I didnt know there was an order status phone line in the uk! Whats the number (or key press options)
-
Hi you have to call 08709074000 Monday-Friday when they are open and then press option 3 then you are asked if you are a home or business user and if your item has arrived or not. You will then be asked for your order number and it will tell you the status.
-
I feel your pain, I finally buckled after waiting two months then discovering it had been delayed AGAIN until 28 september. Anyway, I gladly cancelled the order today and will get the new Samsung Q45 with Nvidia graphics which is cheaper, smaller, same spec and is due out next month instead of anytime between now and my death. Sorry Dell but you are ****E.
If I were you bud, I'd do the same. Good luck. -
I was like you, excited, I'm sure you'll be just as p'd off in 3 months when you're still waiting and something better has been released.
Good luck. -
The human race will have evolved INTO laptops by the time Dell deliver theirs!
-
haha
well i got a call from my rep saying there is now a 3month delay (minimum) on the 1330... I prompty cancelled my order, they then tried to fob me off with a vostro 1400 or the d430, told him to get stuffed LOL
ill wait till after xmas before i get my 1330 - prices should drop when HP and Sony release there ultramobile santra rosa's -
I was really excited to get mine but now..i was hoping it would be a couple of months before i go back to uni so i could try out some games and stuff..
well now visual studio and netbeans will go straight on and thats about it..how dull -
haha - im going to wait for the SZ6, i rang Sony Style today and they said they couldn't confirm a UK release date but they said it was "soon" lol - nice....
i also toyed with the idea of buying a Macbook Pro........technically speaking, its pretty awsome i just cant decide if it looks awsome or ugly as hell!!!! wtf is going on with those 2" speakers either side of the kb -
-
hopefully everyone cancelling will speed up my order. lol.
-
Im going to hold out for a few months and see what happens, hopefully when other manufactures release their ultra portable santa rosas prices will drop a little big and there will be bargains to had!!! thats my theory anyway....
for me personally, its going to be a race between the new T61 / M1330 / SZ6 - im in the lucky position of being able to buy it via a business account so money isnt going to be a problem, its just got to look GORGEOUS.... i spend 1/2 my day staring at it! -
I won the battle against the system and got myself a 3yr accidental coverage and an additional 9cell battery and a carry case for a slight price increase (talking not even 100 quid here).
Accidental cover is pretty unique on the market and i originally wanted to go with it but it was slightly exceeding my limit. having it now, on top with a second battery and a carry case is what i wanted to see and brings the price back in line with the pricedrops i have seen the last weeks.
So i have to admit that i'm quite a happy camper at the moment.
Just my M1330 is missing, but i know that it will arrive here for sure, some day..... -
lol how did u manage to wing that? when i spoke to the rep and said i wanted to cancel he didnt even bother to put up a fight or offer me even a packet of crisps grrrrr....
for now ill wait and save my money
<sarcasm>who needs a nice new sexy notebook anyway</sarcasm> -
Dells website is STILL showing 6wks delay on the m1330 - this is quiet clearly rubbish as even the reps are accepting there is like 2 - 3months delay.....
maybe someone should update the site lol! -
I ordered on the 7th of July so this means that i have been waiting for 6 weeks in total. My ship is the 29th of August. If Dell put me back again i will push for the accidental cover. If they don't push back my shipping date i will still put it to them maybe if i could maybe have it a discounted price and you never know what may happen.
I think plus with the Dell accidental cover you are covered anywhere in the world? On my home policy this is like an extra £30-40 a year to add this on. I wonder if this accidental cover can be transfered?
Dell owe me some money and they said that they would pay me when my notebook shipped. This is the reason why i was told i was not pushed back to October. I guess i can only wait and see if this is more rubbish that has been told me by Dell.
Edited to add:
I have looked into it the accidental warranty can be transfered but it does not include theft. -
-
Im just a peon obviously - next month when i have some more money ill join the que again i think lol, but im gonna go for 2.2 this time, oh and buy via Quidco and get some £££ back! -
Not sure if it's just a blip in the online status system but my order now seems to be in Production?!?!?
Fingers crossed that they have had a big delivery of parts. -
It would be about time if they have..don't hold your breath though
-
Interesting status gone down for me in last hour.. maybe its "being updated"... yeah.. hah
unless everyone read morleyje's post and clicking refresh now -
Well, I was in "production" for about a day and now I'm back to pre production. It changed to production yesterday when I checked so I waited a while and checked again this morning before posting incase it was just a system blip but I obviously didn't wait long enough.
Sorry for getting peoples hopes up (including my own). -
OMG
Got a call from Dell, my order has been shipped. A full 6 weeks before the EDD of 01/10. What is going on!!! I cant believe it.
Original Order date: 26/6 - EDD 17/7
EDD changed to 16/8 on 17/7
EDD changed to 01/10 on 15/8
Delivery Date: 21/08 -
good for you Oktane, will you be the first in the UK? did you order one with the LED screen?
their is hope for the rest of us then
Interesting considering my Rep got in touch last week after I asked why my laptop was delayed yet again, he gave the usual excuses but did say that they were expecting delivery of the screens on the 27th,
my rep is spectacularly unreliable so whether this has any substance is debatable -
Oktane - I appear to be in the same boat as you!
