I'm in Boxing now! testing was pretty quick, just a few hours.

 

I wonder? If many people have been cancelling their orders, could Dell possibly be taking a cancelled order already in the build stage and sending it to someone else who has an order with the same specs? This might be why some are getting their orders earlier even though they have placed their orders more recently.

For example, maybe I ordered bluetooth while another customer had the same specs except for bluetooth, but then there was another customer who had the exact same specs who cancelled.

Great! Now Dell has driven me to mindless rants and senseless speculation. I need to take a Xanax or something. I wonder? Can we sue for emotional distress?

lol .... well there not gona like the request for the vista refund either but im only gona run linux on the 1720 that i have been waiting for .... although it would be nice to use the multimedia buttons to boot into like a myth tv setup the media boot thing is a question im sure that needs to go to another forum but is there a way to set it to boot a certain partition

When you call up Dell about your order is it more up-to-date than checking online? Cause if so I might start doing that...

 

I can't believe it. I ordered a Vostro 1400 yesterday and today (not even 24 hours later) it is already in boxing. I hope this phone system is right. ESD is 9/10.

Went in to "testing" this morning.

 

I was a 9/05 ESD and my system has shipped as of 9/01!!!!

OK so i ordered my 1520 on 8/27 and it went into the build stage on 8/31 and now today(9/4) it says it's in pre-production not the build stage WTF. Has anyone else had this happen? Because I have not received a delayed order e-mail. Should I be expecting one?

 

I'm a 9/11 ESD and my system is still in the build stage.

One guy on Dellcommunity's forums had a 9/7 ESD and now has a ESD of 10/1.

Don't know what to think.

 

I ordered my M1330 on the 7th August went in to Production, Delivery Preparation, Dispatched all within 1 hour lol! Delivery company phoned me this morning and should be here Thursday morning

 

Yeah but did you customize it or did u just purchasae one of the express build lappies?

 

My m1330 just went into boxing today. Automated system still says ESD of 9/18 though, but I'm sure it'll arrive sooner than that.

 

I ordered my 1520 on Aug. 24 and it still is in the Build stage.

evo6, Yeah you did customize it...I was asking if you had directly chosen the express build option which does not let you change any of the items you specified....Congrats on the fast and very lucky ship time though. I hope you enjoy it.

 

I would love for Dell to send me some kind of update, it's been 6 days now w/no update what so ever!

D-day is tomorrow and still in build, doesn't look good for me.

All along it seems Dells website was trying to add a clue as I possibly head to my 3rd delay:

Finally it's here. DHL delivered my order to 7-11. Luckily I got it and reported it back to DHL. The driver came back to 7-11 and took it back. I decided to pick it up myself at DHL office this evening. I guess someone at DHL might get fired.

Haha...a fellow North Carolinian typing on a PSP. I remember those days. I sold my psp so I could buy this laptop. I was in such a hurry to sell it so I could get my laptop asap. Well... I could have just kept it. I miss my psp!

I had got a PSP imported from Japan cuz I couldn't wait for them to be released in the states. Then I waited for games to come out for like 7 months. Eventually sold it. Then I got another one a year later thinking there was lots of good games for it. Nope, sold the second one!

I really liked the PSP but there was like absolutely no good games for it besides GTA.....

 

Should be getting my 1520 tomorrow! Very excited.

Well unless I am at work, the PSP is my computer so I am about sick of it. I am ready for my computer!

I stick to GTA and SOCOM with a little lumines in the mix. I don't play games too terribly often though.

ESD 9/4 came and went. The Dell site is now listing a 10/4 ESD. This is the first and last Dell I will ever purchase.

 

I just talked to Dell's Customer Service Chat he said
Agent (Denis_Kerketta): "I see that the service tag for the order is generated and it would ship out any time in the next 24-48 hours."

yay! I hope so! My ESD is the 19th so if it ships Thurs or Fri I'll be happy.....so by next week yay! yay for earlyness

 

Mine went into Kitting/Testing this morning, they are probably going to miss the shipping date, but only by a few days, Yay!

 

I just got a "This order is estimated to ship out within 48-72 hours. It is in the final stage of production.A service tag will be available once the order ships."

Not bad.

 

I just called Dell Canada - we don't have the granular production stages like kitting, testing etc. - but according to the rep, my order would also be in boxing now as it's scheduled to ship out within 48-72 hours, and has a service tag too.

Is this drama finally drawing to a close?
