Dear lord, now it will be moved to JANUARY?! When I ordered on god damn october? HOLY *****.
Any one got the number of a competent dell representative?
-
I finally got mine.
original order date: 10/6
original edd: 11/9
order cancelled/re-placed 11/3
new EDD 12/2
EDD was changed to 12/8, 11/25, and finally 12/3 before it actually shipped and arrived on 12/1 -
RECEIVED
Yes, the wait is over to me now after two months and couple days.
Just some important thing to know :
My last order was place on 11 / 19 with EDD on 12 / 15
Since then, everything went right and Dell also updated the progress pretty soon.
Received my laptop at 2PM 12 / 01 as updated ( 14 days sooner than the EDD )
I'm typing on it now and hope you guys will get yours soon before Christmas. -
I guess luck. -
My order was placed on 11/22. -
I have received mine. My original order was on 10/16/09, latest edd was 12/10/09.
I did not receive windows 7 with my laptop, Can someone tell me what i need to do to get a copy? -
I received mine yesterday after several delays and dell emails..
Ordered 10/14 -> Original EDD 11/19 -> 12/1(HD missing)->12/7 -> actual 11/30
configuration
i7-720, RGB, 500GB HD, DVD, 4GB RAM, Win 7 -
Mine was delivered to Michigan (in transit to Canada now - yes, I had someone in the US order for me - a) better specs on .com than .ca b) still will work out cheaper even with import tax)
original order 10/22
hope to recieve 12/02
They are giving me $50 for my troubles, I feel so much better (not!). Kept order going due to specs. Dell won a battle, lost the war (won't order with them again, had they have compensated me a little better, I would have let it slide) -
11/20/2009 ordered
12/01/2009 delivered -
However tonight I now see that it did show up as a "Dell Home" purchase in my account. The transaction is pending, where I'll probably get the cash when the 1645 ships as you say, but at least now I know the purchase truly did/will get the cashback.
It took two days to show up after the Dell purchase, if that helps anyone else.
Interesting note - the Bing cashback amount is off slightly. They recorded a purchase price that is $39 less than what Dell said it was on my invoice. This results in getting $8 less than expected, not a big deal. The difference is not sales tax (none in NH) or shippping (free).
Is this simply a clerical error in mine or did anyone else notice the same in their cashback? -
-
I am from New Delhi. My laptop was supposed to be delivered yesterday but because of the wrong shipping address it never got delivered. My dad tried calling them 4 times (a dell representative) and no one picked up in the past 2days. Not even today is anyone picking up. Calling them on the toll number won't work either. I hope to get it today!
-
Atleast you got delivery....Mine is order since 16th Oct...still did not get it.
. If i would have invested 70K somwhere, if would have got min. 2-3K profit on it.
-
just call dell and yell, they ill sed you a new one -
One week before my ESD, and I'm still in the build stage. At least I'm still not in pre-production.
-
Order date: 11/11
EDD: 12/08
Went to In-Production Today after being Pre-production all this time. I have serious doubts that they will deliver by 12/08.. -
I ordered 11/8 with an EDD of 12/2. Just a couple of days ago i went into the build stage and then the boxing stage and now I woke up this morning to an e-mail saying it will be delayed until 12/8. This really sucks.

11/29/2009
-
Well I ordered mine on 11/09/2009 with an EDD of 12/3/2009 and it's been "In Production" since 11/10/2009 with no change.
I highly doubt it will be shipping today to meet the original EDD. Oh well. I've given up hope that Dell will ship my laptop before Christmas. They have already had 4 weeks and nothing. -
Current Order Status: (Ordered 11/13)
...on Support: In Production (EDD of 12/9)
...on My Account: In production (EDD of N/A)
...on Order Status: In Production (EDD of 12/9)
...via 1-800-433-9014: "Currently being processed" (EDD of 12/9)
...via 1-800-283-2210 3,2,1,1: "In production in the build stage" (EDD of 12/8)
Likewise, I must agree that the EDD seems a tad early. But hey, I'm always game for surprise. Especially if it's a good surprise. -
-
-
My order status says my 1645 shipped today (no tracking # yet on next day shipping) - ordered 11/19.
-
just got mine today.. what a machine... windows experience score is 7.1
hold out its worth it -
i just called dell via 1-800-283-2210 3,2,1,1 to check the status of my order and they said it was in the "boxing stage" yet they gave me an ESD of 12/18.....does it really take that long to "box" something?
-
well went to build stage. seems a lot has moved a little forward.
Be pretty sweet if they fix the power throttle thing on the new builds... -
-
I believe -> Boxing = shipping from plant(in Malaysia) to Local Dell Distribution Point. Tennessee for USA(at least the east coast/midwest).
-

