On a brighter note, I'll be outta this Dell hell that is The Dell Shipping Order Status and Customer Service Issues forum and into the normal Dell forum. That's not to say I won't be back however.

 

I know, this is going to be pretty much the only time that I'm looking forward to Monday! Is it here yet? I want my computer!!!

 

Well. My order shipped, but on the website, it is listed as DHL Express Ground. This was unexpected, as I was given a free upgrade to "Next Business Day" shipping. My first class is on the 29th, and the expected arrival date is 8/29-8/31. If it was really next business day, it would be 8/27.

i got the SAME exact thing as u...... shipped on the 24th.... edd is 29-31.... 5-7 days for NBD? i don't think so!!

Tracking is unavailble for me to. When I called Dell on the matter, the CSR said that is was shipped Next Business Day, but was unable to confirm with DHL, as the tracking is not yet available. She said I should call DHL tomorrow.

If I call DHL, and this is in fact 3-5 day shipping, I will be calling Dell for some freebies.

 

Don't worry about it, more than likely you will receive it the next day. Dell uses whatever the cheapest method is to get it to you, and if you are close enough Express Ground is the same as Next Day.

So it seems the hi-res screens and Blue lids have come in...but I'm not hearing about any Red or 1200 res. screens shipping out...

 

They really should call the blue lids Black, not much of a difference really I know its Midnight blue but it wasn't this dark in the commercials or on their website.

 

Funny enough, my LoJack package IS shipping Next Business Day.

 

it's been shipped since yesterday and i still don't have the tracking #. when can i call the automated # to talk to an actual rep to get my tracking #? they open at 8?

 

I see alot of blues going out lately. What about pink? I don't think I've seen any pink 1720/1721s go out. What, are they doing one color at a time? I'm beginning to think that 8/28 is going to come and go and alot of us will be delayed again.

I know, I can hardly stand it. It took Dell exactly one month to ship out this laptop. Now I'm just waiting on the tracking information to become available. *Prays it's a courier that will deliver on Saturday*

My lojack's status hasn't changed at all. Still set to ship the 28th. I'm amazed it is taking them a month to get that CD and the sound card together.

 

i'm in the same boat....... i hear people talking about receiving their laptop in the morning so i'm on nails waiting for it. says shipped, no info..... can't call til 9am to find out either. and my lojack and sleeve are still "in production" which seems really stupid... if it doesn't show up by 10:50am...... i'm gonna be a sad panda w/o a fancy laptop

what does it mean if there isn't any tracking info and it's shipped. does that mean it's shipped from malaysia, or that they're just lazy about telling you who has ur laptop and is bringing it?

 

Shipped is when it's with the carrier. Boxing is the stage in which they do all that shipping from Malaysia stuff. I'm going to try to get on the chat and see if they can give me any information. I'll also ask whether or not we can schedule a pickup time for ourselves if the courier is not willing to deliver it, but has it at a hub nearby.

Well, I found out my laptop was shipped via DHL Airborne and I also have my tracking number. However, the CSR said the tracking information wouldn't be updated until Monday, since today is Saturday.

 

do they ship on saturday? i have DHL express

no, i got my tracking # from dell, call DHL up to see if i'll get it today and they don't have the #...... anyways, packing up the computer, gotta leave for college =/ no lappy :cry:

 

I meant, we won't be able to see the tracking on the DHL site until monday. I left for college with no lappy too. I'm at home at the moment though. I'll be heading back tomorrow morning.

 

Mine is coming from Sparks, NV according to DHL and I live in AZ, so I'm guessing that is where yours will come from too. Mine was also shipped by Express Ground and had the way out there delivery date. But according to DHL it will be here by Monday.

I've be watching it and it seems to be making progress. It went from Sparks, NV to Sacramento to Riverside, CA (big hub).

I assume they were able to use the ground partly because we are pretty close to where they ship from and also because they have a whole weekend for the packages to travel.

Is it Monday yet?!?!

 

When did yours ship Karen? Mine shipped last night but I don't have any information about the carrier on the order status. I did a chat and got that information but I still can't track it because DHL hasn't put it in their system yet.

 

I talked to Dell yesterday morning and they gave me the tracking number, but like yours it didn't work for awhile. DHL says they picked up the package at about 2:30 pm. But I'm a little confused on those times because I know my tracking number had started working a little before I left for work at 1:30 pm and I'm pretty sure they had already picked up my package. So I don't know.

