If not, then you should keep trying again. Sometimes you will get through... sometimes not.
-
Yes 5 times yesterday and three times today. I assume the system is overwhelmed. Last time I got through I used my 13 digit customer number.
-
I'm in the chat room now, need proofreaders.
-
I will join you in there in about 2 hours. Nice pics of your trip