Crazysah -
Recent Update on My order....
EDD has been updated to 8th Dec.
And Status is Manufacturing Build Complete.
-
Update - 12/3/09 Day 3 of Boxing - you'd think it would take less than 3 days to box

ARGH! -
Day 3 of in-production, which is still better than 3 weeks of pre-production. EDD is one week from today...will it make it?

I've been following this thread silently all the while receiving comfort from the fact that I am not alone in my frustration with Dell. Today I wanted to share my misery.
Original Order Date: 10/13/2009
Cancelled: 11/9/2009 with EDD of 12/3/2009
Updated EDD: 12/10/2009.
The truly miserable part of all this has not been the wait itself, but rather Dell's sorry excuse for customer service (unless they are using the word service as a vulgar synonym).
My order was cancelled like so many others due to the bad WiFi. Problem: Dell never told me. Since I was using the 12months no interest (financing) my re-entered order got held up because they once again needed to confirm. Had I not checked on the status myself and called there is no telling how long it may have remained in that state.
Then my new order gets an EDD of 12/3/2009 but the average status (average because I never could get concensus on status) was pre-production. Several phone calls assured me that my system was in fact being built and would still arrive "on or before" 12/3/2009.
Now we come to 12/1/2009 - order is still pre-production. I call and ask "Are you sure it will arrive on 12/3? Seems like an awfully quick build" Again I was assured by no less than 4 people that yes 12/3 was still on target.
12/2 4PM CST - Another phone call. More assurances that 12/3 is the date.
12/3 1AM CST - Website and automated service still claim 12/3 as the date.
12/3 2:39AM CST - "Your recent Dell order has been delayed".
New EDD 12/10. My problem is this: part of me is so fed up with Dell I just want to call up and cancel the order. However, there is another part of me saying "it's just a week. You've waited this long another week ain't so bad".
ARGGG! Why do you make me hate you, Dell?!? I live about 5 miles from their Nashville facility. Tempted to take the day off and stand outside with a big sign reading "You don't have to fly me in for my laptop. I live right here! Now where's my laptop!?!"
Sorry for the long rant. It's been bottled up for a while now. -
Sacrifyce
Our stories are almost identical besides the fact you ordered a day earlier. I too was going for the 100% interest free deal for the first year. My status is still In Production and the guys at customer care are claiming the hard drive is delaying my order.
-
Ok I have wrote to a member of the team [email protected], to know if the stereo bluetooth headset that I have ordered is the reason for this delay and long time to wait.
First he told me that there is a part shortage on my system. So I asked him if it is the stereo bluetooth headset, and if there is a way to cancel it to move forward, then he replied me this :
So it's not over ?? The base for the computer is maybe still a reason for each of us who are stucked In Production :/
it seems weird because all of customers here, that have ordered recently, have their laptops very quickly, sooo.... -
-
I've been wanting to cancel my order for over 3 weeks now, but there's no other laptop that comes close to the specs and price for this one. It's frustrating, but it's not an emergency, and I'll keep waiting. If a better deal comes along, I'll cancel and/or refuse shipment.
-
hell yeah I just went in production, build stage. This is the farthest I ever gone. I think the leather back and 500GB HD was delaying my previous order, thats why my new one lacks those.

I was on the phone with a dell customer service guy from india and he told me that my xps 1645 is being built in the United States. I thought all dell laptops were made in malaysia. Is he lying? Ordered from dell.ca
-
know what it happens in his company...
There is India, and the USA,a whole world is between this two entities. -
My status has not changed in a while. Makes me even more pessimistic now.

Hi,
How do I enable/disable Bluetooth? I can't seem to find it -
I completely forgot about the owners thread. Do we still have to worry about the power issues on the new systems or has it been fixed?
