My battery on snowball is the 32 made in Korea assembled in
China or vice versa and it works great.. wonder what is going on?

Why can't Dell solve their supply issues? You'd think with a down economy there would be less purchasing and more stock available.
-
Agree'd, they more than doubled the production time on mine. I can understand some added time, double just seems a bit much.
They sure didnt delay in charging me for the mini -
They shouldn't charge you until they deliver it.

I received my mini back in October and have one of the "KR" variant batteries. I talked to Dell support earlier and they have this issue escalated, should hear something from them tomorrow. -
Do you think they will offer a replacement for our KR variant batteries?
I thought they were better not worse but that isn't true? -
I can see it now, Dells latest e mail...
"Scott, due to battery supply issues your Mini 9 will ship sometime late 2009. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you for your purchase." -
I'm so happy for you! I don't post often here but I still lurk. After all I went through waiting for mine, I couldn't help but follow your saga. I can't wait to see the pics.

That's nice of you following my somewhat long, saga!I can't believe I was still somewhat patient thruout the whole thing!
I remember your saga well, as I followed yours..too!I'm happy things are going well for you, now
Yes, I am probably going to overheat my camera, the battery will start on fire before I even get done taking all the pic's LOL...
Aaaaah...she breathes...it feel's good!
Cin -
how do you find the battery information, inside the computer when you boot up, verses outside?
-
Dang, I got one of the gimp batteries
In Ubuntu, just go click the battery icon in top panel, then click on the batteries and it'll bring up properties. Not sure about XP -
Cin -
Does anybody know for xp? I can't find it... and Cin mine as you know was first wave.
-
Actually, I hope not a lot of peeps on the forum do...
Cin -
-
Yup... that would be first batch all right. I still want to find where it reads it on XP.
-
Can you help Jane with her q???
Thanks...
Cin -

Looks like the Mini battery issue was actually a non-issue since the Korean-made battery that everyone thinks is lesser capacity actually outlasted the China-made one... -
Cin -
So Cin either one will work almost the same... I wonder if one is cooler than the other. I noticed mine pretty warm but I think that is the
hard drive. -
Glad I do not have to worry -
It prob's is the HDThey like to get warm pretty fast!
Cin -
Granted the discharge time proved not to be an issue we still have the reporting problem.
For me, I have the reporting problem and my battery is only getting about 3hrs on a charge, so I am waiting for Dell to provide a solution/explanation on both.
Curious, does your mini 9 have the KR or CN battery? -
I don't know what it reports, as I'm a novice Ubuntu user, but at least I'm getting the usage time that I should be getting. -
Cin. -
Type this into terminal:
Code:cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/info
-
-
So Cin' today is the day right?
-
It's ok..Id rather pick it up anyways..then chance having it left sitting outside..I think today is just one of *those days*
Cin. -
-
-
I should have it in my hands, by 7pm this evening.!
Cin. -
I'm picturing Cin' on a dogsled, right now, going to pick up her Mini from Fedex.
All I know is, I expect pics, Cin'. I want to see what this red looks like on a non-rendered picture. I'm guessing I'll be thinking my white looks quite boring, now. -
Hey Cin, they shipped both the computers today.. so two red ones coming to compare...... little red and big red...
Hope yours came today and we see some pics soon.
Janie -
uh-oh... someone needs to go by Cin's house and check on her. She hasn't posted in a few hours now! She's either dead on the ground, or a new computer arrived and is consuming all of her time!
-
She was having some difficulties earlier getting the Wifi to work.
-
XP version that is on one of my minis?
It would probably run faster?
Thanks, -
No you can't transfer it over.

Any idea how long it usually takes to go from boxing to shipped?
Checked Cin's post and hers took almost 2.5 days. If they work over the weekend and ship it Monday I could get it the 24th! PLEEEEEEase dell -
@Cin'
Very slick. It's a nice looking red.
I'd imagine you'll get the typing down pretty quickly. One of these days you'll just realize that you're tapping away without even thinking about it, very close to normal speed. -
Here are the results.
-
awesome cin!!! I love the color!!!
For sure I'll keep that baby....
Can't wait to hear more from you!