When did yours ship last night? Maybe DHL hasn't actually picked it up yet?

 

Yay my delay is not because of the stupid lcd screen anymore. I just am missing my processor. Hope I can get mine built by tomorow.

 

I'm not sure what time it actually shipped. It had to be between 7 PM and ~11 PM. I'll keep trying my number until it works. Your most likely right about it not being picked up by DHL yet.

 

For those of you that have been waiting in excess of 6-8 weeks, it's worth the wait. Mine's a loaded 1721 with everything but a webcam & bluetooth (I have a compatible dongle).



I got Next Day Ground via DHL & a %10 refund ($160.50) on my Dell Account .

At the suggestion of a friend of mine, I emailed Michael Dell. If you Google for his Dell email address, I'm sure you'll find it. About 4 days after sending the email, I had regular & consistent info about my order from ONE person that first identified himself as being from Michael Dell's office. When I first spoke to the person, I told them that I was very disappointed, was considering getting a MacBook, or even an HP, since it was becoming rather obvious why they are outselling Dell these days. THOSE were the magic words & from that point on I got consistent & thorough updates & was surpised this past Tuesday when he called to tell me that he expedited my order and was able to get it out a week before the 8/28 due date. Kudos to Dell for winning back my loyalty...

 

YEA!!! I'm posting this from my pretty new Dell! I was watching the DHL tracking and saw that it made it to my hometown. I called to see if there was any chance of picking it up today, guessing that there wasn't much of a chance at all, but they said the office was open until noon and I could go get it!!! DHL is my new best friend!!!

 

Looks like it is about that time to guess the new ESD for us whose computers have yet to move past the build stage. Let's hope we aren't pushed into late October or early November...

 

Not only do I not see Ruby Reds shipping...but I dont see any anti-glare screens shipping. \

Also... the Anti-glare option for all the Inspirons have been removed....Maybe I wont get my laptop ever.

 

So many of us are still in BUILD stage. I hope we don't have to change the title to "The 9/XX Est. Shipping Club".

I'm so happy to see that many of you Blues have shipped dates. Mine still says in production esd 8/28. What number are you calling to find out something besides in production? I may be the last person on this thread!

 

The order staus number is just Music. Ive danced to it for hours! Dell has the same awesome music as I do on my (non-existant) iPod! Great taste in music Dell!

I thought there will be another delay for a lot of us. I guess Dell already cut the status checking system and is thinking about how to explain to its customers.

 

Just got somebody on chat, to affirm that it will ship on 08/28 and to have a written transcript. The Rep said that shipping date is 08/28 and that she may not give any more details on dates and status of my notebook. He remarked that the ESD are very conservative dates. Rep acknowledged that my notebook was in production and when I remarked that the 28th was in two days he acknowledged that as well....Repeated that he may not provide any more details at this time. When I pressed him more on potential delays, he said that my coloured lid might delay the order. When I asked him whether this means delay beyond two days from now, he said he may not provide that information and I should keep checking the web site........

 

Fiiiiinaly. DHL has indeed recieved my computer. Dell says they shipped it on the 24th, but DHL didn't get it until 12AM today. Anyway, it's still in Ohio, hopefully it'll be at my house by tomorrow. Then I just have to find a way to get home to get it.

Oh yeah, I did indeed get next day delivery. On the DHL site it says Next Day 3:00 Delivery.

 

My laptop got to orlando at 10:30pm last night and I live like 4 hours away so I'm pretty sure I'll be getting it tomorrow.

 

Well I just asked the dell rep on the online chat what the heck was up with my laptop. He checked it and said that it appeared that everything was available so he expedited the order. So hopefully I might see a laptop by on the delivery date of august 29th

 

I ordered my lovely pink laptop on 7/29 hoping to have it for school. I know I havent waited as long as a lot of others but it is still frustrating. When I contacted Dell, the CSR told me that if I wanted I could "cancel the order and walk to Wal-Mart to get a Dell"...lol. Great service there. Supposedly I was upgraded to free one day shipping, but thats worthless if it never ships. My order still says in production, and all I hear is music on their phone status line. I'm sure I will be joining the 09/xx club soon...

I just spoke with Dell csr and manager via chat, they said it was the processor that was holding up the order. They said they have received the parts now and expect it to ship on 8/28. We'll see... Also I had been promised free NBD shipping in a previous chat, but my online order still reflected 3-5 days. I inquired to csr about this also, and they fixed it right away. If it is delayed again I am going to try to get some credit.