I got a call today saying that it had been dispatched and that I should receive it by this Thursday (23rd August).
I only ordered on the 7th of August, so I am delighted considering that the EDD was 9th of September!

Not fair :'-(
Dell, where is my order in the list! -
Im still being told the ONLY part they are waiting on is the 9cell battery... meh!
Good for you guys tho.. will be nice to see what a few of the Ireland built m1330's are like.. -
I now hate Dell.
I just got another phone call from a different guy, saying that delivery has been pushed back until 19th of September?!?!??!
-
"Your laptop is in a queue. Please wait while we build it. You are in position 10,003" -
>>Hmm now when i refresh it goes back to pre-... then when I refresh again I go back to prod-.. and thus the loop continues. -
I am getting the same incompetent behaviour from my on-line status checker too.
-
My chap rang me up to tell me he had sent me an email saying my order had been despatched, but it hadnt. Hardly surprising, but ive not had that email...
-
still in preproduction lol.. i hate you guys
-
Look maybe the status tracker stuff is actually a precursor to some good news.. I asked my CSR about the message.. they said:
"The order will be in build in next 24hours and by end of tomorrow the system will be out for shipment."
splutter. -
Talk about kicking a man when he's down!
I got a call from HSBC today that some 'illegetimus' had obtained my credit card details and was having himself a wonderful time in merry old London, trying to buy watches, jewellery and all manner of computing equipment!
My rep's manager phoned me back, and said that I should receive the laptop by Thursday.
If not, I shall personally make sure that each of their wives will have a new pair of baubles for the tree come Christmas time (which is probably when I will get the laptop if I have to cancel and re-order because of the card problem).
I haven't seen a link here, but this guy (Serpent) has turned his delay with the XPS M1330 into a wonderful tale:
http://drewh70.wordpress.com/2007/08/03/another-delay-on-my-dell-xps-m1330-notebook/ -
Today mine should have come, but it has been delayed until .... October!
Ordered: 17 July
EDD: two weeks
Revised EDD: 20 August
Re-revised EDD: 2 October -
Be under no illusion that any magic transactions took place, before I cancelled, dell removed the delivery charge for a short period roughly equaling £90. Therefore, you could cancel your previous order which included the postal cost, then re order at the reduced cost with extra to bring it back up to the original amount you were going to pay. This offer is off now.
You must be joking if you think that dell would entertain any free extras!! Dell couldn't give a monkeys about us little buyers when they have so many corporate customers who buy millions of pounds worth of hardware. I bet they arent waiting for "pre-production" laptops. -
I am ecstatic. M1330 T7500 arrived this morning. Only had a brief look, but it all seems to be there. Will update when I get home tonight on build quality etc.
Order Date: 26/7, EDD 17/7
EDD changed to 16/08 on 17/7
EDD changed to 01/10 on 15/08
Order delivered 21/08 -
I originally ordered a White m1330 on 27 June, cancelled on 10 August after Dell pushed back the EDD to September. Well I got canceller's remorse so yesterday I reordered, unfortunately now in black. Current EDD is 4 October.
Congrats to everyone that stayed the course and now has their notebook. Pearlescent White m1330s will one day be a collectors item.

OK thought I'd join the fun...
Ordered on 27th July, went briefly into production yesterday and then back into pre production a few hours later...
The FT has a brief summary of some issues here:
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/b80094e8-4f6a-11dc-b485-0000779fd2ac.html
Nothing that couldn't be extracted from flicking through these forums though.
/sigh -
Alex -
Well Just got back today to find my status confirms.... mine has been despatched today.. eta dunno
M1330/T7500/Crimson Red/160gb/Fingerprint/BT/Intel N/8400M/6cell & 9cell -
-
My rep keeps ignoring my emails now and never answers his phone..even when he does reply he doesnt answer my questions..time to talk to his boss again lol
I've been on that "priority" list for a month or so and still got an EDD of 27th of september..its especially annoying as Uk buyers are getting them now (not that im not happy for you) -
-
Well it's nice to see in other threads the wall street journal and financial times have now covered these shortages.
But im sure watchdog still wouldn't be interested
Anyway no closer here, next week I will be in contention for being one of the longest waiters -
-
Sorry, think I take the title there - Ordered on the 27th June, ETA 01/10
-
Received my laptop yesterday and Im well chuffed, but something interesting has caught my eye, and Im keen to find out other peoples opinion. The keyboard has arabic as the alternative text. Now this is the second Dell laptop I have ordered this year (D420) and and 3rd overall and this is the first time I have received a UK order with a keyboard like this.
Do you think they are pulling parts from other areas of the world where demand is not as great. -
Can you take a pic of that ?? Or are you talking about software... that might just be the people testing it.. who knows..
Mines due tomorrow now... will have some comparison then -
Arghh, dilemma time
Just had a telephone call RE: wait time for the XPS tech support replacement M1330.
I have two options
1) Wait for at least another three and a half weeks for the T7700
or
2) Change the processor to a T7500. In return they will up my memory from 2048 to 4096 free of charge and the laptop would be with me by next Friday.
Advise please.
