This is interesting. I see many people mentioning their orders are in testing or in boxing that have ordered WAAAY after mine (original order: June 9, revised order July 5), while my order is still "In production". I didn't order anything out of the ordinary either:

your 1521 might still be delayed because of the expresso brown lid. I have that color too, and its delaying my order

 

Interesting. I thought so as well (especially after reading past posts about how the color could drastically affect your ship date).

According to the CSR I just talked to, the back-ordered piece is actually the LCD screen cover. Not the LCD screen. The screen *cover*.

This, of course, is drastically different from what the last CSR told me. And the one before that. And the one before that. And I could go on and on here... ;-)

What I find really funny is I just received an email advertisement from Dell touting a special on Inspiron 1501s saying they are in stock and ready to ship...

I just called and I'm still in the build stage and as a member of the club, I am supossed to ship on the 28th. I'm starting to worry too as the 28th is merely 5 or 6 days away. However, not to be a pessimist, that is plenty of time for them to box it up and send it out.

I can't wait til it's in my hands

 

Finally some good news!! I just checked and mine has finally shipped!! As of about 6:00 AM this morning!!

 

Ah, just checked mine and I'm still in the boxing stage. It probably will be shipped on Monday, the day we start classes here. I'm just glad it's finally shipping.

Hopefully your computer will be the treatment it's due today. But I think if it doesn't hit boxing by tomorrow or Saturday, it may be delayed again. I'm only going by other's reports about boxing taking 3-4 days.

 

I just called an mine is still in the build stage. Man this is frustrating. I guess Spring Green has a higher delay time. I just want my computer.

I'm in the 8/28 club also. I checked my order today and it says its in shipping (8/23) but the estimated delivery date is 8/28-8/30. Since they upgraded me to next day shipping I have no idea what's going on.

 

Yea, I think us green guys are screwed. Mines been in the build stage for over a month!
I just got back from vacation in Mexico and I have many pictures on my digi that I want to play with......but I got nada

 

Me too - I'm on day 38 now.

I'm hoping green will be the next color to ship.

Just got the delayed message this morning. I got delayed to 8/30. Hopefully my laptop ships out by then.

 

Just got a call from a Case Manager informing me that my laptop has shipped! said I should get it by monday...... I *****ed and said well Its next day shipping and monday isn't the next day, he said I might get it before then( I better) Otherwise I'll be talking to Dell again Status online also says Shipped!

 

GAH!!!! rip out my heart and stomp on it why don't u dell? i called at like 10am today, and it was like "this order has been shipped and is in route to the carrier, you tracking number will be available shortly" i'm as excited as a little girl w/ a hoolahoop...... ok, maybe not but still. call again at noon to see if it would say something like shipped and in route to delivery or something...... and it says boxing. :cry: why oh why?

 

Oh no. Dell is truly evil. Well hopefully it will be shipping soon.

 

I recieved the email that it was shipped, but no tracking numbers. Does anyone know what carrier they use, or is it different depending on where it's going?

They use UPS, Fedex, and DHL. At least for orders in America. I'm not sure how they pick the carrier, their must be some strategy behind it though.

 

They finally updated the shipping with tracking numbers. It's supposed to come via DHL by 3pm tomorrow. Does anyone know if DHL delivers on Saturday? I'll be at work tomorrow (unless I call in sick to wait for my laptop).

 

I wonder when the next ESD will be, I have no faith they are going to meet this one, especially for so many people...

 

You ordered yours the same day as me, except with different model/colors/etc. So I hope it isn't delayed again...

My printer was delayed again, so my best guess is now my lap top will probably be delayed for the fourth time. Est ship date was 8/11, then 8/15 and now 8/31, ordered 7/29 along with lap top.

I do real estate and need my lap top for my business. Almost ready to give up and go buy another, but wanted Dell and the 2GB to be able to game too. It does not seem we have any choice in the matter, either continue to take this or cancel. I have NEVER experienced this with Dell before and have been a customer for years.

 

I'm out of the club. Mine laptop is sitting on a DHL truck. I missed the delivery since I'm at work today but they'll bring it by tomorrow!

Mine shipped today!! I'm so confused because there is no tracking order. So I talked to dell chat and they gave her a tracking number that won't work, so now I'm confused.

That is where I'm at too. DHL says "Note: Tracking numbers for today's shipments may not have entered into our tracking system yet." So maybe they just haven't updated it yet?

Does DHL ever deliver on Saturday? That is my question! They guy in Dell chat said they might, but otherwise they would deliver on Monday. That isn't much help...

 

It's my understanding that DHL doesn't ship on the weekend, FedEx does if you choose it.

It went into "boxing" on Monday 8/20.

 

That is what it is looking like. I was hoping we too would be blessed with a bouncing new green laptop but not yet I guess.

 

Reds are the same boat greeners are. Don't hear about any reds being shipped out.

 

Hopefully the greens will start shipping out soon. You only ordered a few days before me.

Some reds have been shipped out already. Many people commented on them in this forum. Besides, you ordered 10 days after me, so it's only normal that you receive yours after me But then again, nothing Dell is doing right now is normal.

 

I am waiting on Red, still have not seen where any other Ruby Redders got theirs. At this point, I would never recommend Dell to anyone.

 

I have seen a couple of red's getting delivered but that's about it. Not an exodus like blue's...A month is too long to own a laptop. I am sure the prices of all the components that Dell used have fallen during this period.

 

I called DHL since I missed my delivery this morning and the rep for DHL said they do deliver on Saturday.

 

I think mine will get delayed again. Im gonna call and get $100 back for depreciation. My laptop isnt worth what I bought it for a 30 days ago.
